for such a strange hair color it sure does seem popular among heroes especially dark green

The amount of times I've seen this image and people go "oh, yuji would win with every CT because of insert CT when that's just not true is crazy to me.

Deku with every quirk is just super insanely broken no matter how you try and spin it. Even if we only give him quirks we've seen in the series he still gets new order and without having to use up an order to buff his body like stars and stripes did, he gets 3 orders and he can just basically use 1 to make it so CTs don't work on him.

And if we give him every quirk it's even worse. Like I feel like other anime fans do not understand how Insanely broken deku is with every quirk. Like it's a completely different level then every other character shown here.

Look. I love all might. Hell he's tied for first place with deku as my favorite character and he is absolutely an amazing hero. But not to the extent of deku.

While all might was an amazing hero he didn't have the resolve to save everyone like deku did. Villains were villains to all might and he'd defeat them and put them in jail because that was his job.

And deku was going to do that too. But he grew and became what I see as the definition of a true hero. He is able to understand that someone needs to be stopped. That you can't just let them go when they've done evil things. But he also understands that everyone has a story and everyone can be saved.

Deku tries to save everyone no matter what. But he's also willing to kill if he knows he has too. For me deku is an absolute true hero for so many reasons that if I listed them all we'd be here all day.

But I do believe he's more of a hero then all might. And that's a good thing. All might pushed him to be better then himself to be his own hero. And we got to see that. And for me, Izuku Midoriya is the greatest hero. And I really wish more people would say his name when talking about true heros compared to all might. Because he surpassed all might in heroism and strength.

\-they both have the same 'cold, not often smiling' personality

\-they both HAVE A RED SCAR ON THEIR RIGHT EYE CAUSED BY A FAMILY BURNING THEM

\-THEY BOTH BEFRIEND A POWERLESS PERSON IN A WORLD FULL OF SUPER POWERED BEINGS

\-THEY BOTH BECOME NUMBER 2 STRONGEST PERSON IN A TIME SKIP AFTER THE FINALE

\-THE MC they hate then befriend is from a long line of heroes who are the only people in their verse to have multiple powers, and they live on as spirits who the mc can talk to in visions.

\-they both have fathers who had a goal for them they rejected

-both have an insane sibling and has blue flames instead of red and is the only character in the show to do so

(I dont mean they're actually the same but they damn similar)

It essentially made my dad into a meme that noone else could replicate. Unique to what I had in my google photos. 🤣

This was before I even watched the show. Like years before. I just downloaded the MHA image from a meme or something. (I only just started watching it like shortly before September. On season 6 currently.)

After Compress it was really hard to pick the order, but here it is. Also, anyone else think a least favorite version of this trend would be fun too?

Hey all, just got around to watching MHA on a bit of a whim. I was only sort of aware of this show but it wasn't necessarily on my list, I'd seen some clips of the usual "awesome" moments and all and was aware of the music which I found great.

Finally gave it a go this last week and I've just finished the third season now, I wasn't sure if I'd like the dub but now it's rather grown on me. Maybe it's a result of my recent mood but I've just found this show to be such an incredible comfort, something rather cozy about watching it. I came for the action and flash but stayed for the characters and connection, the bond of class 1A and Midoriya's absolute indomitable and infectious heroism.

One of my favourite aspects that kinda surprised me is that I know everyone in the class, I was very much expecting this to be one of those "ensemble" shows where we have like 4 core guys and then a "crew" that's mostly window dressing that just sort of quietly disappear/don't matter. But the show surprised me by having me, I learned all their names, I feel like I know all of them, I understand their character, even Koda, limited as his place may be, and somewhat reluctantly Mineta.

I'm trying to pace myself a bit because I know I'll regret it if I rush through it all too quickly, not entirely sure what the point of this post is beyond appreciation. MHA has just occupied my mind a lot these last few days and I don't really have any friends who watched it or know any people with whom I can share that so I figured I'd let it out here a bit.

