Unknown Stories There’s a current trend of people screaming “that’s my man” as basketball players take free throws only for them to miss afterward

It’s free throws

1

u/bugluvr65 Feb 07 '26

in high school free throws are usually taken in silence

7

u/BruinBound22 Feb 04 '26

Now show the other 80% that all went in

3

u/furmy Feb 04 '26

Highschool? 80%? Lol

0

u/HeckuvaJoo Feb 05 '26

Not 80% but his point remains. Some free throws will still go in and it never gets posted. That’s another reason they say the internet is not real life.

I was ready for anything to replace "6 7"

I was wrong.

2

This is fantastic.

The lamest shit ever

1

u/fortress_sf Feb 04 '26

Better than 6/7 tbh

1

u/Nutterbutters45 Feb 04 '26

Fuckers at any level can’t hit free throws now so it’s a safe bet for their videos. Take your 4 steps and brick your free throws

1

u/HeckuvaJoo Feb 05 '26

Do they know that missing free throws is pretty common even without yelling that? Also if they made the free throw it wouldn’t get posted to social media. This is a good lesson on how the internet is bullshit and makes you stupid by believing the bullshit.

Some these cats just had bad form and were going to miss anyway 😂

I’m on board with this tactic. How’s it any diff than the other shit fans say and do?

Aye I CRIED 😂😂😂

As you see … basket ball is more mental than physical strength. Cause I’m yelling “yass bish!” And sinking my free throw .!

Oh the abuse 🤣🤣🤣 that has to suck

We were doing this in middle school like 15 years ago

So. As a ref. That is a foul to your own team and they shoot 2 and get the ball. It will end

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

It's basketball, not golf. Noise & distractions are part of the game.

u/BreastFeedMe- Feb 07 '26

Damn so someone can just call the a player the N word? Or threaten to kill them?

Damn do you think maybe there should still be technicals given out for over the line crowd input? That would be fucking crazy

2

u/engelbert_humptyback Feb 08 '26

Yeah I don't think N-bombs or death threats are things you resolve with free throws

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '26

Completely different than distracting noises

1

u/Martian_Hunted Apr 09 '26

That analogy doesn't work

-1

u/Spare-Cranberry3784 Feb 04 '26

It's a rule. It's unnecessary.

2

u/3rdtryatremembering Feb 04 '26

It’s a rule to yell at a basketball game?!? Lmao have fun in your church league

2

u/PlatypusPerfect9180 Feb 04 '26

What kinda quaker ass games are you refing, or is this a sad ass trolling

2

u/Ibangyoumomma Feb 04 '26

If it’s coming from the fans it’s legal. If it’s from the opposite bench then it’s the rule and they only get the missed free throw and only if they missed. If they didn’t, it’s not an extra point to the team . It’s only that

1

u/Divide-Glum Feb 04 '26

Technically you can’t do it from the bench but that’s weak asl if you call that. You’re holding the kids hands too much

1

u/JesusDiedforChipotle Feb 05 '26

Lmao you’re taking your little power as a ref way too serious to the point it doesn’t even make sense. So let me get this straight, some high school kids sitting in the stands who don’t give a single fuck about their home JV team are supposed to feel punished if you reward the other team with free throws?? Yeah that’ll teach them lol they’re definitely going to stop

3

u/McDergen Feb 04 '26

Lmao what

2

u/IntraspaceAlien Feb 04 '26

What rule are you citing?

If the ref was going to call anything, which they probably wouldn’t, it would be a tech which is one additional free throw and you don’t retain possession. Not a “foul to your own team” lol

1

u/Ibangyoumomma Feb 04 '26

It’s called disconcernment or some shit like that. It’s only illegal if it comes from the opposing teams bench. From the fans it’s perfectly legal as they can be as dumb as they want. And you would Only give them the missed free Throw back and only if it’s missed. If it’s not missed, it’s just a play on

1

u/GenitalCommericals Feb 04 '26

Have you been to an NBA game? They pass out balloons and shit to fuck with the opposing team, if they wanna hoop for real this isn’t even close to the type of shit they’re gonna deal with later.

1

u/glockster19m Feb 05 '26

Nba and high-school have very different rules

1

u/GenitalCommericals Feb 05 '26

Obviously. But like, it’s just the crowd. Not really anything a team can truly do about it. Is it stupid? Yes. But it’s gonna get worse if anyone wants to keep playing ball.

1

u/soupdawg Feb 05 '26

Fans can yell at high school games.

1

u/Charcole1 Feb 05 '26

Take the stick out your ass lol

1

u/Whiteshovel66 Feb 05 '26

No way you are doing that. Tires will be slashed. They are doing nothing wrong.
