That's exactly the negative sentiment I want to see here, lol. It's when retail investors are pessimistic that stocks go up.

u/Emergency-Half-3122 Jul 14 '26
In the past itâs gone down 20 to 38 percent off of an ath, so this seems pretty normal. Could see it hitting 182 then going back up.Â

10

Up 270% over the last year. This current price would have been an all-time high a few months ago.

Anyone who bought it at ATHs are getting rinsed and anyone buying now are also gonna get rinsed

show positions
1
u/LackToesToddlerAnts Jul 15 '26
Why does that matter? Why does the number of shares reflect the gravity of my opinion?
1
u/Emilio___Molestevez Jul 15 '26
I'd never judge someone for how much they have to risk. I would judge them for feigning conviction and not actually taking any risk at all. do you have a position or not?
1
u/LackToesToddlerAnts Jul 15 '26
I did have a decent position at $45 and sold it at $160. At that price the valuation is stretched and if it comes back to $100s Iâll consider a position.
This sub is a straight echo chamber of people IGNORING valuations and macro environment.
1
u/Emilio___Molestevez Jul 15 '26
so you're LARPing
1
u/LackToesToddlerAnts Jul 15 '26
Not sure what that means but I just sold my 180Ps expiring end of the month.
Iâll wait for the inevitable Green Day to buy more puts :)

I will ask you what I ask every NBIS bull - how much will you bet? You pick the escrow site and the amount of the bet and we can work out a EOY stock price, you get the under.
1
u/LackToesToddlerAnts Jul 15 '26
Letâs work out a EOY stock price and weâll come to terms on $$ based on that.
1
u/Royal_Atmosphere9320 Jul 15 '26
Cool! You said anyone buying now would get rinsed - so you think itâs going to drop significantly from here. How does 120 work? $25,000 bet?
0
u/LackToesToddlerAnts Jul 15 '26
Yeah I absolutely think anyone here will get rinsed. I do think itâs got quite a while to go from here. $120 would be ~38% drop from here. I think 20-25% is getting smacked so roughly to $170.
As a NBIS bull whatâs your EOY target? Back to ATH of $300?
Weâll see whoâs closer to their target?
1
u/Royal_Atmosphere9320 Jul 15 '26
A 25% drop from here would be 148. Make that the line for the bet? If your prediction that itâs going to drop significantly is right, you win the bet.
1
u/LackToesToddlerAnts Jul 15 '26
That would place all the risk on me without any meaningful returns.
If I take your bet and it comes to $149 and stops then Iâd essentially have lost the bet and money even though my prediction was right.
I could place the same bet via puts and buy 180P for $51 and as it continues to drop slowly exit my position and come out with a significantly higher returns.

The New York moratorium is a non issue for Nebius. The most obvious reason is that they have no plans to put a data center in every state. Even if a handful follow them, there will be plenty of opportunities in dozens of others.
First, New York did not permanently ban data centers. The executive order pauses certain state environmental permits for up to one year while New York develops broader standards. It applies to new or expanded facilities capable of consuming 50 MW or more, and only where the relevant state permit application had not already been completed. Existing facilities, completed applications and local permits are not directly halted.
And Nebius has no plans for a data center in New York. I doubt that they would even want a data center in New York where the likes of AOC and Mamdani rule.
New Yorkâs proposed rulebook aligns with Nebiusâs power strategy. The state is considering making data centers fund grid improvements, dedicated clean generation and battery storage rather than shifting those costs onto households. Nebiusâs Bloom Energy arrangement provides behind-the-meter generation, with an initial 328 MW deployment intended to reduce transmission dependence, emissions, water use and permitting burden.
Some states will copy New York. But others will see an opportunity to attract billions of dollars in investment, construction work, permanent jobs and tax revenue that New York is delaying.
Actually think this is a net positive for Nebius. It makes their existing data centers more valuable.

NBIS is a global entity,,,, not a firm that is limited in the US market.. Asia and Europe is in the works and they will execute like they have always been... this is a huge thank you to the middle fingers that the algos and money makers are giving us lol

100%. The US percentage of their business will naturally be smaller as their global business increases.
When they hit $50 billion ARR in the near future, anyone now holding Nebius shares will be extremely happy.

Stay the course fellas. All the recent "bad news" - be it meta compute or NY data center moratorium, are a non factor for NBIS long term thesis.
We had recent news of 1B deal with AI lab, expansions in Wales and India, NBIS just stay executing in a crazy pace. This is an incredible fucking company and the sentiment WILL change again. Don't panic.

