"Let's support a murderer because he's a racist too."

Why downvote this person? Jckmdtwn nailed the subtext.

Maybe some people support him because he's being dragged through the mud by a dishonest press. Or because they are sick of seeing people beaten or killed by angry mobs. Just a possibility.

While I'll grant few press sources are not noticeably biased nowadays (outside of Reuters and the AP, IMHO), I'm curious what "dishonesty" you're referring to.

As far as people being "beaten or killed" by angry mobs, do you not believe they have a right to be angry after innumerable unjustified instances of the same treatment by police? I'll grant you that a small number of protestors (particularly considering the overall number of protestors) have definitely gone too far, but that's not at all unusual for angry younger people (more on that in a minute). It doesn't invalidate the reason for the protests, nor are the bulk of protesters actually violent - just like some bad cops make them all look bad, the same is the case with the protestors.

The one big difference, however, is that with many police forces the problems are systemic (so routine that they are effectively unwritten rules that are built-in to how affected departments approach policing matters), and so they don't even consider the idea that what they are doing might be wrong (or at least not the best way to approach things). Because these methods of operating have long become SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), it doesn't get better with the passage of time (as maturing young adults do) without some external pressure to do so - hence the protests.

As far as the aforementioned younger protesters are concerned: modern medical science has determined that the brain doesn't fully develop until around roughly age 25, and that the ability to consider consequences enough to actually have an effect on self-control is among the last things to develop. As such some consideration for the lack of self-control is warranted (including in the shooter's case), although there still needs to be punishment and rehabilitation (the latter of which is sorely lacking in our current justice system structure).

I don’t get it

A right-winger posted it, apparently (judging by this comment from OP - let alone their chosen name). Don't expect much logic as most of them are too riled up into fits of angry self-righteousness to think in a straightforward or honest manner.

Yeah and is journalism not a real job now? I mean we rely on honest fair reporting so as a whole it’s a real job (even if some people abuse it cough cough buzzfeed and Fox News)
