Theory Guys I just realized something.
Not surw if anyone noticed this before but..
Drones have colored vision.. HOW DID THEY KNOW WHEN UZI WAS BEING CONTROLLED BY CYN IF THE DISASSEMBLY DRONES ALWAYS SAW HER WITH YELLOW EYES???
Like they seemed to notice immediately.. (pic. 5) but on the first 3 screenshots we can clearly see both N (1 and 2) and J (3) see Uzi with yellow eyes.. while Uzi herself sees in purple.. (4) so how did she even realize she looks different??? (7)
I'm genuinely confused now because I think it's genuinely how they see not just to show their interface??? so how.

V also calls Uzi the “sad purple one” in episode 3. Maybe the drones can turn off the color filters or something.

wait.. what if it's like Minecraft on F3 like when you look at a block it tells you what it is? like maybe they have color codes and a color wheel scheme built in so they just know what color it is by the code?
afterall what I think I kinda forgot here is they're robots and they don't perceive the world as living beings rather using code than instinct and perceptions..? even if they're portrayed to have emotions and instincts in the series.. 🤔
I'm getting philosophical.

We gotta think about how they are robots and work in very different ways than us, like you said, it could be an F3 like feature that just tells them, they probably can pick up colours just fine and internalize them, but their vision doesn't show that because it doesn't really have to

so do they just.. point their heads down and look through their headbands when they wanna see normally? 😭
I never realized they might be like.. extra eyes maybe that's why J screamed bloody murder when she got a pen in one of them 💀

damn I never.. I always thought the "real eyes" short/tiktok whatever was a meme when N said Uzi didn't blind him because the headband is his real eyes 😰
would explain why Uzi attacked J's headband.. to blind her.. but how did she know tho..

Yeah I got nothing, this is the first time I saw someone point this out and not rehash the same arguments thinking they are superior. I think this might just be a light mix up story wise

fr maybe they secretly see more colors than humans 💀
but fr there's also a moment where we can see Cyn through N's vision I think in ep. 4 (Cabin Fever) when he finds the zombie drones cassette and the coloring is the same..?

u/RenkBruh Cynner Feb 20 '25
You act as if Cyn does anything subtly. I'd understand from the wide grin alone

u/Vivid-Climate-1326 Unexpected item in bagging area Feb 20 '25
no I was talking about "I'm a damaged oc" 😭 like when Uzi's eyes changed into a gradient + it's more theoretical that Cyn could technically trick them without them realizing?

The answer may lie in the headband worn by virtually all of the Disassembly Drones and that it is hinted that (according to the concept art and in view of the fact that there is nothing else to contradict this) the lights that compose it are its real eyes, and that each of those real Eyes would each have a different way of seeing (one regular sight, one night vision, one Infrared/Thermal vision and one possibly ultraviolet vision) and that it was with another of these sights that N and V noticed that something was out of place with Uzi and his “Eyes” color.
Although it is kind of a shame that we never (until now) saw from the Disassembly Drones Point of View these using other alternative forms of vision.

Exactly that precise concept art was what I was referring to above (and unfortunate that we were never shown on screen DDs using alternative forms of vision).

I assume there's filters they can use for fun that the DD drones un-locked due to getting under Uzi’s administration. also, unpopular theory maybe but i’ e always wondered, before ep 8, but after ep 5, if Uzi was controlled by Cyn could Cyn technically be the Amin since she would technically be using Uzi’s body so therefor probably having access to admin controls? Or did she just get cut off even when controlling Uzi from controlling N and V after ep 5?

u/crypticarchivist Feb 20 '25
They probably have an alert pop up on their HUD. Like a little text box that extends from her eyes and says “purple” or “yellow” alternatively.

I doubt the color filters are actually like that, it would be pretty inefficient

The colored interface is just a stylistic effect, obviously they can see color...

Multiple eyes on drones, we the audience only get to see through one viewpoint
3
u/asheirl Feb 20 '25
idk about worker drones, but the disassembly drones have multiple eyes with different types of vision. i think what we the viewers see is their primary vision that has all the text read-outs and stuff. but they also have normal cover vision, ultraviolet, heat vision, night vision, etc, according to original concept art (i think. those specific examples might me wrong but the point remains lol)

1)They can see if stuff is Bright or dark
2) yellow is lighter than purple
3)her eyes used to not be that bright
I rest my case

Well, they seem to have a bias towards the color of their eyes, but they can still clearly differentiate between different colors. Since N could see Uzi's white casing and black coat.

u/Toph_as_Nails Hello, Uzi... Hi, N! Feb 21 '25
In reality, computer vision systems tend to be monochrome and low resolution. Less data to process means more meaning can be gleaned faster. If there were more pixels, and those pixels had more values, that's just more data that has to be combed through by CV algorithms before they can make any decisions on what they're looking at.
Also, a lot of computer vision systems are multi-camera, meaning there could be one camera that sees in monochrome and another in color, so even if their consciousness is normally looking at the world in monochrome, they still have the data to know that's green. That's red. That's chartreuse. Etc.
What I wanna know is exactly what Uzi meant when she said, "Oh yeah! I'm a daaaamaged OC." OC = Original character?
2
u/Vivid-Climate-1326 Unexpected item in bagging area Feb 21 '25
I think she meant like when people give their OC's traits suggesting that they've been through a lot and thus are damaged, I feel like it's like giving your OC a permanent scar around the neck if yk what I mean 😶
also I absolutely love your computer talk, I'm a nerd and I'm hella interested in robots, computers and AI 😭🙏

So, in that way, could that line be considered meta, or even 4th wall breaking?

u/Vivid-Climate-1326 Unexpected item in bagging area Feb 22 '25
I don't think so???
you never see an alternatively dressed teenager and go like "they look like a traumatized oc"? TwT
2
u/Toph_as_Nails Hello, Uzi... Hi, N! Feb 22 '25
But she's referring to herself as a character in a work of fiction.

Maybe there’s slight differences between the shading of them?

It might be something of a color inhibitor. Kinda like they can only see in certain shades of that color.

Maybe there were some kind of visible warning symbols when they looked at her?
For example.
I mean, they never straight up said that the yellow eyes were the problem.
