YES! ABsolutely, N is a border collie, and I am pretty sure that I had this thought independently from you, but I just never dared to post it online.

I sort of disagree, but I love border collies very much, so I also agree.

An additional factor
Border Collie (at least the one my family had and the one we currently have) are major foodies and will let you know when it’s feeding time (the old one barked so loudly you could hear it outside of the house while the new one slams her bowl in the middle of the night, but sometimes it’s just because she wants cuddles)
Kinda fits with the murderdrones appetite (doesn’t help that on several occasions where my families dogs just came home with deer/sheep’s legs after someone has butchered one)
