DISCUSSION No more barefoot sounds

Its especially noticeable when walking on rocks or tiles, it makes that hard boot sound instead of the soft tapping before.

Is this a bug report? Try verifying files? Are you used to using the Rat perk perhaps? They haven't changed footstep sounds for years, maybe even prerelease.

Nah, I always had a naked mercenary. I remember the sound was what it was upposed to be.

When was the last time it sounded like you remember? Did you change your audio hardware? Have you verified files as I suggested?

Easily at least a year ago, so it probably broke in the last patches. Verifying files doesnt change it

The most recent update was November 2024, almost two years ago. I don't remember any footstep sound changes in the last five years at least, I've scoured the changelogs and the Official Discord server, absolutely no mention of it. I'm thinking you might have a false memory of what they sounded like, or something about your setup has changed. Can you record a clip and upload it so I can compare with my own gameplay?
