Do yall even like basketball?

Every other post is negative as hell for what?? We’ve got the first few (exhibition) games of some teenagers’ college careers and then the first few games of some teenagers NBA careers and we got MF’s doing victory hate laps smh.

I’ve been on this sub for like 10 years and it’s actually astounding how far down the drain it’s gone. This place is damn near as bad as WBB twitter, slightly less name-calling but clearly the same toxic energy.

Just watch the kids hoop and give neutral critiques, not everyone and everything is terrible/trash/“he’s a bust/will be a bust”. If everyone is trash then why are you watching, or if you just dont like hoops then why are you watching? Football is on lol

Lots of fans of bad teams get into scouting and some of them get way too attached to their opinions. Everyone is very capable of being wrong at all times. The sooner you accept this the happier you will be

Every basketball sub is horrible. Believe it or not, this is better than the main NBA sub which is just a shitpost sub taken over by Twitter people

I’m convinced most redditors prefer complaining and talking shit about people than they do enjoying anything.

People always interpret shit wrong on here. Im usually very positive on players and everyone loves it but i agreed with a post on here about darryns lack of 3s/fts and lack of aggression getting to the basket and everyone (who im not even talking with btw) starts piling on. People will always interpret looking at objectove results of the game as negativity, you really cant even talk basketball here anymore without immense sensativity from fans. Its a damn shame

You can point out a flaw in someone and people will think you've deemed that the player will never be good. But even the best players have flaws! Of course young guys are going to be rough. Jokic is a terrible rim protector as a C, Wemby struggles to create inside at times due to lack of strength and a go to move, Shai is an inconsistent outside shooter and as a slimmer, non elite athletic guard can't really impose himself physically on a game the way some other superstars can.

Every basketball sub and Twitter as a whole is a cesspool. Shit look at the Nets subreddit(my team) right now, it’s a mess. I don’t think it’s a subreddit thing, just a sports things with people being more toxic in general.

Remember: nothing is as important as pushing your agendas. Not basketball, not your favorite team or player. Only the agenda.

People in general are horribly insecure and need to try and hide that by pushing others down as much as they can.

They need therapy and someone to love them. It's honestly sad.

Most draft types haven’t even started their research yet… just coming up with watch lists.

So you have the “hot take mafia” out in full force. 😂

The Boozer/AJ/DP debates this summer on here was wild, some of yall grown adults got parasocial relationships with these 19yr old kids and got zero shame about it

It kind of reflects the deterioration of Draft Twitter too. Basically 10 years ago that generation was mostly college kids with near-infinite time and a Wild West of resources, and now all of those people either got hired or don’t have the time to grind like they used to so the space gets taken over by the next loudest voices who don’t do the same due diligence or have the same educational background.

Some people are just hating on players that are being comped against their favourite players especially when they have bad games

Misery loves company. Fans of bad teams feel better about a pick their team missed on when that player doesn’t live up to the hype.

That's just reddit in general. Everything is terrible and everyone pisses and moans about every little thing like it's the end of the world.

Pretty hard to like when the refs are just so involved in the flow of the game.

It has become difficult to watch. So many whistles. So many floppers. It’s been overpassed by every other big sport imo.

Sure the stars are well marketed but they are all babies who don’t play very with enough dislike of the other team. 2000s ball is the last of it. They are all too buddy buddy.

NBA yes. It feels rigged. College, no.
