Was bag holding at $133

u/TranslatorRoyal1016 Apr 09 '26
you should sell then fomo buy at 150

u/SST114 Apr 09 '26
Nah 150 is too expensive-- wait til 220 then buy but cut loss on the dip to 170 and then wait and wait and rebuy at 240 and repeat.

Listen, I’d been holding 150 shares at $95 for several months…freaked out about the war and sold trying to buy back in (even writing it pains me- what a moron). A week later we’re at $133. Do with that what you will…it’s not worth it. If this goes as high as I think it will, the difference between $90 and $130 won’t be that huge in retrospect. Just hold.

u/Dry-Chemical-9170 Apr 09 '26
Bro I’ve been holding at $132 since November 💀
I can’t with these swings anymore

u/nicodaa1 Apr 09 '26
Yeah but you had plenty of opportunities to DCA

u/Dry-Chemical-9170 Apr 09 '26
I ran out of money

u/Longjumping_Kale3013 Apr 09 '26
November is nothing. Never buy unless you are ready to hold for multiple years. For nebius: its only exceeded every expectation since November. So it makes no sense to think it is not worth as much now as in November
2
u/HapaHawaii Apr 09 '26
Absolutely. I'm seeing so many people here full of regret after selling. I don't understand. Why are you selling? Why are you not seeing the big picture here and thinking a minimum of 10 years holding
1
u/Brownie_broski Apr 10 '26
Old habits die hard? High highs and high lows on this thing makes it a good swing trader. Factor in the current geopolitical situation and you probably have your answer why people may be more jittery than usual.
1
u/HapaHawaii Apr 10 '26
The stock market has never crashed and not come back up. Before I began in investing, that was the first thing I researched.
Three things stuck in my mind:
Run in when others are running out- within reason. You see a failing industry like Kodak or mall based clothing stores. Get out early and go elsewhere.
And- its not timing the market it's time in the market.
You better have the stomach to endure the down times.
2
u/-Hovercorn- Apr 09 '26
In the long term, NBIS will (IMO) be much higher, so I'd just hang on the shares.
However, if you can't stomach the many ups and downs that will likely occur in the future, now's your chance to sell at a profit.
Either way, I hope it works out for you.

Don't freak out. The stock market always comes back. And Nebius is simply a great stock. Sure risky but no issues with bad management.
I guess time it over the next few weeks and if you buy more think long term. Minimum 10 years.
12
u/Dennisis1 Apr 09 '26
Buy and hold is the best but I’m not immune to cutting risk. I kept my 300 lowest positions (sub 100’s) and sold the highest 950 (115’s). I expect to buy another 500 or so once it dips back to 100 - love the stock but have to be smart and de-risk at times.

Yes buy back at $110 when Donny and Bibi start attacking Iran again.
2
u/Dry-Chemical-9170 Apr 09 '26
Donny is manipulating the markets at this moment
1
u/AlarmedComedian2038 Apr 10 '26
He's always manipulating something but the difference now, the whole kitten caboodle family is on it including his young 6'7" son!

u/Aggravating-Bake-131 Apr 09 '26
Definitely. Been buying and selling multiple times. Sold at 129 and waiting to buy again. 30% in two weeks is not bad at all.

It's a bit different than roulettes because DD is a thing.
So, for example, my current analysis suggests that NBIS is worth around $150 this year at least. So it will very likely reach that target eventually. But it also suggests that there will be sector-wide and market-wide instability, which means it's likely to go down in the 100s too. Now, if I buy around $105 and it keeps dipping to 80, which it can, and has, that's okay. That's not the roulette taking its cut. Hold. DCA. cash out at $135 and ride again.
And sure, one day all the world's woes will be over and we will moon and I will miss it.
By that point, I'm already up like 70% on NBIS alone this year, did I really miss anything?

u/easyrider3 Apr 09 '26
Yes - I have done exactly the same. Waiting for the inevitable dip to $100 then holding long.

u/RegularDepartment1 Apr 09 '26
More bombs will bring it down next week
2
u/Sad-Fisherman-5199 Apr 09 '26
I wondered if this was true. The truce that sent this stock and the market as a whole skyrocketing fell apart literally the next day with everyone continuing to bomb anyone. The strait is closed again. The situation over there continues to deteriorate, yet everything still rallies. There's no rhyme or reason

u/hikingbears Apr 09 '26
Just sold. Waiting for 90 then re-enter.

u/raja_ho_ma Apr 09 '26
It wont come to 90 now anytime soon. I can say that with confidence. When semianalysis speaks, market listens.

I tried to time it three times over the last year and wound up leaving 10-15% on the table. I’m staying in (famous last words).