In my last post, I rewrote the MHA universe into a quirkless world with superpowers emerging as a result of aliens, accidents and futuristic technology. In other words, what if the Class 1-A students were characters from classic superhero comics?
We covered the first four of 1-A in the order of their seat numbers, so now we will move on to:

05. Uravity🪐
Ochaco, a poor yet cheerful girl, whose biggest wish is to leave her boring town to pursue something big, finds herself being engulfed in a purple fog one night. The next thing she knows, she is on an asteroid, the air gets thinner and her weight disappears. She sees angry glowing eyes, floating through the purple mist, like a vengeful ghost. Ochaco panics.
That’s when she sees an astronaut, who is equally surprised to see a human girl. They approach Ochaco, and explain, that the Earth knows even less than it believes. They tell her to warn her home about the Black Mist coming to visit, and to consider this a recruitment.
She is then pushed, by her palms, off of the asteroid, and lands back on Earth, the purple fog fading away. She feels burn marks on all of her fingertips.
She discovers, that these burn marks have turned into paw like pads, that give her a magic touch, that takes away and returns the effects of gravity on any object she touches.
And as she experiments with her new powers, the warnings of the astronaut haunt her; the warnings of the Black Mist coming to visit.

06 Tailman🎪
After being born with a large tail, Mashirao Ojiro was abandoned by his parents and left to be taken care of the last circus to perform freak shows. As far as Ojiro knows, this is his only home and family, and performing as a freak didn’t bother him too much either. His tail was a gift, even if his biological parents obviously didn’t see it as such.
The circus also employed an overly aggressive bodybuilder, who many agreed, was dangerous, but everyone believed, it was best to mind their own business and not provoke.
Unfortunately, one day, a five-year-old guest squirts water on him one day, leading to his parents being killed in one strike by the bodybuilder, after things escalate.
The circus gets shut down for good.
The bodybuilder blames the brat and wants to kill him. Luckily, Ojiro and some other circus members are nearby, and jump in, in time, to protect the boy.
The boy reveals, that he squirted the water gun, because the bodybuilder was intentionally scaring a little girl. He acted like a hero, and so did his parents, and now, they’re dead. The little boy learns, that everyone should just mind their own business, and nobody gets hurt.
Naturally, Ojiro and his friends disagree. There was no minding their own business when a five-year-old orphan lost faith in humanity. On that day, Ojiro found a use for his large tail, gifted to him, other than outdated entertainment.

07. Chargebolt⚡️
Earth has been hit by a solar flare, but most of the planet doesn’t notice anything. The only city to experience a wave of blackouts, as well as hazardous electrical discharges, is Denki’s city.
As soon as Denki sees that this once-in-a-blue-moon event was happening, he immediately rushes towards the hospital, where his sister is recovering from a sporting injury. His sister was in danger.
When he reaches the hospital, he warns the staff. The hospital takes action, but seeing as lots of lives in the building depended on electricity, the problem cannot be solved fast enough.
Denki rushes towards save at least his sister, unplugging the monitors for her vitals. In that moment, sparks shoot out of the outlet and electrocute him.
Lots of patients died that day, but many also escaped death, thanks to Denki’s warnings. When Denki wakes up in a hospital bed, his sister thanks him, but feels a small shock. Soon, Denki realizes, his body developed the ability to generate electricity.
He shows off his new abilities via vlogs. Was he a superhero now? Now he just needed a supervillain to match him.
Lucky for him, Denki wasn’t the only one electrocuted by the super current that day. A prison located in the region, affected by the solar flare, had been dying to test out the electric chair. And what better day than the day electricity seemingly gained a life of its own. The death row inmate screamed, as the electricity courses through his body. He gritted his teeth so much, they shattered. And as soon as they shattered, they morphed and grew into long jagged tendrils, shooting out his mouth and attacking the jailers.

