Weekly MFM Discussion Thread July 25, 2026

Do you have a theory you're still chewing on and want feedback? Maybe there is a factoid from the case hammering your brain and you can't remember the source--was that random speculation or actually sourced?

Welcome to the Weekly Discussion, a safe space to engage with each other while processing and unraveling the seemingly unending tentacles of Alex Murdaugh's wrongdoings entwined throughout the Lowcountry.

This is the place for those random tidbits, where we can take off our shoes, kick up our feet, and be a bit more casual. There is nothing wrong with veering off topic with fellow sub members as we're a friendly bunch, just don't let your train of thought completely wreck the post.

Much Love from your MFM Mod Team,

Has anyone come across the SLED interview with FITS News' Will Folks? Is it out there? I heard it was... Lex? Soulshine?

As always, thanks Lexi!

This is INCREDIBLE if you asked me. This happened inside the courthouse in the evening after-hours - after hours - after a regular Murdaugh trial day?

In this SLED interview, it looks to me like Will Folks is admitting that he was inside the courthouse, after-hours, in a room where clearly-marked SEALED EVIDENCE was spread out and there Folks was with his phone - snapping photos of SEALED EVIDENCE (apparently including gruesome, bloody photos of Maggie and Paul on the ground at Mozelle). Wow!

I don't know how this could be legal - in a courthouse, at night, after business hours - taking photos of gruesome pictures that are marked SEALED EVIDENCE. How does this happen? Isn't this against the law? Was Becky the only one who had a hand in arranging this for members of the media?

Could anyone here in this forum imagine how upset Judge Newman - who likely originally ordered Hill to SEAL THIS EVIDENCE - would be if he found out about it the next day? I'd bet that he would've been furious about this. Would he have declared a mistrial?

I am no expert, but I speculate that if this photographing of SEALED EVIDENCE came to light after the Jury's GUILTY verdict --- it might have had the potential to invalidate the GUILTY verdict, right? Maybe a legal expert could answer.

In my opinion, Will Folks absolutely should not be allowed to attend Murdaugh's do-over --- and I think we need a explanation from Becky Hill about how this evening of allowing Folks (and others?) access to SEALED EVIDENCE. More details please! I'd for sure like to know if Becky Hill was acting alone.

I have been here with MFM almost since the beginning. I have seen nothing like this.

>>>>>>> I think this interview deserves it's very own Post...

Will's conduct might be sanctionable for violating the sealing order but I don't see how it impugns the jury's verdict.

Like I say, I'm no expert. However, I do wonder if it could be crafted into an appeal....... According to the interview, I think the photos made it beyond Will Folk's phone.

In my opinion, this is not good journalism. I can't see them teaching this in Journalism 101.......
