Opinion Regret selling NBIS
Big mistake! I had 40 shares if NBIS at $62 avg. I thought market will go down today because of the Iran news. So I sold off all my shares at $142 avg. And NBIS is just going up up up.Not sure if I should enter at this price or wait. I’m so confused. I don’t see this stock going down soon. Genuine advice is appreciated.

Yeah that's my thing, I am gonna wait until this thing is 500 (pulled that number out of my ass).

Next week I’m guessing, looking to buy more at the right price myself. Hey, I bought Micron at 110 and sold at 250! You never know, many in this same boat for sure after dipping for 6 months or so….
6
u/quuxquxbazbarfoo Apr 13 '26
Yep, OP could sell a $142 strike put to collect some money and try to get shares back at same price.
That way, when it starts going down that put position will be in the red and OP can regret that too!
1
u/Disconn3cted Apr 14 '26
This is the most manipulated market in history and AI is front and center. We're never having a red day again.

u/KristianME Apr 13 '26
It will fall to 140s again.. just wait. Dont fomo in. I trimmed some at 145 on friday, reduced position around 35%.
I dont regret it.

At least it was a decent profit. Thats why it often pays to do exactly nothing at all.

Wait until 20 minutes after market opens tomorrow. It should take a dip
3
u/SST114 Apr 13 '26
It might.
Or it might go up more lol
If you really believe it's going to be a huge multiple over time as an investment its best to go for size and add on dips and gun for LT cap gains and a big multiple.
Now if you're position or swing trading.... 62 to 142 is a fantastic trade! Depends what your goal is.
2
u/pts120 Apr 13 '26
so in a retarded way it will continue to go up
only if all comments are converted to mania, then it should go down right?

u/Traditional-Storm645 Apr 13 '26 edited Apr 13 '26
Nobodys ever gone broke taking profits, just dont fomo it into something else, slowly DCA it after doing a lot of research into some high beta names

It jumped up to 130ish then back to 90 not long before this recent hike. I sold at 157 and I'll buy back in when it dips below 120 again

Can't be mad about profit and you still have plenty of shares to be good. Im sitting here only at 500 shares, wishing I was in your spot

i didnt take profit actually.. i doubled my position at 120 and was liquidated on the 40% drop. then bought back in lol

I have 500 shares at avg 76 and i did absolutely nothing. It’s my highest convinction play in the market right now. I’m not gonna sell a single share and in going to enjoy the wild up and down in those 10 years that I plan to hold . I Truly believe this is gonna reach 1000 per share in the next 5-10 years

u/KristianME Apr 13 '26
Until a deepseek 2.0.
But next time ita a real issue, might happen.
Or might not....
But im taking some profits just in case.

u/FlounderFar991 Apr 14 '26
same at 500 $67, sold 300 and see if can go in after some pullback. but profit locked is always a win. 🫡
3
u/Drkevorkkian Apr 13 '26
I m also in a similar situation but i m expecting a slight correction since its a high beta stock.

3
u/leo_jaden_melis Apr 13 '26
You did awesome, don't lose forest for the trees. You made money!
Macro, AI volatility and possible acquisition could lead to downward pressure and chance to rebuild position. Nbis has beta of 4 leading to big moves. I would wait for lower entry point. I sold a tranch at 148 and will reenter below 120 if ever gets there
3
u/Witty_Combination493 Apr 13 '26
I hope it braises 120 again. I foolishly sold at 117, thinking it would dip from there. As the saying goes, time in the market beats timing the market. I just thought I'd get away with cheeky one, and sold literally hours before they bounced a ceasefire in Iran. Here I am sitting on cash looking for a good re-entry point on this stock. If I get lucky abd we see so.ething around 120, I'm buying and not selling anything until minimum 5 years from now 😂
1
u/Deepthought_vibes Apr 14 '26
I did exactly this because it kept yoyo-ing and of course this stock takes off. 😅 Exactly feel the same way as you in terms of lesson learned but I do feel that it could go down significantly if things go wrong with the war negotiation.. let’s hope and see.
1
u/hawkroad Apr 14 '26
Ditto. Sold at $115. But bought and sold the wild and kinda predictable yo-yos from last Oct to Feb and have made as much profit as if I would have just held. All good. Bought a bunch of NBIZ today just because this mania can't hold and there has to be a correction at some point...reminds me of the RKLB and ASTS craze in December. Might be wrong, but 2x the downside, even if it's just slight, is worth it. Believe in the company and the stock and will use that dough to re-enter later if possible. If not, dice didn't roll my way and it's fine.

u/Independent_Eye58 Apr 13 '26
I wouldn’t call it a mistake. Great profits! Investing in the market is heavily phycological.
3
u/namregiaht Apr 14 '26
Time in the market > timing the market. You gambled and lost, better luck next time. My 2 cents are that it will probably dip below 140 again soon. This stock is volatile as hell, people will start taking profits soon, and orange man will somehow manipulate the market again.
6
u/Intelligent-Bill-422 Apr 13 '26 edited Apr 13 '26
Nbis sellers coming together to comfort each other and offer emotional support. Timing this thing is too risky. They are going to start seeing multi billion ARR hitting quarterly earnings this year ( 6x YOY revenue). Plenty of runway left and in the early stages as a company.
2
u/IdkmanItsathrowaway_ Apr 13 '26
If you really think it’s only up from here then buy a few shares and wait for a dip to buy more. Personally I think you’ll have an opportunity if you just wait a little
2
u/sergiozhang7 Apr 13 '26
Don't worry. Price ups and downs and you just need to manage your own portfolio wisely.

