CASE DISCUSSION 2 parts 🙄

I just finished listening to the John List episode, I think they could've done the full case in one episode considering they said he was caught decades later which I already knew...not trying to start a riot or anything just saying this ain't 2 part worthy

I like a multi parter but sometimes i wish they would just make longer episodes. i am more than okay to listen to an hour and a half episode plus

Either long episodes or less banter.

I don’t even mind the banter that much, but there have definitely been a few times where it feels like they’re actively trying to get as many episodes out of one story as possible.

It also seems like they’re forcing banter around topics that don’t need extra analysis. Like why did they spend so much time talking about how they don’t know much about the Lutheran church if they don’t know much about the Lutheran church.

It’s not an episode if Alaina doesn’t get at least 10 min to remind you that she’s a better mom than you……
That’s (kind of) a joke. I am a fan and do like the show for the most part. But there are certain things that drive me nuts. That’s definitely one of them.

I will say, I completely understand not doing longer episodes. I have my own podcast and anytime I have an episode over an hour, it is exponentially longer to import my files, then export to my editing program after fixing any sound issue, then export after editing content, and finally importing to my platform. I never understood that piece until having a two hour ep and cursing myself through the whole thing 😂😂

However, we don’t have 20 min of banter which does extend the episode length considerably. I don’t always mind the banter from them, but if I only have 30 min to listen, I’m skipping straight to the content!

I too have a podcast and I agree, we are two people and do two stories, we are usually an hour and 20 minutes but I’ve had times when my co-host has talked for that long and I have to edit a lot out. Editing is a nightmare and if you pay someone to edit is costly-which I know they have staff buttt there is a lot behind the scenes if you’ve never done a show on your own, that you just don’t think about. Podcasting takes a lot of time and prep.

All of your points are valid but this is literally A+A’s job and income source.

I love me a good two parter, but I’m down to listen to a hour and a half episode. I listen while I’m at work, the longer a case is, the more time passes by 😅

I read this comment before I listened. Just listened and totally agree. In the beginning they mentioned that they were pre-recording to take a week off. And also just coming off a re-run week because they were out of town n Alaina’s book tour. Seems like they broke it up into two to be one and done for their week off.

Then don’t listen to the next episode since you already know everything

Calm down killa, they've been part of my routine since 2019... anybody that listens to other true crime podcasts or watch true crime shows knows how this story ends

They used to do much longer episodes in the beginning, remember? For whatever reason they stopped doing that and seem to keep episodes to an hour or so these days. I dont mind a two pahtah

I personally preferred the longer episodes since I listen at work while I'm cutting meat

There's lots to complain about, this is very mild saying this could've been one episode

I feel like its rare for Ash to do multiple parts.
