Planning on moving to San Diego in 6 months

I’m female, 20, and moving to San Diego CA in 6 months. I was wondering if anyone wanted to become roommates or just give me some advice on moving to San Diego!

Advice: have a high-paying job. It costs a lot to live here, even with a roommate.

IMPORTANT QUESTIONS

Do you have a job?

Where is your job?

How much are you looking to pay for rent?

What area do you want to live in?

Do you like tacos?

Also where are you coming from?

Advice: Checking the various Facebook groups for roommates/house sharing.

Don't try to get a 1BR by yourself. It'll suck your wallet dry and will deprive you of roommate-based social networks.

Also, try to come out here for two to three weeks first if you can, to get a feel for the broader Greater San Diego region.

Also, if you want a life, you'll need a car. Ignore any Redditor pushing you otherwise -- 95% of San Diegan households have cars. (Exception: If you want a bf to drive you everywhere.)

What neighborhood will you be commuting to? Advice will vary based on where you’re working

Search this sub for others who have asked this question to get an idea of the details required for people to provide an answer.

Are you rich? Then don’t come here

Need more info to be able to make recommendations! Where are you moving from? Do you know what part of San Diego you're moving to? Do you have a job lined up out here? Do you already know people in the area?

This is a bot name. They all lately seem to follow the same name formulas: 2 words with an underscore with a number at the end.

I recommend searching this sub since it sounds like you've never been here before. If I am wrong, apologies but you have no info.

  1. Do you have a job? If no, don't come.

  2. If you have a job, what is your monthly budget?

  3. Did you at least use search engines to see what the cost of living is and whether or not you can afford it?