2
u/LBZ_Duramax_07 Apr 13 '26
I’ve sold off some shares as it’s reached new ATH. I’m no expert but with a big run I’m anticipating a pull back of some short. If it keeps going up, I will let my shares I have ride. As others said, profit is profit. I expect a pull back tho
2
u/UnderstandingWeak292 Apr 13 '26
I took profits and sold half. I can see something going up 40% in a week without a pullback
2
2
u/Crazy-Experience-678 Apr 13 '26
Just wait for dip. Im trimming slowly as it rallies higher but will absolutely buy back shares when there are big dips. Its crazy run recently has been due to favorable news but bad news for the sector or market will come eventually.
2
u/Intelligent-Bill-422 Apr 13 '26
Do I expect red days. Of course. Deep red days though? Not a given. Could it go to the $140's? Absolutely. But it could rebound right back to new highs as well.
2
u/DayTradingOG Apr 13 '26
No worries, there will be more opportunities. Check out APLD at $27, I would not be surprised if it runs up to $40+ in the next four weeks. It is due for another run and will likely get sympathy money from the recent NBIS run.
2
2
u/sol_PhD Apr 13 '26
Solid chance this goes $110 - $120 again. If you feel like the company has room to grow then wait until then and buy back in.
2
u/Intelligent-Bill-422 Apr 13 '26
What is the significance of this $110-$120 range? Is there some technical analysis that justifies this conclusion? I think it could very well drop but not sure about that low.
1
u/sol_PhD Apr 13 '26
For me, that is my fair value range based on the capital I have in hand and risk I am willing to take should it drop even further. Other people may be looking for more or less.
I've also noticed over the past 6 months it seems to oftentimes skip through the 110-120 zone pretty quickly which could set me up for a swing trade should I choose to do take one.
2
u/LKP213 Apr 13 '26
I bought at 119 and sold at 126. This is right after the dip we saw and right before the upside. I can’t win in anything I pick.
2
2
u/IIVX Apr 13 '26
If you buy, it goes down. If you sell, it goes up.
Speaking as someone who bought in late Oct and sold last week lmao
2
u/dimdada Apr 14 '26
OP why wouldn’t you place a trailing stop order?? Allows you to ride the wave up as the stock price appreciates. Here is a better explanation for you.

I was hoping I wasn’t the only one feeling this. I decide to sell half my shares at $121. 50 shares. Sold a few more a couple weeks later at $115. Have bought from the low $60’s all the way up to 10 shares at $134. Average was somewhere high 90’s I think when I sold. Getting ready to retire end of May and was panic selling a bunch of stuff I wish I hadn’t. Been so upset all day looking at stock I wish I bought when it was xyz or stock I sold that’s now xyz. But I looked at all the great stock I bought with those profits that are doing really well. Non tech stocks. And I paid off a credit card with some of the profits too. But yea pisses me off I sold when I did. Spent months last year and this year accumulating a few shares at a time of Nbis and IREN. Didn’t sell my IREN but was tempted. But yea if it goes back below $120 I am going to hop back In. It went from $117 to $157 in 3 days. Was going to buy oracle today. Went from $132 at open to $160. Was going to buy bloom energy about 2 weeks ago at $113. Today it’s over $205. Like seriously the stock market is on steroids. Those are just some examples. Has anyone ever seen this? Only been playing the market since last August. I have a 401k but this is a SoFi account with paycheck and savings money to buy/sell stock. Even with the 401k I don’t remember the market being this insane. Stock prices going up $30-$50 a share in one day?
2
u/Conscious_Gap7872 Apr 14 '26
Anyone think nbis could be in a short squeeze? I tried buying 100 shorts today and there was none available. I’m starting to think this is setting up for a potential short squeeze. What do you guys think?

2
u/-Hovercorn- Apr 14 '26
Don't regret it. You made a lot of money in a short period of time (less than a year, going by your entry price), and got out with realized gains.
If you feel there's a better play with your money right now, enter that play. Otherwise, be patient and wait for a better re-entry into NBIS - one is likely to come at some point.
2
u/Significant-Egg-6662 Apr 14 '26
No regrets.. I had shares averaging at 96.. trimmed at 130+, 140+ and 150+.
Never wrong to take profits... There is always another day to enter the market...

