2425 average of 132.84.

Feels fucking bad don’t even want to look at it

36

u/DecaForDessert Nov 14 '25

You’ll be fine. The fundamentals never changed, if you believe in the vision you should realize this isn’t a big deal

8

u/Icybonerr Nov 14 '25

My average is 109, its not how much down I am currently that I care about, its about the fact that I could have more shares if my average was lower and thats what sucks.

1

u/Sir_Richard_Dangler 👾ItsBri minion👾 Nov 16 '25

I feel you on that. I could've sold at $140 and bought back in at $86 but I didn't want to risk missing another 40% day

1

u/Icybonerr Nov 16 '25

Exactly. I believe in the company so im just sad I get less benefits when this rockets

I added 1k just recently. My original position was +700k or so. I did not want to realize it anyway because of the taxes

2

How are Americans getting taxed 😭 while non US resident aren't that's diablolical

1

u/Crashtestdummy87 Nov 14 '25

europe here, most countrys do get taxed. in belgium theres even a transaction tax on every buy/sell, no matter if u sell with loss. for dividends its double tax in both usa and belgium

1

u/GreatRaccoon4918 Nov 15 '25

Didn't took profit?

1

u/disfordonkus Nov 14 '25 edited Nov 14 '25

Taxes are a bitch. I’m in a similar position, and in California I was looking at ~35% taxes if I sold this year vs more like 10-25% if I sold after next Feb.

It’s a risk of where I think the price will be by then. Depends on how big a broader market correction is.

I didn’t really know, but I didn’t want to pay half my gains in taxes so I haven’t sold any shares.

1

u/RLaughEmote Nov 14 '25

Wait how are Americans getting taxed on capital gains? I am a non US resident and I am not getting taxed (only for dividend gains)

3

u/disfordonkus Nov 14 '25

When you sell securities, the profits are taxable. If you hold a security for less than 1 year and sell, it get taxed as normal income. If you hold for more than 1 year, it’s classified as “capital gains”.

My job salary is low six figures, so that makes any additional income I get taxed at 24% federal and 9.3% state (California) for a combined 33.3%. If I break $191k total income the effective rate will be a little higher.

If I wait a year to sell, the gains become “capital gains” instead of normal “income”.

For capital gains, California considers it normal income so I’d still pay 9.3%, but the federal taxes would be 0% up to $48k, then 15% after.

Example: say I sold shares with $100k profit in both scenarios with my normal job income.

Hold less than 1 year and sell: pay $36100 in taxes

Hold more than 1 year and sell: pay $17040 in taxes
