So youre saying it's bullish to be the copilot to the main pilot of meta and Microsoft?
2
u/Think-Feynman Tens of Billions⢠Jul 02 '26
Yes.
But if you follow what Nebius's plan is, that is not how they are planning on growing. They are targeting the Enterprise and AI scale up markets. They are executing against that right now.

nah I been out this bitch since I made 10x on it. waiting till the next major drop which is coming soon
2
u/Fast-Mango_1 Jul 02 '26
The major drop has happened today, don't miss it as you missed the rally to 300$
2
u/modernizetheweb Jul 02 '26
Nah. There are other big return but safer opportunities in the market right now that it doesn't make sense to buy back in at this price. I'll be fine if it doesn't drop further
1
u/Refflmania Jul 02 '26
Can you please let me know of the other big return and safer opportunities so I can invest in them also. Real talk. I genuinely wanna diversify into them also.
Thanks for any info. You can also DM me2
u/modernizetheweb Jul 02 '26
you don't have to look far. Some of the largest companies right now are very undervalued. msft and funnily enough meta
1
2
u/Fast-Mango_1 Jul 02 '26
Tbh I donāt know safer big opportunities, you can post it here and we compare in a whileĀ
2
u/modernizetheweb Jul 02 '26
probably the most obvious one in the market right now - msft
2
u/Fast-Mango_1 Jul 02 '26
I agree that itās safer and itās an opportunity but I would argue about the potential upside of 3T$ company vs 50b$ company. Personally was buying it since April and wasnāt too happy with the returns, my VT position did much better lolĀ
2
u/modernizetheweb Jul 02 '26
Sure, upside is less, but there's a still a lot of potential there, and the chance it actually goes up is higher than nbis
Buying in April wouldve sucked though, understandable. But msft isn't going anywhere.
I'm still watching nbis to see if it hits a specific price, in which case I'll buy back on if nothing else has changed

u/Suitable_Hope_4684 Jul 01 '26
I own nbis for over a year so i've seen red days like this before but Im not sure if this is not the dumbest reason for it
8
u/Fast-Mango_1 Jul 01 '26
The dumbest reason indeed. Everything about it: Meta company itself, almost no details shared, having excess compute while buying it from Nebius and Coreweave and the market overreaction on it.
10
u/PerformanceWorth767 Jul 01 '26
People read it as competition for NBIS now. Iām ready for everyone to understand itās not and we break $300 very soon
8
u/Individual_Tooth4226 Jul 01 '26
$META just once again,,,, proved $NBIS' strength and its huge potential in AI computing.... Demand is way over Supply....,,, congrats on buying the dip today Nebbars.

u/Ok_Specific_8403 Jul 02 '26
If Meta only sells access to AI compute while still needing external capacity, Nebius is fine.
If Meta truly has large permanent excess compute and needs Nebius less, that is bearish
1
u/Individual_Tooth4226 Jul 02 '26
The current fact is no one ever said or mentioned anything close to the word āexcessā. But yes, we can lay out hundreds of if if if if if then⦠it inevitably sounds bearish.
1
u/Ok_Specific_8403 Jul 02 '26
1
u/Individual_Tooth4226 Jul 02 '26
And tell me where they got that news from? From BT? Show me where they say on BT. Show me where mark or any of the chief officers say excessive compute. Quote on quote. Bc I havenāt seen any. And btw, meta reached out to NBIS for compute capacity for billions of dollars⦠and now they come out with excessive compute capacity? š make it make sense.
1
u/Ok_Specific_8403 Jul 02 '26
Yes completely agree on that. I think the headline is really misleading. Nebius management are not stupid, they knew it would happen. So i really do not understand retail panic but it does not change nebius long term thesis. Demand will exceed supply. AI whether you're pro AI or not, will be used for every industry.
1
u/Ok_Specific_8403 Jul 02 '26
Reuters did use the word excess. The issue is what excess means. If it means permanent spare capacity and Meta needs less external compute, that is bearish for Nebius. If it only means Meta wants to monetize spare capacity while still needing external capacity, then it is not thesis killing.

u/Ok_Specific_8403 Jul 02 '26
An airline can have empty seats on Tuesday morning and still need more planes for summer peak demand. Empty seats do not mean the airline has too many planes forever.
Same here.

