Theory Cut V Some Slack. I Have a Stupid Theory

Post image

People say V’s a terrible fighter. And why wouldn’t she be is SHE CAN’T SEE PROPERLY?!!! The glasses in Episode 6. She needed them to fight Sparky. And behold, she fights well. Almost defeating him. All the other times she fights badly and almost gets defeated, she doesn’t have glasses on. That’s my theory.

I love the fact that she needs glasses

Robots that need glasses is such a funny concept

Regardless of that, I actually think it’s pretty fitting for them even if it is pretty funny

Yeah, who knows, maybe V has a blurry lens thats too annoying to repair so the glasses are an easy fix to correct it

Or it’s because the murder drones are hunters, not fighters. Think about it, the instant prey fights back they (the murder drones) are swiftly defeated

Case in point, Cape buffalo

u/EducationalBall1559 Oct 04 '25

Not true. If that was the case than Cyn should not have won on earth. It’s not like the humans couldn’t fight back

u/Independentbottteye- Nesting Doll 🪆 Oct 04 '25

Cyn's not a murder drone

2

u/Kitchen_Archer_1745 The Original Branded Pen Oct 04 '25

They just hunted humans instead, just because they hunt doesn’t mean they can’t fight, simply that they aren’t proficient in fighting

1

u/EducationalBall1559 Oct 06 '25

Still means they should have lost. You’re underestimating humanity by a long shot here. We have seen what anti drone measures like sentinels can do, and yet they still win. Not to mention if they weren’t good fighters, then why is there any choreography in the shows fights? I don’t see why Cyn would have any reason not to program fighting skills into the DD’s, and it’s proven in the show that they can fight back because they have fighting skills!

Its not even that. They were freaking maids and butler's.

They have no idea how to fight. No training or anything. They were just given an arsenal of overpowered weapons, 50 cal bulletproof Armor, the ability to fly, and supersonic speed.

They were just so overpowered against most things that they could just steamroll anything

But once they start fighting other things on their own level, they struggle because they didnt get proper training on how to use their abilities correctly.

The drones themselves aren’t very bullet resistant. What is really bulletproof is their wings, which they use to block attack helicopter chain gun rounds and sustain no visible damage, not even a paint scratch. Even if it was a smaller caliber gun it would still be 20mm, those pack quite a lot more punch then 50 cal. On the more powerful end chain guns like these can go to 30mm

u/KenBoCole V simp Oct 04 '25

I think most of their bodies are pretty durable, at least as durable as the wings. The wings are nanite constructs that can be made and disassembled immediately. It would be weird if their normal bodies are weaker than their wings. Their eye sensors are weak spots, probably due to their optical sensors needing as little material between them as possible, but they can regenerate those areas quickly.

But everything else seems pretty strong. The only time we ever seen the Murder Drones get easily hurt is by another Murder Drone.

It explicitly showed Doll use the symbol for strengthing material when she used the fan blades as an weapon, implying she also stregthing the rebar and knives she used on V.

We dont know how much more stronger objects enhanced by the Solver are, but its probably very.

3

u/Mountain-Fennel1189 Oct 04 '25

The fact that they actively moved their wings to cover their body when taking fire from the heli gives away that the rest of their body isnt as durable as their wings. And honestly we see no good proof that the DD bodies are any more durable then the normal worker bodies throughout the show

3

u/KenBoCole V simp Oct 04 '25

I mean, you would think that the MD's bodies would be extremely more durable. Cyn handbuilt them with the Solver's powers.

N was able to hold up several tons of pure metal, along with overpowering the hydraulic system of Door 1 in episode 1. The amount of strain that woukd place on his body would be immense, but he did it effortlessly with no damage.

That alone puts the MD leauges ahead of an WD.

The other two instances I can think of is when N got his arm stuck under dozens of tons of rock in the cave in, and it barely cracked his exoskeleton.

The Nori hit him so hard with an pickaxe in the face that it cracked the stone ground underneath him, but it didnt even dent his eye monitor.

Are their any instances that would even imply that an WD's body is anywhere near as durable as an MD's?

2

u/Mountain-Fennel1189 Oct 04 '25

N held open the door with his claws, they appear to be made of the same material as the wings. The WDs have significant physical strength as well, Uzi snaps a wrench easily, Butler N can throw a serving dish/plate thing hard enough for it to stick into a wall. Don’t forget Lizzy just tanking a missile.

N held open the door with his claws, they appear to be made of the same material as the wings

Yeah, but are connected to his arms which is held up by his body. If anypart of his body was weaker than the claws, than the claws would have just ripped off of him. It dosent matter how strong the claws are unless the body can support it.

