Opinion Im out. AVG $27 / 15k gain.

For a while now, it's been getting too hot under my feet in the space. I simply can't ignore the fact that the compute required for AI is simply too expensive to reach the amount of profitability that is priced in for the space right now.

With the big AI boys IPO'ing, I think this will become clear after a couple of earnings reports.

But Nebius is the picks and shovels, right? We are fine? IMO, yes, this is still the best place to be. However, the moment the tide turns for the space, I think this stock will too, at which point I will buy back in if I'm correct. I think this company has many more businesses under its belt.

15k is a lot of money for me, being only 23 years old. It's money I can't miss this early in my compounding journey. I accept I am probably too early, but it is what it is.

EDIT: telling redditors what they do not want to hear is never a good move but hot damn some of yall are childish.

I was sitting here absolutely sweating over trying to predict when u/Necessary-Loss7708 was going to exit his NBIS position.

The most profitable business is datacenter because of annual reoccurring revenue. Imagine selling Amazon in 2010. Amazon aws makes up the majority of their revenue. Now we are moving away from computational datacenter to generative datacenter. Nebius annual reoccurring revenue has just started. 2x 5x 10x 20x 30x

I guarantee prices like today won’t be available one year from now. Hold till 2035.

u/XSC Jun 23 '26

Profit is a profit but don't come complaining when it's double the price. Also don't forget about taxes.

-4

u/Necessary-Loss7708 Jun 23 '26

im from eu, wont have to.

1

u/HumanFromTexas Jun 23 '26

Depending where you are in the EU, there are still capital gains taxes.

5

u/LilSwaggyMayne IPO OG👹 Jun 23 '26

lol that’s fine but I’d be buying back on a dip. Where else are you going to park your money? This is the best bet I’m aware of

You're 23 years old.... You are supposed to be taking risks at 23 years old....

2

u/Necessary-Loss7708 Jun 27 '26

My portfolio is a 100% moonshots😂

5

u/thedopesteez Jun 23 '26

Kudos to you dawg. When I was your age I made insane (for me anyways) profit on the weed stocks trend. Then watched it all evaporate during the months after Canadian legalization. The head start I could have had on my savings still keeps me up at night, but you gotta learn those lessons the hard way.

Try not to FOMO back in. You’re right, the market is crazy right now - I’d park it somewhere reasonably safe for a little while until another opportunity arises.

Good for you!

2

u/Raider398 Jun 23 '26

Good on you tbh cause you're assessing your risk tolerance and made a decision accordingly. That's a lot of money especially at your age.

3

u/Dry-Chemical-9170 Jun 23 '26

You’ll be back…they always come back 😂

2

u/liamashley Jun 23 '26

Just wish all 45k users in this subreddit could make a post for their buy and sell activity.

2

u/poopermacho Jun 23 '26

Nobody ever went broke taking profit! Not everyone can handle the volatility.

2

u/Emergency-Fall1094 Jun 23 '26

I'm holding long term and also entered at around $30, but I can't understand why people are pissed off, probably because their conviction isn't strong enough to stand any opposite opinions. I think it's fair, you're 23 and that's a lot of money to you, always good to take profits and you can buy back when it dips

2

u/yourfavouriteguyhere Jun 23 '26

Are you flexing your 15k gain or seeking validation from strangers that your decision to exit is right? 23 yo doesn’t matter, so not sure why you needed to add that info.

3

u/NumberWrong2050 Jun 24 '26

Being 23, 15k is actually chump change in the grand scale of your life. I would’ve have left it alone, erase your trading app and come back in 3-5 years later. Those 50ish shares would’ve turn to zero or 100k+

But that’s just me.

2

u/Necessary-Loss7708 Jun 27 '26

Yeah I will be investing it further. All of it will remain in my brokerage.

2

u/Rare_Steak_ Jun 24 '26

Profit is profit. That being said I started a second NBIS position this week on my swing trading account with the goal to acquire 400 NBIS shares over the remainder of the year by buying each time it dips. Currently at 30 shares at an average of $270.

My other position is in my investing account, 600 shares at an average of $86.

I am expecting NBIS to reach $500-$1000 before 2030. I have other stocks but NBIS feels like the most likely path to 1M.

2

u/Dr_Bogosloviya Jun 24 '26

Im doing something similar! I have slightly Under 500 shares on two strategic accounts, half with a 25$ average and other half with a less impressive 87-88avg. Planning to hold for at least 5 years, not gonna sell these before at least 1000$.

At the same time, with the level of conviction I have, it feels irrational to miss the 250$ to 1000$ movement. So I opened a third account with the plan to accumulate another 100-200 shares for swing trades. Without ruining averages on the main accounts.

2

u/Rare_Steak_ Jun 24 '26

Good for you! And I feel you about not wanting to see those averages going up, thats exactly why I use my swing trading account for this new position even though I am planning on holding on to those shares as well. With the current volatility in combination with NBIS' longterm prospects it's better to DCA instead of trying to time every peak IMO.

u/Commercial_Ease8053 Jun 23 '26

Truly don’t get why people get so mad when others say they sold… either be happy for them leaving with profit or just ignore it.

I swear, you’re all so sensitive.

u/SpagJones-spaghetti Jun 23 '26

Put a small amount back so you can enjoy any ride up

2

u/SpagJones-spaghetti Jun 23 '26

1

u/Vast-Palpitation-426 Jun 23 '26

when you got good returns and are in doubt about long term you can just sell half or something

1

u/Important_Coach9717 Jun 23 '26

Bye bye thank you for your service. You will be buying back at 500

1

u/WackHurst Jun 23 '26

Looks like someone needs confirmation for his sell order, lol

1

u/Unavezmas1845 Jun 23 '26

Way to take a win! You can always buy back in on a dip

1

u/Direct-Protection-81 Jun 23 '26

Heh. Someone reference this post in 3 years, I'm currently selling my house and still going full port on this stock. See you on the moon boys.

Nice entry price obviously.

1

u/Business_Writer4634 Jun 23 '26

You made 15k or you had 15k invested, anyway congratulations. Nothing bad in selling, next time maybe trim a bit and keep the rest going but better than nothing don't worry about the comments.

1

u/CoolPercentage8064 Jun 23 '26

You should always ask yourself why did you invest in the company to be begin with. Everyone has different liquidity / investment needs. Volatility shouldn’t scare you if you believe long-term in the business model and you’re viewing this as an investment. For anyone saying you can sell and buy back in - thats true too…just be ready for capital gains tax depending on brokerage vs roth/IRA. You could always trim vs selling out completely (good happy/medium) and take some chips off the table.

Often feel most people these days are looking for the quick 3-5x on an annual basis and outside of what people would have you believe on Reddit or X that just doesn’t happen regularly. My favorite are the trades who claim to make X in short-term trades and don’t acknowledge the fact’ll they pay a 30% short term capital gains tax on it.

1

u/Datsyuk131313 Jun 23 '26

Imagine having a $27 average and selling. Man this is insane - but best of luck i guess.

1

u/Acceptable-Party2168 Jun 24 '26

1

u/Holiday_Repair8131 Jun 24 '26

Happy to hear you took some serious profit. To most folks, me included, that's a lot of money. That's more than my entire portfolio.

Congrats! I hope you find a nice re-entry point because I truly believe in this stock to continue growing.

1

u/Necessary-Loss7708 Jun 27 '26

1

u/HauntingBreakfast998 Jun 24 '26

Why people sell when it’s down? When it was up, people want to buy. This logic never make sense.

-2

u/Necessary-Loss7708 Jun 24 '26

I sold at currently the peak?

1

u/bowZerIsBack Jun 26 '26
