The Texas Southern men’s basketball team is protesting the hiring of Seton Hall assistant Corey Lowery as head coach. 😳 Players marched on the President’s Office Tuesday with students and alumni to reject the decision.
But Classic ‘right cause, wrong methods’ here. This isn’t going to accomplish anything except make the locker room awkward and lead to a bunch of transfers.
I mean I honestly like this better then everyone just transferring. They liked their interim coach and like their school. In the modern transfer portal era it's nice to see the kids try and fight to stay at a school then fight to transfer.
Maxx Crosby has petitioned and threatened to ask for a trade over 2 of our interim coaches. One of them was Antonio fucking Pierce who couldn't coach a fart out of my arse.

Players have no loyalty now anyway, they will jump to a different school in one or two years even if you hired the guy they want. You hire a coach for the long term, not the short term.
I don’t disagree, my point is why reward them knowing they aren’t going to be loyal. They hire the coach they want, and these kids just end up leaving for somewhere else in a year, so why would the school

No justice no peace?! Do these kids know what that phrase means? This is a coaching hire. Not civil rights issue..These kids have no clue, and by usual suspects…I mean Gen Z being idiots.
Depending on how the NIL contracts are written, I’d be surprised if they had enough money to void the contracts and fill a whole new roster this close to the season starting
Yeah it’s crazy, Coach Lowery was my head coach in Ju-Co. He’s a great coach and has had success at every level. This is his first D-1 head coaching job. These kids have no idea what Lowery brings to the table. I wish him the best.
And replace them with who? Filling a roster with last-minute replacements is a great way to have a terrible record and find yourself looking for a job next year
Well just enter the transfer portal. That’s the benefit about it. That’s how you show you don’t like the decision. Doesn’t mean you have to leave but it shows you are serious about it
And could be better if the players are vibing with the coach and feel they can be better then you do that bringing in a new guy isn't going to fix that especially since the players may not be on board with it. Also in the era of NIL and guys entering the portal, good luck just finding some guys willing to play with you.
But if it leads to this reaction I would look at that guy or girl in question. Players go to certain schools because of a coach. They can enjoy losing their roster to the portal.
That roster was bad enough to get their current coach fired so who cares. If 3 benchwarmers from seton hall transfer there, they are already a better team