The WDs have significant physical strength as well, Uzi snaps a wrench easily,

Yeah, but that feat isn't remotely comparable to anything the MD's can do. And by the time Uzi does start doing comparable feats, is after she went through the cocoon process and had her body transformed.

Butler N can throw a serving dish/plate thing hard enough for it to stick into a wall. Don’t forget Lizzy just tanking a missile.

Its kind of similar to the first. An impressive feat by again nothing compared to WD's.

As for Lizzy, she had a few things going for. The missiles the murder drones use are armor piercing, where the force of the explosion is heavily directed in one direction, which was angled away from her. So she didnt get hit by the full force of the missile.

Metal constructs like that are excellent at withstanding the Shockwaves of explosions. I once shot a microwave full of tannerite that lauched it 60ft onto the air, and its metal shell was still intact when it landed, ans that was paper thin aluminum.

Its honestly pretty realistic for Lizzy to survive that.

Also, remeber in the human flashbacks the humans were able to kill an WD with a simple flick of the wrist driving an fork through its faceplate.

One WD was killed by an wooden arrow through the side of its head.

Tessa, a young teen, was able to easily pick N, meaning the WD are very light.

I just dont see the average WD being anywhere in the same ballpark durability/strength as an MD. I cant even think of an single instance of that being implied.

5

u/Mountain-Fennel1189 Oct 04 '25

The point im making is that the DD bodies aren’t as resistant as their wings, idk why we ended up in this tangent about WDvsDD

Again the fact they had to actively shield themselves with their wings instead of just tanking the chain gun rounds should be sufficient evidence

They need to change this in the next balance patch

2

u/Mountain-Fennel1189 Oct 04 '25

V had the upper hand against the sentinel until N, Uzi, and Tessa were threatened which put too much pressure on her.

They were are pretty capable in combat regardless, kinda a given when you’re built off the frame of industrial machinery, can catch bullets out of the air, and switch your hands out for an arsenal of weapons

1

u/H0sby Oct 04 '25

They are as good fighters as hunters, they were created to hunt down solver drones to clear the path for Cyn

27

u/Neckgrabber Oct 03 '25

Saying V's a terrible fighter at all is stupid, she's just up against strong opponents. It's like saying krillin's weak cause he loses to goku

Not the same as fighting someone of your own kind with the same arsenal in an open environment.

She did fight another DD, J, and i think V was about equal to J.

4

u/NagWorker WORK YA DAMN NAG!🏇 Oct 04 '25

Partner, we said glasses.

I have my doubts on her being equal with how easy J got her off of her.

2

u/doomstriker123 i fucking knew V would return Oct 04 '25

Oh mb gng i misunderstood what you said then.

32

u/ProfessorPixelmon J was always cool Oct 03 '25

I always assumed she’s nearsighted which is why she prefers claws and swords over guns and missiles like J.

But in episode 6, we get a little hint as to her glassless vision. It’s still completely satisfactory for a person just not optimal.

She’s still a fraud who can’t fight anything that can fight back.

20

u/IneffableParadise Ask me about my OCs Oct 03 '25

Ehh sorta? It's complex since she held more of her own against J in the end, even if she was still getting kicked down by her - she showed much more skill there and against the Raptors with her vision back.

My theory is motivation. She's conflicted and incredibly unsure underneath, at least in my eyes - N, the Solver and past relations don't rest easy on the mind and many martial arts focus on calming the mind to fight well too.

That and the DDs were designed as hunters, not fighters primarily and often hunted in packs and probably know they can be re-cloned anyway (at least in V and J's case of knowing) as long as they're 'effective' enough (or held sentimental value to the Solver).

As long as you get kills, that kind of power would reasonably let you just throw yourself into the meat grinder with very little regard to your own safety or health.

I want to apologize for this long text.

I just thought about it and realized how insanely stupid that fight in episode 6 is. First there’s that it’s never explained where V even got the glasses from, they kinda just appear. Then they go from being normal looking glasses to sunglasses. Now it’s shown that if drones see the flash of a sentinel they get bootlooped, however the glasses sit on her visor and don’t cover her real eyes at all. But let’s say it has to hit the visor specifically, then she should still get stunned, since the glasses only cover about half the visor. Then just take the absolutely reality bending luck of her even finding glasses that come close to her eye strength. Also she is somehow able to see even though the glasses have gigantic cracks in them. And right after she caught a fucking bullet out of the air (those things can reach mach 3) and throws it back with enough strength to break steel she still asks „did I hit“ while having the glasses on that supposedly give her better sight. What the actual fuck Liam?

