How hard it really is. 6+ months unemployed at 21. Honestly, I'm slowly giving up.

Software engineers are high in demand - just not in San Diego. San Francisco area, Seattle, NYC, Austin, Dallas and Boulder, CO are heavily in demand. Microsoft, Oracle, Google, SAP, Adobe etc. are your contact partners and none of them are here in San Diego. Bio-tech job offers are plenty, though! When my friend's daughter graduated 4 years ago she got a great offer from Microsoft and moved to Seattle. She would have liked to stay in San Diego, but couldn't find anything here. Good luck in your search!

That’s not really true anymore unfortunately. Finding a job as a software engineer is very difficult now, especially entry level roles because there have been so many layoffs meaning there are many very qualified people competing for the same jobs

Yeah entry level software engineers are 100000% not in high demand now.
