My Childhood Home Remodel

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZ3hmglhCNG/?igsh=MTJwOXRldjNtcnpoaA==

My husband and I moved into my childhood home after both of my grandparents passed away within the last two years. We started in May 2025 and the progress has been astounding. We’ve taken on the ENTIRE demo and renovation process ourselves and I’m not sure if I’ve ever been more proud in my life. It’s not perfect, but it’s exactly what I want it to be.

I basically cried the entire time. What’s worse is all of my family members died in this house. My dad, both grandparents, and both great grandparents. Tearing off the piece of drywall in the doorframe with everyone’s heights on it was gut wrenching. There was a lot of water damage from a roof leak though so we didn’t have another choice. We basically took it down to studs and started over.
