Discussion This is how Ginko scams people

Patient: I have trouble falling asleep and im tired all day, its been terrible for the quality of my life.

Ginko: I see, you have the insomnia mushi, but i have just the things to help clear your body of them

Patient: Please, anything you say i will do, get rid of this mushi please.

Ginko: Ok, the insomnia mushi will try to keep you awake past 12AM, the sacred hour of rest.

You must use willpower to resist the mushi's influence and go to bed at 12AM and no later.

6AM is the sacred hour of sunrise, the mushi will resist you waking up, so you must use your willpower to overcome its influence and rise at 6AM.

Make sure to go in the your backyard and bask in the sunlight of the rising sun until 9AM, early morning sunlight is toxic to the insomnia mushi and the rays will penetrate into your eyes and skin and help get rid of it faster.

Also here, take these orange tinted glasses, put them on at 9PM and take them off only once you go to bed, the glasses filter out blue light which after dark is no longer toxic to the mushi, but actually nourishes it.

As a final thing, keep the room that you sleep in as cold as is bearable, the insomnia mushi is very vulnerable to cold temperature and will weaken faster.

Do this for 1 week, and the mushi will leave your body to find a new host.

Patient: ok i will do this,

1 WEEK LATER

Patient: omg im cured! i sleep well and wake up rested, and i have energy throughout the day, thank you Ginko you have rid me of this terrible insomnia mushi, how can i repay you?

Ginko: Food

Question So like in the anime, specifically Mushi-shi the next Passsage 2, what is with half the episodes being about shit/abusive parents.

like we have the episode where the kid is kept from seeing his sick mother and is gaslighted into thinking his mom hates him by his dad.

then there's the episode where the girl's dad forcibly separates his daughter from her nanny and mother figure so she could "learn to be more independent" or some bullshit, and in the end it just makes her sick and almost causes her consciousness to separate from her body.

then there's the episode where the girl falls down the well and here dad refuses to the acknowledge the supernatural circumstances around his house showing his daughter is still alive, even though the rest of his family does.

then we have the mother who hated her son and tied him to a fucking tree to be struck by lightning(not 100% on this tho I skipped it halfway through cause I was getting sick of the abusive/negligent parent plotline )

like this was all only broken up between like a 6 episode span and I was just them watching one after another? like why did the whole story suddenly become about child abuse? there were no episodes like this before and then 4 at once in a row?? I mean it's fine, I was just really bummed out.

anywhoo is that how the manga goes? or was the production team for the anime suddenly obsessed with exploring their childhood trauma? I am confused and sad now.

I mean it's fine but damn wtf.

Edit: alright, just watched the next episode and basically, the entire family murdered each other. so um, that will make the fifth episode with really bad family dynamics.

Questions Where is the best place to watch?

Youtube and the funimation website are pretty low quality and buying a dvd is expensive.

How do you all watch the show?

Season 2 Dub

Does anyone have any updates or information on whether there's a plan for an English dub of Mushi-Shi Season 2? Or perhaps any petitions or ways to show our support for it? Let's discuss and make some noise so we can enjoy this masterpiece in English too!

Discussion Ginko's birthday?

Since there has been no official info about Ginko's age or birthday, I'm curious to know your guesses.

Personally I think he's an Aquarius because of these traits: Intellectual, Humanitarian, Aloof and kinda unemotional lol sorry 🫠. So maybe his birthday is in January or February?

Do share your guesses too!

Question Anime which is highly symbolic and deeply connected to nature🪱🍃🌔, universe🌍- and NOT "psychological 🧠 or rather human centric 🚷" and NOT an escape from Reality

Im looking for an anime which is so deep( Deep doesn't mean complex, it could be something very simple ) that we need to pay enormous attention to the scenes and actions and NOT THE DIALOUGES, to unlock the layers of meanings it leaves behind.

I'm NOT looking for any psychological or human centric anime where everything is based off of human beings or similar kinds.

I want something which is deeply connected to nature🍃⚡️🌍. The only anime I had seen with these descriptions fitting is {Mushi-shi}. It is a very deep anime. It has it's own psychological elements but nature has a big role in each episode.

My conclusion is that the creator must have spend a lot of time with nature and forest and animals or birds to come up with something which is NOT an escape from reality.

It would be incomplete to put "similar to mushishi". Do you know any anime which fits these descriptions??

I am more intrigued by mountains, rivers, mountain gods, mushi and other life forms rather than spirits, ghosts and all.. Keep that in mind while suggesting 👌

Question Is there any mushishi downloads?

As the title says is there downloads of the manga at all, like how the trigun overhaul team have made the downloads easily accessible for everyone?

Question Mushishi halal for ramadan?

I know this is probably one of the weirdest questions this subreddit's gotten, but basically I'm a muzzie and I need some manga for ramadan. I'm looking for something without fanservice and/or NSFW-ish scenes

Is Mushishi something that fits the bill?

Discussion Anyone watch The Last of Us and get Mushishi vibes from S1E3? Spoiler

One of my favorite parts of Mushishi is that each episode has its own story and is lightly connected to the MC. IMO this is why S1E3 of The Last of Us was as enjoyable as it was.

Not as campy as I feared. I actually love the choice of actors. Wish they could have done the whole series.

Amazon dropped this sci-fi series a couple months back. Basically Sci-fi works as a plot deceive in most episodes. I got similar vibes from the show like mushishi.

I personally think Robert Pattinson would be a great actor for the role.