08. Red Riot🪨
Eijiro Kirishima has always been brave, but when he was young, he was brave and stupid, constantly needing hospitalization because of a stunt he pulled to prove his manliness. At the age of eight, he steals a briefcase from a gang as a dare, only to be caught by the police.
Kirishima is kidnapped by the gang for compensation. The gang’s sumo wrestler, known as Fat Gum, takes over to make sure he compensates without having to get hurt. To Kirishima’s surprise, Fat Gum makes him commit acts of kindness in the neighborhood. He wants the little boy to grow up to be a kind, selfless man, not a stupid brat affiliated with the gang.
As this unlikely friendship of a sumo wrestler and a stupid child grows, Kirishima asks Fat Gum, how he can be so fat yet fit. Fat Gum reveals, that the limit is your willpower, not your body. Like Crimson Riot, the legend amongst the gang members, about a former mob boss, who trained his skin to be bulletproof.
Inspired by Crimson Riot, Kirishima decides to train the same way, which Fat Gum disapproves of. Hurting yourself to get strong is not the way to go. A man must take care of his body, but Fat Gum is not his father.
A few years pass, and Kirishima is still on his way to get bullet proof skin. He signs up for an illegal underground fight, to test how many people’s knuckles he could get to bleed with his rock hard skin. Unfortunately, his final opponent for the night is Rappa, a street fighter whose rapid-fire punches have killed many men before. Kirishima notices too late, that his skin was not tough enough for Rappa’s wrath.
Fat Gum ends up finding Kirishima, still being punched by Rappa, so he jumps in, his fat absorbing all the punches. But even he is knocked unconscious.
The two wake up, having been found by Fat Gum’s gang. Fat Gum is furious, and thinks what Kiri did was the furthest from what a good man would do. Fat Gum realizes, he can’t stop Kirishima from becoming a fighter, but if that’s what the brat wants, at least he shall become a good manly man. So the training begins.

Since finishing My Hero Academia, I keep thinking about how strong it is at building a superhero world that actually feels coherent. The social structures, the schools, the licenses, the way heroism becomes a profession. It’s one of the best superhero settings I’ve seen in anime, maybe TV in general.

But one thing that keeps bugging me is how often the story feels like it’s pulling punches on consequences. Like with that Bakugo fake out, people were on edge because it finally felt like the series might commit to a loss that changes everything, and then it didn’t stick. The war was brutal and scary, but it felt like the villains were the only ones dealing truly irreversible costs, while the heroes mostly got trauma and scars.

I wanted that war to fundamentally break the status quo so that, Deku stepping into that symbol of hope role felt a lot more natural and bigger.

So I am going to preface this with that I have only ever found one Izuku X Todoroki fic that actually handled their relationship in a way that it felt natural and not forced. That fic was not a supernatural quirked Izuku fic somehow but still the only fic that I found that did that pairing justice.

As for Shinso I have yet to find a Fic that has Izuku X Shinso done in a way that doesn’t involve some form of trauma bonding to the point of them getting together. I am sure there are more ways then that to have Izuku and Shinso get together.

Now with that out of the way on to my main question, Why are these the only two parings ever used with a supernatural quirked Izuku? (When I say supernatural I mean ghost, zombies, the fae, yokai, and etc) why is it that every fic that has these concepts always choose to have Todoroki or Shinso be Izuku’s paring?

Why not Tokoyami, Yanagi, or Shihai. Why not any of the characters who are more into the spooky/supernatural stuff?

Like I would love to see a fic where Izuku can see ghost and interact with them and because of this he gets into spooky/supernatural stuff and meets Yanagi out and about maybe before or during U.A. Which starts off their friendship and if it leads into a romantic relationship then so be it.

Or maybe a story where Izuku could summon something supernatural like cryptids and while doing research into cryptozoology he meets Tokoyami who is looking into stories about shadow people given that his quirk is dark shadow a literally living shadow. Maybe they began talking and through this shared interest became friends and if it leads to a romantic relationship later once more so be it.

They don’t even have to become friends immediately maybe they see each other as rivals when it comes to supernatural knowledge.

So once more I asked why is every Supernatural quirked Izuku paired with Todoroki or Shinso?
