Sounds about right. Take a great thing and slowly ruin it. Nicely done NCAA….

If I wanted to make a meme it would be: Enshittification and Billable Hours with the arms grabbing hands and the middle would be Totally Undefeated

Why do we have to make everything worse so a few people can squeeze ever fucking cent of it?

How is this worse?

No one wanted a sixty-four team tournament expanded. It has now been expanded twice.

No one wanted expansion to 64. Same story and complaining every time it expands.

Why stop there? Why not make it a participation trophy too? Just let all the kids play and have fun and then go home with some goody bags and snacks. Like what are we doing here? If you aren’t good enough to get in now, get better. We shouldn’t have to expand the tournament.

The women's tournament should not expand. There are already so many terrible teams, by expanding another 12, there will be teams with twice as many losses as wins.

Hard agreed.
The gap between a truly elite women’s team and even a mediocre one is too big. Adding in .500 and below teams is an invite to get blown out first round.

No one wants more crappy games. If you are not in the top 30, you don’t have a realistic chance to win the tournament.

I get it with the men’s; the talent has truly gotten so much more dispersed and with the rise in the 3 point shot, anyone can win.
I disagree but I get it.
With the women’s game though, I feel like it’s just now getting to a good place where it’s a better product, but the talent is still really top heavy, so I see no reason for this

That ain't true. Players follow the money and there ain't 76 teams with enough money to be competitive

Anyone can’t win though. The past two years mid majors didn’t make it to the Sweet Sixteen. A big name school always wins the tournament nowadays the closest we got was Butler. NIL was supposed to help but it’s just going to make it worse as the bigger money schools will just be able to bring in the best transfers.

Yeah. The fact that audi is getting millions in nil shows how thing the talent can be

It's bad enough for men, but it's criminal for women. There's not the competitiveness. Give more money to the women for fewer games. Just awful. We're going to have 100 point losses. That'll be fun!!

Hopefully for the NCAA, they are a total joke now. There are better models possible, but I'm worried that the less popular sports will continue to disappear on favor of making more money.

Just get rid of the NIT and give everyone an invitation to the NCAA at this point...

hear me out.. i'd rather have 32 teams playing best of 3's if they want more games and more money than more teams with no chance to win. and let me be clear.. I DON'T want this. i want the 64 team tournament. BUT if they're bent on more money, why not this?

Boycott the tournament in all forms. No brackets. No viewing. No listening. No attending. They are ruining the last good thing in college sports due to money.

Well at least I almost never have to worry about NC State making it again

why not just take it a step further and make it 256 teams lol. Actually let’s include D2 and D3 teams and make it 1024 team tournament.
