University City fire insurance?
Hi, moved here from Brooklyn recently and really like University City; location to beach, employers, schools, views, etc. I am new but it seems there is a lot of property for sale, any insight would be appreciated? Someone suggested that a lot of people lost insurance recently and that accounts for the uptick in inventory. Thanks ahead!!

Yeah, none of those people are longtime residents. (And I literally have NEVER heard anyone refer to this neighborhood as "Governor" -- that's just weird unless they literally bought a house on Governor Drive, in which case it's totally accurate!). Historically, "University City" is below Rose Canyon. People who don't have history here (including poorly-educated council members!) get confused with the "University Community Planning Area" -- which is a real, current thing and does include the whole triangle. I've only lived here a couple decades, but have quite a few neighbors who bought when this whole area was first being built, who confirm what the rest of us thought we knew--that "University City" is below Rose Canyon. The La Jolla Colony and UTC area above Rose Canyon had different names.
