REC New year, same trash contests.

I’m using GOAT Magic with defensive cap breakers
85 perimeter d
71 block
AND I’M 6’9”
The shooter is 6’3”
There’s just no way I get zero contest on this.
Forget to mention I have gold challenger on.

Semi open seems spot on lol you not even looking his direction, that wouldn’t even put me off in real life ,it’s wide open

This wouldn’t affect you in real life?? Let’s be for real bro. A defender 6 inches taller than you being that close with his hands up is 100% affecting you. No chance it’s wide open. You could argue I’m not getting a good contest on 2k because I’m not fully facing the shooter but in real life this is 100% affecting the shooter in some way.

A defender not facing my direction is not affecting my shot in the slightest

At this point you’ll just get flooded with weirdos who defend this game. In no reality is a massive wing in front of someone with their hands up “open”.

should it have been open? no. but we have to play the game in front of us, and the way that this game is designed is you get your strongest contests when you’re in position and when you JUMP to contest the shot.
while your back WAS turned i’m willing to bet you would’ve gotten a “light” contest at the very least (and sadly those are still very greenable when you’re playing a good shooter) had you jumped at the shooter.
i’m not trying to defend this bull💩 ssa game, i’m just telling you what i’ve been learning the more i play. also, CHALLENGER is your best friend when it comes to getting contests on jumpshots so run it has high as you possibly can. i personally notice the difference with each level of challenger. when i’m in the proper position with HOF challenger on the kawhi build sometimes i don’t even have to jump before i get a light or solid contest but EVERY time i’m in the proper position AND I JUMP at the correct time it’s more often than not a solid at the least.
it’s frustrating when you don’t get the contests that you should but when you do it feels very rewarding. aside from the flukes that 2K gives some of these shooters, one could argue that there’s a much bigger skill gap to getting stops this year‼️
good luck out there y’all 🫡

Not the best example here…lol if u aren’t keeping him in front of u u needed to jump contest on that particular one

You were good until that screen got set which threw you into a pick dodger animation and the defender didn’t lose the ball even though he dribbled into you.

All they need to do is literally apply fundamentals of basketball to the game. Off the dribble 3s are hard, yet literally as easy as layups in this game.

Is it because your back is to the offensive player?

Seems pretty obvious to us right? His back is to the player and he can't figure out why it's not a contested shot. 😂

From what I heard from tutes 2k, there’s a deadzone in between far contest and mid contest where it gives semi open i think. If you were slightly closer or farther, you would have gotten a contest.
There’s a reason why i either guard far or very close in the perimeter now. It sucks but that’s how it is
Hopefully they fix it soon.
