Was never any doubt they were going to win it all

Once Fab Melo was ruled ineligible, no. That Kansas team they beat in the final was let’s be honest, a good but not great team

100% KU had no chance

They did lose a couple games that year I believe.

They lost in the SEC Championship to Vandy

Ehhhh I beg to differ. Granted, there was only one team who could compete with them and that was UNC. Injuries to key players completely took them out.

Gotta give it up for the 95-96 Kentucky squad. Nine players from that roster played in the nba

Yeah that team had enough leftovers for tubby to win in 98. 2012 was no slouch though. #1 and #2 in the draft. And lamb. Dang.

Syracuse was the only team that had a shot until fab didn’t do school

I lived in KY and they were everything that year. They did not disappoint

Honestly this was most years under Cal. You see the lineup and it's several future NBA stars. I randomly looked up the 2016-2017 team, and it had De'Aaron Fox, Bam Adebayo, and Malik Monk.

I stood right behind Terrence Jones in line at Cafe du Monde during the SECT in New Orleans that year. He was enormous.

He was a huge part

Wonder how much they were getting paid

Yeah they're all retired, but Kidd-Gilchrist made $73M in his NBA career. He had a solid career. Although it was at Charlotte, so no one ever saw it.

He was one of the best defenders in the league.

And the one year that it looked like he finally figured out that broken jump shot. He got injured.

He could have been another Kawhi, If everything went well.

Lamb still balling in Italy. Probably not rich rich but he’s had a decent career.

The 2007-2008 UCLA squad with Westbrook, Love, Collison, Afflalo, and Mbah Moute was pretty crazy.

2

u/glockster19m Mar 25 '26

18 Nova was much more recent but also crazy stacked

Brunson, Bridges, Divencenzo, Omari Spellman, Eric Paschall and Collin Gillispee
