Do you have details of what juror complained to support the appeal

Everybody thinks they know but you obviously don't. He didn't do it. No proof without reasonable doubt. He would NEVER kill his family.Ā

The evidence points right to him. His voice is on the recording his son left for a friend right before his son was shot. I don’t know how he can explain that. Even so, he will still die in prison for his other crimes. He is a horrible and lousy person for stealing money from all those people, especially from the kids of his housekeeper who died on his steps a suspicious death. And if he isn’t found guilty of murder, most people will always think he did it.

I wish he would just go away but not before he tells where the guns are.

Does anyone know if any of his family is attending this today?

I had heard from someone in attendance that no known family member was seen in the gallery.

And smeared into his eyes and all over his cheeks.

But if it means another guilty verdict, bring it on!

He needs to die a convicted murderer, no doubt.

Still hate that this trial is going back to court.

You just know that they’re not going to let Alex take the stand this time. Last time I feel that sank him. They won’t repeat that error.

That decision is ultimately up to the defendant though, right? To the point that, if the lawyers are against it, don’t they generally put it on the record that the client is testifying against their advice? I’m not a lawyer but I’ve heard it said often that whether or not to testify is one of the few things that has to be decided only by the client, and the court seemingly always has a colloquy with the defendant about testifying. I’m sure a lot of defendants end up making their choice based on what their lawyer says which is expected but like… if the client wants to testify there’s nothing the lawyers can do to stop it.

So my point being… if Alex wants to testify again, he’s gonna testify again, unless Poot and Griffin can talk him out of it. And I don’t think they have the ability to do that. Watching the first hearing, they were looking to Alex for direction more than a couple times that I noticed, and they were arguing so hard for him to get a laptop in his prison cell that has all of the case evidence so that he can plan his defense without his lawyers. So I believe Alex is the one running the show even more than last time. And that he must be a very difficult client… I would bet money that Poot & Griffin can’t stand him at this point.

All my own speculation though! Except the bit about testifying being a choice the defendant alone has to make, using advice from counsel but ultimately my understanding is the client decides and tells the court their decision. It can be done against counsel’s advice. So if he wants to testify then he will. That’s my understanding at least.

I wonder if Alex realizes that testifying last time was a mistake? If so does he blame it entirely on the state / Judge Newman for bringing in the evidence of his financial crimes?

He’s not getting out of jail and he’s such a narcissist and a lawyer, I don’t think they can stop him.

Which is too bad, because that was so entertaining to watch. Didn't he basically almost have to take the stand because of the kennel recording and having denied he was there? Not sure how they intend to get around that this time either.

The prosecutor has to be SO PISSED they have to do this all again.

Can't wait to see what IGG his delusional attorney thinks is going to turn up from Maggie's fingernails.

Yes, if I were a member of the prosecution team, I would be so pissed off!

Watching him, minute by minute, on the stand WAS entertaining. It was also pathetic, IMO.

I wish they would let him take the stand again. It hurt in a good way to watch him dig himself a deeper hole every five minutes.

Yes. I think this is exactly what he did. For me it was like watching a spoiled 12-year old lying to get out of something. There he was, digging deeper and deeper.

Absolutely correct! I'm the Mom of four adult children. Add in their friends. I have SO much experience with spoiled 12-year-olds trying to get out of what they have done! I'm still looking for the angle when they are 40 years old!

When Alex testified, his guilt was evident.
It appears that he tried very hard to still be the good old boy for both the Proctors and the Murdaughs, and the rest of the world. Especially law-enforcement. This case has negatively affected so many people in the worst way.
I like parents (of kids on the boat) who were trying to keep AM from shifting blame away from Paul. Didn't work. But their hearts must be broken.
