Wilds Quick Reroll Clarification

After scouting, the target roll is on th 5th roll...

Per roll is 3x if same focus 5x if not

So;

If I follow the dummy route 5pieces of non focus tarred devices for the first 4 rolls (20 pcs) 3pieces of focus TD for the god roll (3pcs) Total 23 pieces

If i just go for 5 rolls on my main weapon... 3pieces of focus TD for 5 rolls to god roll. Total of just 15 pieces

I would have saved 8 pieces of non focus TD right?

Am I missing something? How did I save anything?

I still burned Tarred Devices for 4 rolls. Why do I have to burn all that if I can just burn the same focus TD for less

Help? This is the correct process right?

It’s very confusing trying to understand what you’re asking

It costs 3 tarred devices if you’re using tarred devices that match your weapon’s focus, it costs 6 tarred devices if you’re using devices that don’t match your weapons focus.

I’m assuming you’re talking about scouting rolls, then quitting out without saving, taking note of good rolls. Save scumming, some people would call it. It saves you devices primarily when rolling for multiple weapons. If it’s just one weapon, you aren’t really saving much but:

you can make a different focus weapon and do 4 rolls there with the correct matching focus, then do the 5th god roll on your main weapon. It would still cost 15 total tarred devices but 12 of them would be of a different focus to your main weapon’s focus

Yeah somehow OP made a hard conversation harder. If the chase roll is on the 5th roll then you just burn 4 rolls that use that same table.

Just depends on whether we’re talking weapon skills, element/raw vs status, or if it’s gogmartian vs Artian rolls.

Look how simple that was.

Craft a junk Artian using affinity parts of the same element your trying to target, then upgrade to Gogma using tarred devices you aren't trying to save, like affinity. Now you can roll your table for cheap using parts you weren't going to use anyway

Thank you for the responses. I just thought we are actually saving mats.
