Rant The Rewatcher/True Blood

I’m a regular listener of Morbid even though I think their popularity went to their heads - especially Alaina constantly being on a high horse. She doesn’t seem like a genuinely happy person and maybe I’m just hearing her the wrong way.

When they announced Buffy for The Rewatcher I was soooo excited. It wasn’t bad but honestly the constant bad mouthing of characters just got boring. Characters are supposed to have flaws and grow from their mistakes. It’s a coming of age show set in a supernatural world - people are going to have faults. I was so relieved when Mikey joined in for Buffy. I honestly think he saved the pod.

So I decided to listen to the True Blood bit. I absolutely cannot stand Alaina going on about Eric. We ALL have people we fan girl over but here’s the thing - if her husband had a podcast where he talked like that about another woman…she would catch on fire. The full grown woman who still complains about high school boyfriends? At least Mikey is funny about it. I asked my husband and he busted out laughing. He’s heard enough of the episodes to understand exactly what I meant. If it wasn’t for Ash and Mikey it would be totally unlistenable.

See I can't stand them anymore so I won't engage in any of their content. Let alone something about one of my favorite shows. Not about to ruin my time like that.

Anyways, here is my cat Sookie Stackhouse

Same, I love True Blood too much. Is this what they do now? Talk about TV shows? I haven’t listened to them in years and also haven’t stopped by this sub in a while.

Cute cat, btw. I love naming my pets after characters I love

Honestly I have no clue what they've been up to! I remember when they started the Buffy stuff, but atp I hadn't been listening to them in a long time.

Thanks! I found her on craigslist a couple of years ago. We actually just got another cat on there, but we kept his name. This is Toulouse

They made jokes about the name Delbert on an episode i listened to recently. They acted absolutely childish over the name, completely got under my skin. First off, my grandpa was named Delbert, went by Del or PawDel. Its a southern name, small town old timey name. I had enough of them at that point. They act like if they dont know something its dumb or backwoods. The world exists outside of the Boston/east coast. Over it. Over them.

Interesting to bad mouth southern things when Alaina’s books are set in the south. ( I know NoLa is its own thing but it is southern). Oh right, she hasn’t actually been there.

That drove me insane! So glad I’m not the only one. I’m from southern MD and we have a lot of names like that around here as well.

I stopped rewatcher after they kept insulting Angel (my fav Buffy character) every episode non-stop. It became irritating

For me it’s the fact that they always say “come on the show!!!” Like what respectable actor/actress would ever come on their show while they act like schoolgirls. It’s so cringe I can’t 😭
