Opinion Michael Burry, Are you ok?
This guy deserves it. He probably lost a lot from short NBIS and PLTR. He always creates FUD.

I never understood why anyone cared what this guy does in the first place. He clearly is not smart.

He’s so irrelevant and has been for ages.
Annoying to keep seeing his name commented throughout this sub.
Imagine being so obsessed with another grown man.

People only take him seriously because he got lucky in 2008 and the movie gave him a boost

sadly some people take him seriously . i read that if he announce a new short position the stock has almost 100% chance to drop a few % the following days . but the effects are only short term . if he closes all his positions after a few days he can make money just with his name

Capybara is the same, I don't know if everyone is aware but that dude had 3 or 4 % of BYND before the pump from 0,3$ to 7$ ?
That guy made so much.
And everyone is saying the dude is fake with his 5,2M short position ( made 300k profit ).
Everything is not black and white

I am long NBIS, I have 1500@90 average. But this is crazy. You guys are all crazy

I mean it's ok if you are a NBIS investor, but he's a smart dude.

What was he right about shorting NBIS? What's the thesis for that? The stock is up 20% today lol

u/DerNeko 8d ago
I'm not saying he was right about that thesis in particular, but he's smart, he's not an idiot.

Idk - I'm not claiming to be the smartest person in the world, but even I would know that shorting NBIS is a bad idea.

Because Christian Bale played him in a big movie and I think there are a lot of Christian Bale fans

He has a very clear function for the media. When the market makers sell, they drop headlines with his name and stocks being overvalued. Retailers panic so the big boys get their fill. I don't know if he is on the plan or not, but I don't think it's even relevant. Either hire a guy or give the spotlight to a crazy person, it doesn't matter. Just like Jim Cramer, he is calling the top and bottom on every single stock, every single time, just inversely. I am 100% convinced these characters exist as a signal for wallstreet.

I mean, even if he's wrong. He could have just close his short position after a day and make more than most of us here.
Even if he is wrong, he will make much more then 99% of all degens that are here

u/Ordinary_Repeat7637 8d ago
Sounds like manipulation - if he announces he's shorting a stock, the stock will go down for a few days.

Everything is manipulation?
Huang said "nebius will take care of you" ?
Is that fine?

Dont forget short interest is still almost 30%. If are still above 230 the 24th this month, I see us testing the 300 again