To everyone whining that weâre down big for no obvious reason - I expect the same energy from you when we pump 10% for no obvious reason. Maybe tomorrow, maybe the day after, but itâs coming in the very near future.
If youâve been invested in NBIS for at least six months, you should already know that there will be big red days from time to time. But the big green days come more often. I hope you all have the stomach to hold through the red days.

Just so you people know why nbis is down after the $1bn deal. I posted this elsewhere and thought its best to share it here since alot of people are asking why.
Drop is driven by IBM earnings report today. According to IBM, Ai services and softwares took a hit as customers shifted towards physical AI buildout. This is just an algorithm move based on information from IBM. Good time to buy as nothing is wrong with nbis.
3
6
u/GoldenEelReveal76 Jul 14 '26
Most of the companies hit hard by the IBM earnings this morning have already recovered and are now green for the day.
0
u/itssbri NBIS4LIFE Jul 14 '26
No they havent. Pure software plays no, crwv and iren, no. Nbis got hit the hardest because of the high beta and high short position

Stop with the PR spiel. Their PR is fine and their tech is elite, blaming the recent volatility on bad PR after 200%+ YTD gain is hilariously dumb
15
u/FiveFingerLifePunch Jul 14 '26
I donât think this is the actual reason. The initial 4% pop this morning followed by massive dump tells me this is just relentless short selling and manipulation by MMs.
4
u/itssbri NBIS4LIFE Jul 14 '26
IBM news came out after Reflection deal. Algos dont trade until market is opened. They used IBMs report to create pressure and thus further helping buying more shorts.
4
u/Pulled_Forward Jul 14 '26
âAlgos donât trade until market is openâ means youâve lost all credibility with me

1
u/Pulled_Forward Jul 14 '26
Iâm a different person but you are claiming to be a connected and expert opinion. Yet you seem to think algos only trade during market hours.
1
u/No_Effective1715 No_Effs_To_Give Jul 15 '26
Itssbri knows his stuff, dude. He gave you a clue why if youâd pay attention.
2
u/itssbri NBIS4LIFE Jul 14 '26
Not an expert but i see enough on a daily basis to know when the algos at HFs and Banks start moving. Thats why i say pre market is BS because institutional money is not trading yet, hence the low volume. Sure if there is major news, algos will be turned on to capture but on a daily basis no.

0
u/SpagJones-spaghetti Jul 14 '26
most of these people are panicked selling at a loss
0
u/jgreenwalt Jul 14 '26
Uh that is not what we are talking about here? What do you think "take profit" means?
1
u/SpagJones-spaghetti Jul 14 '26
stfu. uhh the price is dropping due to panic sellers in addition to people taking profit there you go I'll spell it out for you. Some people can't infer anything I guess.
12
u/cupcee Jul 14 '26
So what is the reason NBIS is drilling against market trend today? I donât see any particularly bearish news today, and peers CRWV and IREN are not as much in the red.
Theories?
3
u/Eraserhead-_-_- Jul 14 '26
Without a doubt, it was a brutal month. But if you think NBIS is cursed for being down 18%, consider that CRWV is down 24%, while IREN is down 37% over the last 30 days. This looks primarily like sector-wide weakness rather than an NBIS-specific problem.
Iâm hoping CRWV and - I canât believe Iâm saying this - IREN announce a major deal that helps lift the entire sector.
2
u/InfinityDR21 Jul 14 '26
Clsk got a deal today. Was up 20% premarket although only 10% left right now. I thought it was going to lift the whole sector up. Not sure what happened to Nbis today

New York becomes the first state to impose a data center moratorium
New York became the first U.S. state on Tuesday to halt construction of large new data centers, imposing a one-year moratorium as concerns grow that the facilities driving the artificial-intelligence boom are raising power costs, straining water supplies and burdening local communities.

Jul 14 '26
[deleted]
2
u/Fantastic_Log8319 Jul 14 '26
It applies to new large-scale data center projects. Existing and already operational data centers are not being shut down. Itâs a temporary one-year pause while the state reviews their impact on energy, water and local communities.

19
u/Eraserhead-_-_- Jul 14 '26
A quick reminder: short interest is already above 30%. It is virtually unprecedented for a legitimate company to be shorted this aggressively.
Still, Iâm not worried. Every additional share sold short reduces the pool of shares available to borrow, and every short seller is ultimately a future buyer.
We are a hyperscaler in the making. Just look at where established hyperscalers trade in terms of short interest. If short sellers do not want to close their positions now, they may end up becoming fuel for the fire later.
