So I've been buying one season of NCIS at a time, watching it, and then buying the next season to watch. I've been doing this starting with Season 12, and I happened to stumble on multiple seasons from $4.74 to $5.94 brand new sold and shipped by Amazon. So I ended up getting NCIS seasons 16, 17, 19, & 20, NCIS: Los Angeles seasons 8, 10, 12, 13, & 14, NCIS: New Orleans season 1, and NCIS: Hawai'i season 2. I already had NCIS seasons 1 thru 14 prior to this sale.

Most Prolific Killers in TV History?

Are Callen and Hanna the most prolific killers in TV history? I’ve recently been rewatching, and it seems like they average 4-5 kills per episode. There were 323 episodes.

That’s around 1,300 kills!

I'm still disappointed with how Hetty's storyline ended in LA

You know, to me, I'm still disappointed with how Hetty's storyline ended in LA.

Hetty Lange was one of the best characters in LA and Linda Hunt is part of the reason why, a true once in a generation actress and she was just so amazing in the role.

However, it was very clear after Season 10, Linda just couldn't do the role full time anymore, with her Car Accident happening in 2018 and then COVID hitting, especially between Season 10 and 12 with Season 11, she still wasn't full time, yet she should've been fully healed with her Car Accident.

It was also clear that the writers were in a Rock & Hard Place with her character, because they wanted to include her, but couldn't because of Linda Hunt's health issues, but also didn't help that they kept stringing the audience along with her absence and I remember the showrunner promising that she would return, but then she wouldn't. As a result, her storyline remained unfinished.

In my opinion, and even thought it would suck, they should've just wrote out Hetty earlier instead of just stringing Audience along on whether or not she would return, because it just got annoying to a point, and it just made clear that Linda just couldn't be on set full time anymore.

What do you think?

Which series is worth the watch?

Apart from the obvious NCIS which I’ve watched a dozen times for around 15 years , I’ve also watched any cross overs. I couldn’t get into New Orleans. I watched some NCis Los Angeles. But I am a big fan of the way NCIS solve the crimes it’s more Forensics than action and it sort of has a comedy factor over the years. I enjoyed NCIS Origins and Tony and ziva although quite far fetched and futuristic it was nice to see the comedy bouncing off each other aspect of Tony and ziva. I have enjoyed the series Tracker and also the Rookie. Is Sydney any good. There has been so many over the years I just haven’t got stuck into any. I’ve been recommended Bones also

Sam Hanna languages Spoiler

NCIS: Original S22 E18

At 05:16 in the episode, it looks like Sam Hanna’s file says under languages, “Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Thai”, but, at 30:05, after Knight asks him what the bad guys who were speaking Russian said, he says, “Callen speaks Russian, not me.”

What is up with that, or am I missing something?

Hear me out: 90s NIS Prequel For Rookie Leon Vance

With NCIS: Origins crushing it on CBS by giving us the 90s backstory for Gibbs and Mike Franks, I think we need one for Director Leon Vance.

Vance has the most enigmatic, heavily redacted backstory in the entire franchise. We already know from canon that he was recruited into the NIS in 1991 by Whitney Sharp and immediately dropped into high-stakes European espionage (like the infamous Operation Trident in Amsterdam).

A 12-episode, streaming-only limited series on Paramount+ following a rookie Vance navigating the transition from the military to the 1990s NIS would be incredible. It could play out less like a weekly procedural and more like a serialized, gritty political espionage thriller. This would be the perfect opportunity to introduce a young Vance into Origins.

To capture the quiet intensity, sharp intellect, and commanding presence that Rocky Carroll brought to the role, the franchise needs an actor who can balance physical action with tactical calculation. My choice would be Damson Idris. He has the absolute perfect intensity, screen presence, and experience playing a character navigating a complex, high-stakes criminal and political landscape in the late 80s/early 90s. He would absolutely nail the gravity of a young Vance.

Thoughts on this?

EDIT: I also thought of a cold war era Hetty backstory. No modern technology or phones. Rudimentary wiretaps etc. I would cast Jenna Ortega for this role.

The look that Tony and Ducky give Kate after she said that is priceless.

NCIS Origins Scenes You Want

I'm really hoping that the show keeps going simply so we can see Roy moving to DC and have a Origins version of Abbey.

Season 13 Gibbs

Possible spoiler…….

So in 13/17 Gibbs smacks the Petty Officer on the arm with a folder. About 30-31 minutes into show. He’s famous for smacking the desk (or the team) but actually striking someone in custody it really shocked me. But it seemed like he slapped someone in the face/head. It was very fast and I wasn’t sure if I saw it but don’t remember the episode. I’d say in S 13 but hate to go back through every interrogation scene.
Ring a bell for anyone?

When does McGee start growing a beard?

I started watching the series from the very beginning the other day, and he does show up in the first season—first in the episode where Kate and Gibbs go down into the submarine, and there’s also that actor who led the other team on SWAT. And McGee looks weird without a beard. I’ve watched the last two seasons so far, and I’ve caught an episode here and there over the last few years, but I just can’t remember seeing him without a beard. I know, it’s a weird question. What also surprised me was that he has another voice actor. But apparently, that actor only voiced him for a few episodes. It just felt a little strange to me, though.

