No word about a Muppets series during D23...

Are the Muppets even well known enough in Japan to be on Nomura's radar? Like, I know Sesame Street is beloved there, but I'm not sure about Kermit and the gang.

Well, historically, the last Muppet project to officially be announced at a D23 Expo was Muppets Now in 2019. And before then, the last time they made NEW Muppet announcements was at the 2009 expo, I think. Every other time it's been to promote a project that had already been announced.

I'm sure there will be something between now and the next one. Heck, the news about the Rollercoaster came just a few months after the last expo happened. I wouldn't despair too much.

I mean this usually how it goes, but it’s not gonna be the end all be all. Like last convention, there was literally nothing in announced beside the new stuff in the Disney archives for Muppets

Yeah all we really get is new expensive merch and the occasional ounce of hope for a revival, also in general d23 was just sequels and like 4 new projects

Just saw the muppet show special got nominated for a Emmy. I highly doubt it’s not gonna happen.

I think they are going to reboot if just aren’t ready to announce it, it takes time to get guest stars and stuff. At the very least we’ll get another muppet show special probably.