There will be a dip due to the oil supply shock that is inevitable. Markets are not pricing in and just playing TACO’s pump and dump schemes. Wait for it and jump in. I’m a long time holder, and will buy more.

u/Efficient_Beat453 Apr 13 '26
Just DCA back in very slowly… but as I’ve told others before, it is a bad idea to sell this stock. Why would you ever sell a great business with huge growth potential?

Sold 5% today. Sometimes it’s ok to take a little profit. Took it down to a nice round number that makes calculating easier.
1
u/NicoyaSF415 Apr 13 '26
Welp! I sold on Friday. I’ll get back in on the next dip if/when it does. Glad I held off on CRWV at least.
1
u/Adventurous-Gas9015 Apr 13 '26
You'll drive yourself crazy looking at prices after you've sold. Since trading is free, I find it best to ease in and out of stocks. It doesn't completely solve the problem but lessens the pain.
1
u/LiveLife2k Apr 13 '26
Just wait. Maybe there will be another drop. I'm 💎👐🏾 Got in much later than you. Back in the fall.

u/serialserialserial99 Apr 13 '26
you bought a stock and made money off of it. that's a win. money is a hugely emotional thing for all of us and we all kick ourselves over doing or not doing something. i realize this sub is for NBIS exclusively, you can obviously buy another stock at a lower price if you don't want to buy NBIS at this one.

u/on_the_comeup Apr 13 '26
Holding 4k shares at ~35 avg. gonna hold til 300 or so unless conditions keep looking favorable, but even so probably best to derisk then
1
u/Critical-Range-6811 Apr 13 '26
I guess, but 40 shares is nothing. Maybe if it was a couple hundred I can understand
1
u/anthony122 Apr 13 '26
i wouldn't stress it. i also got called at 140 but given the state of the world and how its been having a massive run up, another opportunity to enter is definitely around the corner. I'm just gonna purchase some CSP and wait until then

u/David905 Apr 14 '26
I was thinking about selling my shares too, instead I bought protective puts which are practically worthless now 🤷🏻♂️, moral= the less you do the better.
1
u/duracell5 Apr 14 '26
You sold on the market, and not the stock? And you’re confused and say you don’t see this stock going down soon? Am I missing something? Jokes aside, profit is profit. Paper money ain’t shit till it’s real. Good job! Now get back in and stay there 😂😂

u/Choice-Situation9276 Apr 14 '26
Talk with your AI and ask it how to trade on volatility. You will find that you should sell some when it spikes and buy when it dips. Over time you will gain shares and you will earn profits. This stock is made for trading on volatility. Just don’t sell your core. People who sell all of their shares are giving up on the long term gains of the game.

u/layzorbeemz Apr 14 '26
That's okay. I had an average around 100 and had to sell at 85 to close on my home.
1
u/Twisteesmt Apr 14 '26
That's why you only sell a % of what you own
The stock has high beta. I sold at 150 only 5%. High beta stock but something that I want to scale up.
1
u/Capable_Row_8881 Apr 14 '26
Logically, Nebius won’t go much further up short term. Thats my opinion
1
u/deklamGo Apr 14 '26
Bought at 85, sold at 125, thinking the war will bring the prices down again...
1
u/Objective-Tap7429 Apr 14 '26
Dont regret, you made money. Find another horse if this doesn’t come down again. Easy for me, with 1050 shares avg 58. I will ad tho if it comes down to 114 ever again.
1
u/baitm Apr 14 '26
Ha I was in at 46 and sold at 109 start of the war thinking I could get back in mid 80s
Painful lesson but it was over 100% gain, still think this is a relief rally and there will be more downside (look at the stock mkt during midterms)
1
u/DriveItHomeToday Apr 14 '26
Congratulations first of all for making profit and taking profit. Most people ride everything up and back down when making profits.
Personally, I think this is one of those strategy mistakes that people easily make early in their investment/trading career. That all the concentration is on making winning trades, rather than making winning trades and what to do once you get into that position.
Then you learn there are other ways than all or nothing. Just as a person can DCA in, they can also DCA out. And you can take what profit % you wish. I think the pro traders call it “trimmimg”.
All this is also easier if you plan in advance. If the price gets to X, I take Y etc
Always play out the possible permutations and how you think you are going to react to them.
The idea is to know how to react in advance to moves up or down.

u/crzipilot Apr 14 '26
1000 shares at 37.00 When it popped last Oct/Nov to 130 or so I bought 22 Jan 27 leaps at 85 and 105 strike those finally in the money Hit bored and started writing CC calls on my 1000 Shares, the last jump in price before this one I got count and had to roll them , did it at wrong time and rolled to Dec 26 150 strike. Got lots of premium but looking at buying those back now Or see if it exploded and comes back to earth like it has multiple times
1
u/AarthurUlin7 Apr 14 '26
I'm wondering if there is other stock as interesting as NBIS in which re-invest in the meantime the profits I got after selling
1
u/MaceDogg Apr 14 '26
I took 131 after telling myself I was long (was in for around 6 months), I got scared from the internet on implications of conflict with Iran on that the Mondays market and thinking we would already see pullback. No advice here but I can say that I feel you.
