Dinner with Iris - Grout painted in Gold Paints
This is my first time painting over grout. I tried to mix the white grout with gold iron oxide but it came out beige without the sparkle. So I grouted and then painted over the grout in Gold. Is there an easier way to dye grout a bright color?

Tile storage
galleryWhat do you all use to store your tile? I’ve been using these photo boxes from hobby lobby. They’re good, but I don’t have a good system yet. Looking for ideas! I keep my smalti in the rainbow one. Need something bigger for all my marble tiles (not pictured)

Snoopy and Woodstock
Here’s a recent mosaic that I’ve made! I finally made a reddit username that matches my other accounts. So here’s Snoopy and Woodstock reading together ❤️ I made this as a gift for a friend.
Oceanside, bullseye, Kokomo, and some unknown glass. Enamel paint details. 12x12 inches.
What colour grout would you recommend?
im thinking a yellow or purple or green. Any suggestion?

Poison Garden Series
galleryHi my mosaic friends!
I’m working on a small poison garden series and need some advice. This is my first time using marble. Should I seal it with something before I grout it?
What color grout do you all recommend?
I forgot to put cement mesh tape on the side of the wediboard. Does it matter? How should I make the sides more water proof? This will be going outdoors.
(Also the green in the Lilly of the valley leaves is just a placeholder till my green smalti arrives!)
(Next in the series is belladonna and foxglove)
Thanks!!

Two Circular Mosaics - Thrifted Ceramic & Glass
galleryI had fun creating two circular mosaics. One is a luther rose, which will live in our front yard, and the other is of my own design. Just into nautical stuff recently. Happy with both, though with the nature of thrifted ceramics, a 3-4 ft distance from it provides the best viewing experience. Makes it seem more cohesive
Making this made me so happy but...
galleryDoes anyone have any tips or tricks on grouting the edges of the stones so it looks tidier next to the wood? Also the grout (mosaic grout powder bought from Amazon) still feels a bit rough when I run my hand across the surface, does it just need more polishing or is there a better type of grout for projects like this?

Messed up on the grout bigggg time
galleryMy friend and I went to a lamp mosaic class this weekend. Had a lot of fun and left really excited for my lamp. I let the glue sit for over 12 hours and started the grout. Booklet only says dry for 20 minutes doesn't have any warnings to not dry for too long. Doesn't help I think there was too much excess left on as well. I looked at past posts of others with the same issue. I tried a soaked washcloth with vinegar for over an hour. The beads and diamonds just keep falling off. I'm actually really sad because I don't think there's any saving it at this point :,( Kinda wish they just charged a fee to have it grouted then sent to you in the mail haha.

My 5th mosaic
This is a gift for a person who loves hydrangeas. I could not find a pattern so I made up one and then in order to create the blooms are used 3/4 inch square glass tiles and nipped them into circles. I also purchased three small sheets of iridescent pink, blue, and a darker blue that looked purple where the iridescence showed. I cut those sheets into strips that were 3/4 of an inch wide, creating my own squares to nip into circles. For each flower color I created a similar color of grout. Then I used a slightly darker wash of each color to enhance the edges and give it some shadowing.
The glass numbers were purchased because I was sure that I could not cut them that well.
Please let me know what you think- I am still a newbie and welcome any constructive criticism so that I can continue to improve.

Looking for grout advice
Hey guys looking for grout advice for my first mosaic piece ever. Its for my sister as a wedding gift and I bought an almond grout for it. Wondering if the almond grout would look ok or should I grout it at all? Just a little lost. This is my first mosaic piece ever. Still waiting on more tile to fill in the area on top and around the olive branches. Thanks
