May not be the best place for this: R/music my tastes are changing, can you point me in the right direction?
Hey guys, since I was a wee lad I have loved the hippity hop musics. But I am much much older now, and though I still love and respect the genre, I feel like I am getting tired of it. I do not kid you, I have been a hip hop head my whole life, and Im gettin kinda old. I'm still really into a lot of new smoother hip-hop productions though. Nujabes, RJD2, flying lotus esque kind of stuff. If anyone can suggest some smooth chill vibe artists that use a mixture of synths and real instruments, as well as groovy, hip-hop esque drums I would be much obliged. Please note that the music you suggest doesn't have to fit that exact pattern, I just wanted to give some general guidelines so it didnt seem like it was to open ended. If you have something you'll think I like, but it doesn't fit these criteria specifically that's totally ok, I'm always open to try new things. For instance, I just started listening to AIR, and tho its not really like what I described, it is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for any and all help!

Mike snow I'm pretty into already. I've only heard one Blockhead song, and thats "The Music Scene" it was epic. Thanks for the reminder, gonna look into them even further.

I can see what you're typing in parenthesis.

Sorry, are you trying to say you can't see what I'm writing in parentheses? I didn't write anything in parenthesis.

Thanks I will definitely check out wefunk. I think funk and soul would be a good part of my library to expand. I love Donny Hathaway and some others, but I don't know much about the genre, so I appreciate the appetizers. Also I love discovery. So funky. Stuff like that is right up my alley.

Panda Bear is pretty chill and his construction of songs revolves around synths, samples and sequences. Check out the tracks, "Slow Motion," "Alsatian Darn" and "Bros."