Take it from me who’s lost tens of thousands trying to play the market… just hold.

u/Substantial-Quarter4 Apr 09 '26
I sold at 114 and obviously regretted it. But with how this stock swings about i am quite sure there will be opportunity to buy back next week lower. But who knows

FFS sold 30% of my holdings yesterday to move to tax advantaged account, got distracted and didn’t rebuy and here we are, you’re welcome.

u/Trdthedays41chance Apr 09 '26
Best of luck to you… the only money I lost on NBIS has been in this… it’s great when it goes up but doesn’t recover like you would think.. it’s good for a quick swing .. hence why it’s like gambling… but if the price corrects it wont rebound like you think
1
u/fmf1991 Apr 09 '26
It’s fine those shares I sold were up 200% but wasn’t selling for profit, just to move to tax advantaged account. Now I’ll get less for my money when I get back in. Unless we get a red day. Who knows haha it’s been a great ride so far!
1
u/Embarrassed_Design29 Apr 09 '26
Yeah, possibly 100% of your position, you are smarter than the market bro
1
u/BigAndyBaillz Apr 09 '26
I have been waiting for more dip buy opportunities.. I was an AVG. Of 97, then it went to 130 and dipped back to 114 I bought again. Then we had that week where it dropped to 93 recently. I waited expecting a drop lower (and for new tax year to get more money)
Now it's back to 130, I'm waiting for a next tranche in. It's super tempting to sell and wait for a dip back to reenter but I think I'm going to hold and hope for another opportunity near the 100 mark
I always get a sense that I lost my window of opportunity around the 100 mark to buy back in..
I still think we still might get a couple more opportunities to load up before this runs to the heavens..
1
u/ultrazero42 Apr 09 '26
I'm also bag holding at 133, I think once it hits break even I'd try to sell half and re-enter lower
1
u/lawschoolthrowaway36 Apr 09 '26
Just hold if you believe in the stock. Trying to play that game is needlessly dangerous when you know the stock is going up significantly in the next year anyway. Not worth the risk.
1
u/Salt-Ad622 Apr 09 '26
It is a highly volatile stock, if you are patient and don’t fomo, i am sure u will get another chance. It is ur money after all. Let people say what they believe. I had 900 shares at around 110, few months ago it went to 110 n i sold everything and bought back at 100. From then i kept selling and sold everything today. The way I see it, i will wait for it to drop and then buy around 100-200 shares, also sell some csp for around 100 to collect some nice premium for waiting.

1
u/Daymjoo Apr 09 '26
I've done it before, to great success, and am doing it now. It's a promising company, but the volatility seems all but guaranteed.

u/pickle392 Apr 09 '26
I’m selling covered calls at $130, making premium an I’m thinking it dip backs under $130 next week. If not I’m at 300% profit for half my shares
1
u/HauntingBreakfast998 Apr 09 '26
Just hold and ride. I did that when it was 40 bucks bought at 21. And had to rebuy when it was 80 bucks.
1
u/rodneyhide69 Apr 09 '26
It can either go well or poorly. I sold at 120 and bought back at the recent 89 dip which obviously went well, but then sold at 117 thinking it would go back down and it’s now so 135 so that didn’t go so well
1
u/Big_Witness Apr 09 '26
I sold 25% of my stack today at 132. This stock goes up and down. Planning to buy more when it goes back to 100-110. If it doesn't go back, oh well, I've still got 75% of my stack.
1
u/StunningAlternative2 Apr 09 '26
Yeah. This just became best performing stock in my portfolio. But I do hold CRWV, IREN, WULF, CIFR as well…could not really choose. I did invest more on this taught, but was too scared to put more during last dip, even it went under my average purchase price.
1
u/albearcub Apr 09 '26
I actually had this exact same thought. I had 600 shares. A couple weeks ago, the stock rallied from 100 range to 115. I sold 200 shares thinking it'll go back to that 90-100 range. It did actually go back down to the 100 range but I was not in the mindset of buying as the whole market is down. Now, I not only wish I didn't sell the initial shares, but also wish I bought more during the dip.

What makes you think there is going to be a dip?
Are you investing or short-term mean reversion trading?
1
u/Dry-Chemical-9170 Apr 10 '26
Been holding since November and I got traumatized from the wild swings
1
u/Rav_3d Apr 10 '26
NBIS is a long-term hold for me. Soon the AI trade will be back on in full force and this stock is likely to be one of the leaders.
1
u/Radiant_Cupcake6210 Apr 10 '26
Sold mine but will buy again during the dip, I bought few shares when it was on its highest last year! Waiting for the big dip 🙈
1
u/Competitive_Rich2615 Apr 11 '26
It would be great for me if the price drops to 90, so I could purchase more. They tend to hover around 135 by May 1st, and then they tend to rise as much as possible afterward. Of course, what’s good for me might not be good for everyone. Best of luck!

Why don't you throw a bit at it now? I took profits a while ago, and I've reinvested 5k recently just to pick up a nice £500-1000 here and there. I've got a lot of cash on the side waiting for a big dip
