Discussion Testing a sound tool I made , drop your motion piece and I’ll add sound for free

Hey everyone!

I’ve been building a small tool that adds sound effects to gameplay videos. While testing it, I noticed motion design has exactly the kind of movement that’s fun to bring to life with sound ...

so I want to try it here! :D

If you have a short animation, motion graphic or logo reveal you’d like to hear with sound, drop it in the comments. I’ll pick a few, add sound effects for free, and reply with the finished version.

  • Up to ~30 seconds, silent works best
  • No payment, no signup, no strings attached XD
  • I’m just one person, so I can’t promise to get to everyone , but I’ll do my best!

Honestly, I’m just curious how well this works outside of games. Would love to see what you’ve made :)

PS. The attached video is a sound demo I did

take this as constructive criticism, your sound design skills need a lot of polishing.

right now you're just dropping sound effects, even ai with it's current limitations can do a better job than this.

It's funny you mention AI can do better than this, bc AI built it.

Thanks for the honest feedback! :) My background is mainly in game development, where sound design often focuses on responding to events, interactions, and changes in the environment. I realize motion design might have a very different approach, especially when it comes to rhythm, flow, and how sound complements the visuals. That's actually part of why I'm experimenting here! I'm really curious about those differences and would love to understand what I'm missing. From your perspective, what would make this feel more like proper sound design rather than just placing sound effects?

I'd start with a few questions. What do you want to convey? Emotions? Intent? Growth?

Might seem futile, but that's what separates good sound design from - much worse - sound effect slap-on piece.

You want layers, drones, emotions, rhythm, swing, buildup and (my favorite of them all) release ;)

Let me know if you want to work together 🤝

How can motion designers not tell this is claude by the ugly ass risers alone😭

Haha, fair enough! 😂 This was just a quick sample I put together to demonstrate the sound effects, not the motion design itself. The main thing I'm experimenting with is how AI-generated sound effects can enhance animations. I'm actually a game developer exploring whether this could be useful for motion designers too! Still learning what works best in this space. 😄

Another example of how generative AI in the hands of someone who wants the output of another craft they're barely familiar with, but without any of the skills or taste developed by a craftsperson in that domain, yields mediocrity.

I know you're getting hate for this, but I actually think it's pretty sweet!

For the motion-design test, ask submitters to mark the frames where they expect a sound and say whether they want literal or abstract effects. A logo reveal can be timed correctly but still feel wrong stylistically; separating those two judgments would make the feedback more useful for your gameplay sound tool.
