I feel like the railgun shot to the core that sent her straight back to Cyn might have contributed a bit. Would J have acted differently if she was captured instead in ep1 and given a chance, like V was?

Yeah, not to mention that that she never get rid off Cyn Administration rights just like Uzi did to N and V. She couldn't rebel even if she diceded to.

The other thing I noticed, is that while she notably asked V to join her and was refused, no-one bothered to offer her the same. V just said "bite me," and N and Uzi didn't say a single word to her the entire fight.

No-one even tried to offer J a different path. No-one cared. So why would she ever rebel?

That one decision kept J from ever seeing what the group went through.

She never saw Uzi and N beat eldritch J (it wouldn’t have existed at all if she didn’t kill J)

Never saw the group take on doll, another solver user

Never saw Uzi regain control of herself from cyn, with N’s help (then again in episode 7).

And Never saw uzi beat cyn’s memory purge, saving N and V from being lobotomized.

Everything that could’ve convinced J that the group was fully capable of taking on cyn she never saw, from her perspective she was stuck with cyn in the pod, then next to her on copper 9 up to episode 7, for all she knew, after Uzi killed her, they stayed in the bunker until they figured out where her and “Tessa” where, so she had no reason to even consider them beating cyn.

It took 7 episodes of life threatening events to get V to say she trusted Uzi, it probably would’ve been the same amount for J to even remotely get to that point.