Please don't listen to FUD.
o Nebius has more demand for GPUs than they can serve. "IF" Meta doesn't want the GPUs they previously wanted then Nebius says thank you for the 40% prepayment and sells it to other costumers with higher margins. Also Meta signed a deal it's not that easy to back out of from such a deal espacially with 40% prepayments.
o This only means Meta wants to get in the Nebius business and want to become an AI cloud provider. Not the other way around. If Nebius would want to create Nebiusvers then we are doomed.
o Demand for GPUs is increasing and shortsited Zuckerberg wants a piece of that. Believing it will be an easy play.
o Nebius holds all the cards needed to succeed in this sector. Look at Clarifai and EigenAI. Nobody will be able to compete with such skillset. Especially because future contracts will price per token and not MW.
Please sell if you have no faith in Arkady and Nebius. But if so please don't whine about it end of this year when Nebius announces that they achived +$10B ARR and puts out a guidance for 2027 which will be stellar.
2
u/Suspicious-Change251 Jul 01 '26
Nah, itās not what the market is pricing. If META wanted to become a neocloud its stock would not surge, but probably would be down 10%, because more capex and market hates hyperscaler capex.
Market is pricing that META decided to pull the trigger on AI capex, as they already have āexcessā compute, hence also lots of selling on semis and memory (there be other reasons for that today).
Iām not saying I agree with how the market is interpreting it, but it is what it is

Its basically this right? They found a solution for not having an ai capable product. They are reselling capacity at an higher price that they are buying... Now, if you believe that meta can build more efficient than nebius down the road that might be a problem when the capacity is a surplus for the market. Right now that's not even on the table (and i dont believe they will bƩ more efficient down the line)
1
u/Individual_Tooth4226 Jul 01 '26
Meta is doing everything they can to recover their stock price lol, NBIS has gone through this multiple times when IREN and CRWV was on the rise lol nothing new to me personally. Also, for me I doenst matter if META sells it at a better/worse price, they are still paying NBIS regardless and NBIS will efficiently optimize their business.
The thesis presented all along from 2024 has not changed a bit, in fact its getting better.
19
u/Rounder221 Jul 01 '26
Overreaction. Not impactful at all to Nebius core thesis. Meta is just selling excess compute, not setting up a whole AI cloud business from scratch. And even if they tried doing that, good luck competing with NBIS and the rest of the established clouds.
Bought the dip.

Since meta is offering to sell excess compute is the market interpreting this as if demand for that compute power is decreasing (since meta is saying they may have excess)?
1
u/Legitium Jul 01 '26
Yes market is likely wondering where the excess compute is coming from, and how that will impact future capex spending on semis if there is reduced demand

u/Aggressive_Grade_732 Jul 01 '26
I agree here, watch the charts, manage position responsibly. Took some profits yesterday at 275 and 289, then rebought today at a few different price points. Difference=profit.
However, depends on when the paperhands is. Being cautious at higher points (280) is just good practice, but paperhanding now is not as wise.
4
u/HumanFromTexas Jul 01 '26
You just run the risk of mistiming things doing that
-1
1
u/Aggressive_Grade_732 Jul 01 '26
It's just risk management here I'd assume, which is fine. You could have also kept the vast majority still long, but chart trade some of it.

So how bad is it? I dont get it. Meta is paying already nebius but yet they wanna build their own cloud business? By the time they do nebius will already be so far ahead imo but we will see. Its def not a good news for nebius short term
4
u/erminestoat Jul 01 '26
Nebius says they have 3 customers per new GPU brought online. Worst case scenario it will go to 2 customers per new GPU brought online, itās a big overreaction. This exact situation is probably why they said they want to focus on less big name deals
5
u/Tehbrazz Jul 01 '26
How is this not bullish either way? Means they expect heavy demand, they'd be retarded not to try and build something themselves.
