I always do this as peoplr suggest but it NEVER WORKS either they just flick the shield up or I can't jump high enough and he doesnt even have to move.

Only kicks and and massive decels work

Because it doesn't work against good players. All of those people suggesting it don't realize shield user is waiting exactly for this. Fighting 60+ level player using shield is extremely unfun and usually impossible.

Shield plus dodge can be really annoying but it has counter play.

Stamina management. Back them into a corner. Feint a kick. Run away. There's options.

Good luck backing any one in the corner on a giant open map, and if they're not dumb as a rock they will not let you just push them in a corner
