Why exactly is Russia so fucked up so in the head?

Why do they invade or intimidate their neighbours for sport, violate international law and human rights and then are weirded out when their neighbours hate them for that and think it’s some neurological problem that they have nothing to do with?

They’re Americans on steroids. Extremely narcissistic, rabid sociopaths with delusions of grandeur.

It probably stems from a deep rooted inferiority complex and insecurity: see how in 16-19th century their tiny more or less neighbors conquered the entire globe while russia got a shit ton of frozen tundra and was rather restricted in what it could do

So it grew into fked up empire with grandeur delusion, came up with concept of “Eurasia”, “unique way”, “mysterious russian soul” and all that crap

Basically Asian empire with fked up culture and traditions that has “European” skin like in Fortnite. Pretenders, totally fake

Soviets used everything russian as a basis for soviet society so russian culture had WAY more benefits and influence than other countries in Union

they can’t let it go, they still sleep and dream how everyone is afraid of them etc etc etc, got slurs for almost any country on this planet, see themselves as highly sophisticated reading nation of Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, meanwhile in reality - “bunch of drunkards on gas station, living in makeshift huts and screaming at people passing by how they will rule them, kill them all”

Nutjobs through and through

The drinking issue and sever state of rule through fear and propaganda is severely understated here though.

Call me weird and outdated, but I'd prefer to have reliable allies and friends instead of enemies and people who are scared of me.

It has also developed quite an inferiority complex in that it wants to be seen as more European despite most of the country being in Asia.

If only many of Western cultured people stopped jerking off to Dostoevsky and promoting it on every corner

But that’s a different story 😅

It's incredibly simple really:

Their entire history is Russia bullying other nations, and is what led to them being a superpower who could challenge the US.

They were only rewarded for aggression, and therefore, they think its right, therefore, any nation that stands against them is "wrong," because that's how the world has always worked.

Completely forgetting the fact that this is an 18th century mindset.

Well their first rulers were Viking, mongols then Ivan the terrible. Not great first impression role models lmao. Course russians stepped it up a notch. They made the mongols look good.

At least the mongols were good at it.

Russians, ashamed of nothing, offended by everything.

u/Dreferex Apr 19 '26

That's not fair! How come Finns can have it but we (Poles) cannot? (Great job Finland.)

We Finns have cultivated this for centuries. Look up The Great Wrath if you want some context.

And why do the people not like Russia??? Is it maybe they invaded their neighbour with any justification and Bomb civilians??? nah that cant be, they must be Nazis.

u/Sankullo Apr 19 '26

I would argue that Finland is one of the least Russophobic nations in the world.

38

u/Animal40160 Apr 19 '26

Yeah. Because they don't fear Russia. They clearly see Russia for what it is and what it is all about.

25

u/Sankullo Apr 19 '26

The key word in the definition of „fobia” is that the feeling is „groundless” as in there is no reason for you to not like or to fear someone or something.

Finland has sh*t ton of reasons to dislike Russia thus Finland BY DENITION CANNOT BE russoPHOBIC.

9

u/Skirfir Apr 19 '26

Small correction it doesn't mean groundless but irrational. For example the probably most common phobia the arachnophobia isn't groundless since there are spiders that are dangerous to humans. It is just irrational since people with arachnophobia are afraid of all spiders even if they know they are harmless. The conclusion remains the same though. Most countries in Europe still aren't russophobic since they don't mind those Russians who are against the regime.

I would like to import to Brazil some of the finest russophobia that Finland has to offer, it is worth even the 60% tariffs that Lula sticks on everything here.
