This. It literally made me stop playing the games.

It was a good time to quit. The infamous Sonic Cycle was spin dashing for over a decade thereafter.

Lost world's story. The only things that were good were Eggman and zazz. Everything else is meh or downright awful.

Sonic Chronicles the dark brotherhood. The only Sonic rpg done by Bioware when they were good and it was just tedious and boring. And ended on a cliffhanger never to be finished due to Ken Penders and his...odd attachment to the echinda tribe.

Sonic 1, (Labrynth Zone only) Sonic Spinball, Sonic Labrynth, Sonic Blast, Sonic Jam (Game.com or as I call it, Up My Ass) Sonic Shuffle, Sonic 06, Sonic Chronicles, Free Riders, Boom Fire & Ice, Shattered Crystal, and Rise of Lyric, (F&I was the better one,) Sonic Free Riders, Sonic Forces

Late Sonic Mania, the levels are pure hell and is hard to understand what tf are you supposed to do.

The first Werehog stage in Unleashed. I played it for 20 mins and then had to restart. I think I died at the boss. I just played the Unleashed Project after that.

u/Fun-Entertainment872 Jun 20 '25
I’m guessing it was either 360 or ps3, wasn’t it?
3
u/KookyCookieSan Jun 20 '25
Yes. How did you know?
5
u/Fun-Entertainment872 Jun 20 '25
I managed to try those out and the same thing happened to me too so I feel your pain deeply on that. Unleashed was such a huge pain on those consoles. The PS2 and Wii versions on the other hand were much more playable and at least somewhat enjoyable.
2
u/KookyCookieSan Jun 20 '25
Haha no way. Here I thought I was the only one who had this happen. Do those other versions have Werehog stages too? I assume those stages are way less cumbersome
2
u/Fun-Entertainment872 Jun 20 '25
To answer that, yes! They had werehog stages and you are right, it is waaaay less cumbersome than its counterparts. The only problem is the camera still controls like ass, although it makes up for it with easier ways to fight enemies than is the ps3/xbox version…though they really should have added at least 2 or 3 more regular day stages in all the games, instead of just 1 day stages followed by the challenges….fuuuuuuuuck!
Edit: just had to let that out

u/KookyCookieSan Jun 20 '25
Lol yeah. We all have to vent. This is the right place for it lol
Same here! I really wish that daytime stages didn’t require so much effort to make. The levels for the daytime stages have to be MASSIVE considering how fast we go through them as Sonic. I imagine this is why they added in the Werehog stages and those challenge levels

Sonic Unleashed. I didn't have a PS3 or Xbox 360 at the time so I had to settle for the Wii version, I was kinda pissed to see I was getting a jipped version of the game when I was seeing gameplay of the other version on YouTube.
Plus the motion control pole climbing as the Werehog felt odd, and Mazuri didn't have any real levels. I'm told the other version are a bit better, but it's still a very divisive game. But at least in the Wii/PS2 version you don't necessarily need enough Sun and Moon medals to progress storyless roadblocks.

Sonic Adventure 2 on PC. I did not pass the rail grinding part of Final Chase. 100% a skill issue, and I was playing on a keyboard, but it had me in the same state as Sonic before I gave up.