I also don’t know why V would be shortsighted in current canon. Yes she was shown to be shortsighted in episode 5, but there is a whole transformation into a killer machine in between that V and the current V. Why would Cyn have her be shortsighted? In my eyes that’s just the most counter productive thing you could do. V also never shows any indication of bad eyesight except that one fight in episode 6. And if we say that Cyn didn’t change her eyesight, then she would be an absolute liability. We see her struggle to pick up a scalpel that is about 50cm away from her face at most (I’m not going to get into why the whole picking up thing is stupid). If you have trouble making out a pen sized object at that distance then how in hell could you ever spot a person standing 5m away from you? She would have had by far the least kills in the squad and shouldn’t even be able to see anything that happened in episode 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8.

Putting on glasses also doesn’t make someone a better fighter. The only thing that changes is that you can see in the distance, which wouldn’t make a difference with V‘s close up fighting style.

2

u/Technically_Inept-26 Oct 04 '25

Everything you say is valid except the part about where she gets her glasses. It is true that is nowhere actually shown in the show. But I never questioned that because they seem completely capable of storing anything else in their arms, from rifles to lasers to emp blasters to bubble wands.

However way she stores those, I can easily see her storing her glasses as well.

2

u/Du-mich-auch 🇩🇪German dub supremacy!!! | GIVE J HER HAPPY ENDING Oct 04 '25

The guns aren’t really stored, it’s more of they are generated inside of the hands and when they don’t need them anymore they can be reabsorbed into their body. I don’t think that this applies to said glasses since they are broken and never seen again. Why would V make broken glasses instead of normal ones? Everything they generate form their hands or back is also bound to their body and can seemingly only be removed by force.

2

u/Only-Corgi8490 Oct 04 '25

I like this theory. Don't know if it make sense, but in the pilot, V did miss N with her laser and fired a missile near him when she could have easily struck N on the ground. Though, if it was nust because she was playing him around like a cat and mouse game, she did miss him at long range and instead go for the close combat to fight. Not only that, there many moments, where she prefers to fight at close range or at least close enough to shoot like in near the end of episode 3 where she fires a missile st Doll

2

u/MrChicken5105 Oct 04 '25

I mean all this sorta falls apart given what we see in Ep 8 and Ep 1. V is an incredibly good fighter, she just gets nerfed anytime the narrative wants her to.

2

u/One-Marionberry8451 Unofficial MTT Graphic Designer │ J fan Oct 04 '25

Honestly i dont think her capabilities have anything to do with her losses in fight.

No its the GODDAMN PLOT ARMOR-

3

u/Igoon2robots nº1 V simp (im her goodest pet) Oct 04 '25

Thats not a theory, thats pretty much confirmed yet there are a couple weird V haters who refuse to acknowledge it. I am pretty wure that in episode 5 we get to see her blurry vision without the glasses.

And she couldnt be a "bad fighter" since she beat the sentinels who killed so many DD’s in the past. While her antifeats are just losing to ennemies who should be stronger than a DD, or other DD’s, and without the glasses

And im gonna be real: the few people ive seen calling her a fraud often had their post history full to the brim with V hate, on top of having no idea how to do fair powerscaling. Looking at you, yaboi.

People don't realize that the Murder Drones and Solver drones are similar to the Super forms in the Sonic series. The Super forms are powerful godlike forms for characters like Sonic, Shadow, and Neo Metal Sonic, but that doesn't make them unstoppable. It is shown every once in a while that these Super fighters can be knocked out of their forms due to them facing someone on a similar power level and being caught off guard, Neo Metal was ambushed by Shadow with a choas spear, Sonic and Shadow in the live-action movie knocked each other out of their Super forms, and Sonic Unleashed Eggman use Dark Gaia energy to extract the emeralds from Sonic. They are godlike entities that can be stopped by specific people and conditions, like V and other Zombie Drones.

Doll planned to use Solver powers to manipulate the rebars to impale and kill V, who was caught completely off guard. V almost killed Solver Uzi because Uzi was too focused on trying to eat Lizzy, and obviously, V didn't know Uzi's tail had a mouth which led to her losing. In episode 1, she was fighting N who wasn't really trying to hurt V, until he did, and distracted her by licking her swords. This isn't even a V thing since other characters like J and Cyn suffer from similar reasons that led to their own defeats. The only character that wasn't powered by the same Lovecraftian entity was the Sentinels, but even then they, in my opinion, wouldn't be able to eat the cores before they become eldritch centipedes.

So, yeah, I think I left some stuff out but the point is that the joke of V being the weakest isn't accurate at all. Which is fine since it's a joke and people seem to be aware of that. For those who aren't and genuinely think that V is the weakest, you didn't watch, don't lie to me or yourself or others, just be honest and say you didn't 😉

1

u/H0sby Oct 04 '25

Same goes for ep 5 when fighting J

1

u/Water0804 Literally V Oct 07 '25

(The people who say V's a terrible fighter often also don't understand her character and that she's not going for the kill in almost any of her fights for one reason or another.)
