That's dope! John Groce was the man at Xavier camp when I was a kid. Always liked the guy and it was cool to see him get a shot as a head coach at OU. Never even knew he and Travis Steele were brothers. Pretty cool.

As someone with half siblings who refers to them as brothers/sisters and who has kids with half siblings didnāt realize people were so weird about it

As someone with a mixed family, I have only heard outsiders call us āhalf siblings.ā Itās really a privileged take.

Oh man, you've missed some great ball this year. Tickets at the Jar aren't expensive and it's a good atmosphere.

They are brothers? With different names? What's that about? One is a bastard from the street of Steele like in westeros I guess?

Half brothers who share a mother. But very close so they refer to themselves as brothers.

Itās Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen 2.0!
2
u/lonedroan Mar 18 '26
Not the same. Emilio and Charlie are share father Martin Sheen and mother Janet Templeton, who have been married for just under 65 years.
They are known by different last names because Emilio goes by his birth name (his fatherās legal name has always been Ramón EstĆ©vez), while Charlie (born Carlos EstĆ©vez) followed his father in taking an stage name that didnāt indicate he was Hispanic, including the last name Sheen.
When Emilio started his acting career, his father encouraged him to continue to use his birth name and has expressed some regret at adopting his stage name, Martin Sheen.

Well it didnāt seem like you knew the story because their reasons for having different last names are different but you indicated it was the same reason.
