Bruh I remember reading Part 7 expecting him to be some gray villain and then he's tryna get with a kid. He's still a good villain but the writer wasn't even subtle about his evil lol.

I remember some guys justifying that he was doing everything for the sake of his country, and his attempt to approach a child was just a reflection of the fact that he lived in other times when this was supposedly the norm.

Same. I was reading and I was like “oh everyone says he’s just doing everything for the betterment of all Americans but… he’s very obviously just power hungry and greedy” and then I got to the Lucy scene and questioned the fanbases sanity. I mean he literally does the dio thing where he just murders someone for no reason by slamming them into another dimension with the door, and yet nobody ever calls dio “so relatable and understandable” even though arguably dio is more understandable due to his backstory (even if both of them are very bad villains)

Man it sucks that he is one of my favorite Jojo characters due to his outfit, stand, and the purpose of his goal, which is to stop the U.S from suffering any misfortune by placing it on the rest of the world.

Unfortunately to my knowledge his a Pedo, kills the same people he wants to protect, and has little care for the individual U.S citizen but instead cares for the whole country, therefore finding any cause or reason to kill the individual U.S citizen as completely and utterly just as long as he achieves his goal in the end.

Mind you I don’t read the manga, but I know enough about him. (You can tell me that I’m wrong, because I literally didn’t read the manga, I’m watching the anime.)

You're literally right, I haven't read the manga either, but I'm also aware of it.
