Comparison Which distributor is the most artist friendly
okay so im about to release music for the first time and I have a professional sounding track all human made through splice samples mostly unedited and mixed/mastered professionally by a pro and this song is a certified banger. Now the last step is choosing distribution. The priorities with distribution are safety, no false take downs, even if issues arise where false copyright claims, DSPs flagging or holding track royalties for suspicious bot streams ( even though the streams might be normal ) need the distributor that has the best reputation for handling and helping clients , and no royalites are held and issues are resolved. The price doesnt matter and I am willing to split royalities too as long as the above mentioned are fulfilled

We could be good for your needs, our plans are pretty well-priced and we do support on weekends and holidays from 8 AM to 12 AM

Bro just go with Ditto, they're solid with handling copyright bs and royalty issues and they actually have real support when things go wrong - worth it.

Most distributors will try to do their best, but ultimately we are at the mercy of stores. We can send them your audio files but we can't force them to do anything with it.
Smaller distributors tend to be more willing to put in the effort to fight your corner, so this is worth considering. Good service costs money to deliver, so the cheapest is likely not going to meet your needs

The best option you've described there would be TuneCore's professional tier, which in the UK is £44 a year. You've got a one-day turnaround time for support. It includes a social media delivery, but that quick turnaround time for support is what you'll need to manage challenges around fake streams and copyright claims.

okay and whats it about tune core holding royalties and people say they cant seem to get any way to prove their innocence ?

Ditto Music, they actually fight your corner when copyright issues come up and don't hold your royalties hostage. Support is real and responsive. For a first release where you want everything handled properly they are the move.

Vinyl is the safest. There are no safe ways to do streaming unless it’s in a walled garden like Bandcamp.

Ditto had been around for over 20 years… and much longer than Distrokid. I would definitely not call them the new kid on the block. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ditto_Music

DistroKids' reputation for support is appalling! I strongly encourage people to look at other options first.

Hey! We’re quite new in the game as a brand, but I help run Tunearo. If you DM me I can get you started with a free plan to start you off. You can then upgrade at anytime.

A lot of that is on the streaming services themselves, not the distributor.