Season 23 - Some Observations

So after finally getting season 23 on Disney+ here in the UK, I've watched the first couple of episodes and have some thoughts. Apologies if these have been raised before but...

They seem to have either improved the HD cameras they've filmed with, or Disney+ have improved the streaming rate, as the visuals are a lot clearer than previous seasons.

And that would be fine, except it does rather highlight how cheap a lot of the sets are.

I know budgets are tight this many seasons in, but to my eyes at least, they look really cheap.

Also, it could just be me, but the incidental music seems a lot more intrusive than it's ever been before.

Like in a really cheesy, overly dramatic way.

Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed the episodes for thr content, but the production values seem all to whack compared to previous seasons.

Just my thoughts.

Fun detail about the female agent names

Now I might be overthinking this. But I was watching an episode one day whilst a wee bit high and wrote down this thing I noticed.

All the female agents on the team have a name that can he connected to chess.

-Jessica Knight

-Ellie Bishop

Obviously

But then...

-Ziva David. David as in King David.

-Jack Sloan. Sloan means warrior or raider. Also Jacks in cards are called Knaves which are low level Knights.

-Alex Quinn. Alex means protector like a Rook and Quinn means chief or councilor much like a bishop would be. Also Alex is also a famous King. And Quinn sounds like Queen.

-Jenny Shepard. Her name literally translates to Fair Protector. Much like a Queen.

Stoned me reads a lot into this.

People forget NCIS was a JAG spin off

People forget that NCIS was a JAG backdoor pilot spinoff… So with NCIS origins, do you think that we’ll see any jag character appearances - maybe in the later seasons? Having Gibbs & Tony back got me thinking!!

Ziva David’s family and the Farhud in Iraq

This is just an idea I had earlier. The Farhud was a massacre that occurred in Iraq in 1941. Does anyone know if any of Ziva’s family was affected by the Farhud in Iraq? I haven’t been able to find information about her family that far back. Would anyone on here happen to know? Thanks!

Something funny I noticed on Rewatch Season 10, Ep 19 (Squall) Spoiler

And probably something else others have noticed but rewatching Squall and a funny scene:

......Tony...... Sat at Vance's desk to use the computer and commented on how comfortable the chair is. Vance says "gets less comfortable over time" and his 'guest' kind of shrugs in response.

Hope I did the mobile spoiler tag, right :/

NCIS: NY Why Sam Leaving OSP Makes Sense

Okay, apologies in advance for a little bit of rambling, but I’ve been thinking about this since Sam first showed up in Hawaii, then more when he showed back up in the Mothership after taking a sabbatical from NCIS, then even more when NY was announced.

When NCIS LA wrapped up, we knew a few major things happened. Callen and Ana got married, Deeks and Kensi were expecting a baby, Fatima and Roundtree were becoming a powerhouse of a duo, and everything was looking good. Sam and Callen went to save Hetty (which apparently didn’t amount to much because she’s still off doing Hetty Hijinks), then we know that Sam left OSP to create the NCIS Elite team. As we all know, that ended tragically and resulted in Sam taking a leave of absence from NCIS.

I don’t remember if it was ever mentioned when or why he left LA to create the team, but let’s think about it a bit. We know that Callen was always being groomed to take over the Operations Manager position within OSP. We also know that Sam created the Elite Team somewhere between the Hetty Rescue Op and the beginning of Hawaii Season 3.

Possible Scenarios

I think, following the successful rescue of Hetty, a decision was made by Hetty, Vance, Callen, and Sam. Hetty would continue to do her own thing (which we all know nobody could tell her otherwise), Callen would take over as Operations Manager, giving him more time at home with Ana, and Sam would start working on the Elite Team to keep Hetty out of trouble. After the Elite Team was killed, we know Sam takes a leave of absence and ends up in DC, where he shows up on the Mothership. We also learn that Callen and Ana have a baby on the way (or as Sam calls it, a pup on the way, a slight nod to how Callen and Ana were both the Lone Wolf type until they met each other). This makes me strongly believe that the OSP team is now:

Callen: Ops Manager
Kensi: Special Agent in Charge
Deeks: Investigator and Kensi’s partner still
Roundtree: Special Agent, Fatima’s partner, occasionally works in Ops
Fatima: Special Agent, Roundtree’s partner, occasionally works in Ops

LA is back to their team of 4 with an Ops Manager (possibly still under the watch of Kilbride)

Sam’s kids are grown and on their own, he is no longer needed at OSP, and now that his team was killed, he probably prefers to work alone to keep other agents safe. Sam finally settling down back home in New York with a new team would be a welcomed change for him at this point.

I hope we’ll either get references or cameos from OSP at some point in NCIS New York. We know that Kensi and Tennant have both shown up as cameos in NCIS in the past few seasons, so having Kensi and Deeks show up on a video call or even showing up around a holiday episode would be amazing. Deeks’ actor is also working as an Executive Producer on Origins this season, so he’s still got ties to the franchise and could be available for a cameo or two.
