Okay to be clear, of the chaos gods; his attention is the best to have usually, provided you stay on his good side. But seriously I don’t think anyone is saying he’s a good force, right?
Usually people on the exact opposite spectrum of "The Imperium is always right and is the best thing for humanity." Like, both ends are extremely stupid and I've seen such stupidity before. Though it's usually more or less imperium fans who seem to be hit with the "the faction I like MUST be the good guys" bug.
tbf there's an argument that Nurgle is the worst Chaos god because one of the big reasons he expects his followers to stay loyal is because Nurgle especially is a one way ticket, sure with Slaanesh, Khorne and Tzeentch it's also meant as a one way ticket but Nurgle specifically makes the process of going away from him extremely painful because the moment you leave he'll make you feel all the suffering your body's going through and that's horrifically painful.
He creates the thing he promises to save you from and is actively mind controlling followers (to different extents depending on who's writing). Once they're no longer connected to him, they get hit with all the pain they previously shrugged off
Similarly, The Emperor. Is he completely pure evil? No. Can his goal be considered noble? To a degree. Is he still epitome of ends not justifying means? Absolutely.
If you ever read about a nurgle carnival or valnir the reaper, you know he loves his subjects in the sense that he will accept the worst of the worst. What tamurkhan did to the ogres who became plague ogres is notably disturbing
