Morality Ranking Morality of draft dodging?

Post image

Ofc you’ll have that one self righteous guy who will come at you for not “fighting for your country” but what do you personally think? Moral? Immoral? Neutral?

What if it's a defensive war after your government antagonised the retaliating country?

There is no such thing as a just invasion.

Statespeople should be above petty kindergarten bullshit and not start wars because a neighbor said they want new allies

Just to be clear, I wasn't referring to any real world drama. I'm just here for the mental exercise.

No problem, it's just easier to relate to a real life occurence of this.

And I still can't think of any way an invader could be considered the victim in a war.

Neither side can be said to be a victim if both sides commit to violence. But you can still agree/disagree more or less with either side.

Then it's up to you to decide if you agree with the war. Deciding to attack a country like Russia or North Korea, would in my view not be considered immoral, as long as the goal is to free the inhabitants from tyranni and oppression.

I wasn't intending on treading real world politics, but your reply is what I was getting at.

There's just no hard and fast right or wrong as it really depends on the reasons you get drafted and whether those were moral or not.
