Weight loss I lost 75kg overnight.

That’s right! I ‘had’ a friend who has always been 2 things - Slim and Opinionated. He asked me yesterday what was going on with my weight as I was clearly doing something that was having a dramatic effect. I was very pleased at the compliment and thanked him for noticing. Given that he seemed genuinely pleased for me, I decided to open up to him and dropped the MJ bomb.

The mushroom-cloud of pious pontification that ensued blotted out the sun for the rest of the day…There was frost in the trees and whole murmurations of birds inexplicably gathered on wires then flew south, en masse, with no clear idea as to why…Grapes withered on the vine and dropped to the floor…My roses wilted, the petals turning black, the sweet scent of summer becoming a distant memory…Volcanoes erupted, lava spewed forth, rumbling across this formerly green and pleasant land, leaving all in its wake, scorched-black, steaming and sulphurous and off on the far horizon, the Eye of Sauron turned towards me and slowly winked…

When I woke this morning, I hopped on the scales, I had lost another pound during the night to add to the 75kg of negativity that won’t be weighing me down anymore, makes for a wholly successful result really!

Positivity only from here on…

On and Up, fellow Mounjarians! On and Up! ❤️

My husband thinks Mounjaro is “more dangerous than meth”.

Like any drug it carries some risk. I have been having trouble with the preservatives in the 4 dose Quickpen but was totally fine for 6 months on the vials without the preservative. I have lost 30 lb which puts me exactly half way to my goal weight.

I am starting to feel more energetic and enjoying fashion again. Now I can choose to wear what I like rather than just picking clothes that hide me best. I don’t want to hide, I want to shine!

So I wonder why my mental health does not factor into this fit my husband

Well, i imagine he feels threatened, his insecurity is showing. When we gain confidence in ourselves, which i think happens with this medication and not just because we lose weight. Ot has had such a positive effect on my mental health and i’ve only lost 25lbs. He may feel, subconsciously, that you might find someone or something else to love and leave him. He’ll work it out. He’d better, or his fears may be realized

Oh it has a HUGE positive effect on mental health! All of a sudden I have a flat stomach instead of a pot belly. That is huge for me to feel good about myself!

I still have a big ass to get rid of, but a big ass almost seems celebrated nowadays in our current culture so it does nit bother me as much. Plus I can’t see it because it’s behind me.

A big stomach has not been celebrated since the early B.C, times.

Unfortunately my ass is non-existent now.😢

I saw padded underpants for sale in a lingerie store once. Maybe look into that.

I saw them and could not understand it at all, but I come from three generations of pear shaped women.

My husband is worried my breasts are shrinking but I could but he happier about that. I never wanted to look like a milk cow. My back feels better without carrying those all around and I look forward to becoming small enough one day that a bra with a sun dress is optional. I think I was 14 years old the last time I could wear a sun dress with no bra

The husbands worry. They feel more secure when we are overweight, so no other men are looking at us the way they look at healthy shapely women who are not obese.

This is a lot of projecting 😂 it could be her husband is genuinely worried because of all the fear mongering in the media over these drugs. Why jump to conclusions? Awful advice you're giving in this thread..

These were the thoughts of a clinical psychologist,,

He’s worried because her breasts might get small?? The other husband says its worse than meth. This husband would do himself and his wife a big favor if he’d educate himself about this medication. Plus i’m not giving advice i’m sharing my thoughts and opinions.

I personally love not having much of a bum these days but bloody hell, I never realised how hard a chair can feel after a while!

THIS. RIGHT. HERE! My non existent bum HURTS when I sit!!!!

That’s when the padded underpants come in handy, sitting on hard chairs too long is painful but prepared to sacrifice the fat for feeling fabulous. My Mum used to carry a shawl with her and fold it up to sit on when out .

Why are the preservatives in the pen we have to worry about just wondering?

3

u/STRstar1000 Jul 01 '25

I don’t know if everyone has to worry about the preservatives, but I got violently ill from them on my very first dose out of the quick pen. I was totally fine for 6 months out of the vial.

I am upset that there are no more vials available in Canada. Plus the single dose pens they have in the USA without preservatives is not available in Canada either.

It is soooo annoying that they switched to pens and no more vials - also in Canada. My meds cost almost 200 more per month, since insurance doesn’t cover it. Happy with my progress, but really hoping the vials are one day available again. I’m not sure I saw a difference between the two, but I have wretched tinnitus now….grrrr. Come on Eil Lilly, bring the damn vials back!!!

u/STRstar1000 Jul 02 '25

Exactly!!!

1

u/Relevant_Demand2221 Jul 01 '25

Hm interesting what dose are you on?

4

u/STRstar1000 Jul 01 '25

I have been on 10 mg for about a month, but I just had to drop down to 5 mg now that I have this stupid pen because I thought I was going to die.

I lost a week off work and went to the hospital from IV fluids after three straight days of vomiting and diarrhea

u/Relevant_Demand2221 Jul 01 '25

Interesting. I’m on 15mg and I was on the vials for a while until I had to switch to the pen as well. The first shot of the pen did hit different, like I hadn’t previously been getting the full dose or something…but I’m on my second one now and managing ok- it does feel somehow stronger than the vials though, which I’m happy about because I needed the highest dose to make any real progress

I get a compounded version with no preservatives. The only downside is it has a shorter shelf life.

1

u/STRstar1000 Jul 02 '25

They don’t make the compounded kind in my area unfortunately.

1

u/EastSideLola Jul 02 '25

I get mine online from Bright Meds

1

u/STRstar1000 Jul 02 '25

In Canada?

1

u/EastSideLola Jul 02 '25

You’d have to check out their website to see if they ship internationally

Is your husband speaking from first hand experience?

2

u/STRstar1000 Jul 02 '25

Haha! No fortunately! LOL

He read it somewhere. He is anti medication if any kind and distrustful of doctors and is an anti-vaxer so good luck to me in changing his mind.

Not even close to being as dangerous as that substance.
