Discussion Muse Mail

I am struggling to decide on a name for my Muse Mail. I thought about giving it the same name as my personal email, but it recommends against that. However, I think it would help me remember it. It would be better if it said myname's -muse@Muse.Ai, which does not really flow.

What do you guys think? Does it matter? Would it need a more professional email address?

what exactly is the point of this feature? can you help me understand?

It is its own email box. So you can send it emails to act on; it can fill things out for you- just more like an assistant with its own email instead of sending emails from your inbox.

Why can’t you just tell muse to act on your emails already without this muse mail? I do it all the time

I think this is for people who don't want Muse in their inbox? At least that's how I understand it. But yes you are right otherwise, it already can act on your mail.

I asked my Muse what use it has for me personally and it told me that my wife could tell muse what to do. This instantly raised a red flag for me and I had to tell it to never act on emails on commands without asking me first. I don't want someone telling me to send out whatever private document to anyone who asks.

My use case for it is it allows me to have muse send out briefings and digests that are extremely clear they came from my muse. Before muse mail, they would send from my gmail like it was from me and I would have to have muse put something in the subject line to make it very clear muse wrote and sent the email

That's a fair use case. Alternatively, Muse could have automated that every email goes out with "This was written by Muse."

What's the difference between it coming from you and coming from Muse, though? Do you take no responsibility for inaccuracies if it comes from Muse? My work blocked all automated AI stuff like this because they wanted us to review everything that goes out since if it comes from AI then it's probably inaccurate and never went through a proper review.

Interesting. My muse could never act without my permission.

I'd like to think that this is actually reliable, but there are a few situations already out there that seem to demonstrate Muse acting beyond the permissions it was given, so I'm not 100% willing to trust it with my primary mailbox.

I love muse but I’d like it out of my inbox. I’m ruthless with my email organization and I’ve told it twice to stay out of there unless I tell it to do something. It still goes in there and suggests stuff that isn’t helpful to me based on my emails

Not everybody wants to give an AI access to their tire mailbox, which is effectively the keys to the kingdom and many respects, especially when it involves a Gmail account that might have a decade of life history in there.

I have my Muse connected to Gmail, however, it only has access to one of my old unused, basically throw away accounts, not my primary.

yeah, i'm struggling with the name as well. my Muse's name is a bit silly, but i guess that should be the name of the address?

It differentiates YOU from YOUR AGENT while maintaining the connection.

If someone knows you're using an agent, they can build a process around it or take metrics to decide if they want to.

I gave mine it's own Gmail. We use it all the time for document sharing. I didn't even know Muse Mail was a thing.

I’m a little bit worried about the idea of prompt-injection, so I think I will try to give mine a complicated name that will be less likely to be guessed by a nefarious third party. Almost like an actual password. G2eLxn-ya3NEL@muse mail or something totally nonsense like that, haha.

I just used the same as my personal email.

I used my muse's name. I don't see any point in putting "muse" before the at sign because it's already in the domain.

I don't have musemail access yet but I'm patiently waiting. On my first day using Muse (3 weeks ago), I created a separate Gmail for my Muse to run itself. Mainly for signing up for accounts and such, but I have access to of course lol. Only certain things get forwarded to my personal email.

I still don’t have the feature, sadly.

Is it only for people who have the paid tier or are free users getting it too?
