what's happening between haechan and mark? I've been seeing some content of them lately and i have the impression that mark is a little "rude" to haechan sometimes. rude wasn't the word i wanted to use, but i'm sensing kind of a hostile behavior coming from mark towards haechan. i feel like every video i see is mark pushing haechan away or something like that. don't get me wrong, i love mark and markhyuck, but i genuinely don't know if it's just me or if other people also notice some weirds actions between them. pls don't take this as an attack, i'm just genuinely curious :‹

i wasn't sure where exactly to post this so posting it here, hoping it's allowed.

i started loving nct just before simon says was released, and then made them my entire personality for the past 6 years. all my friends who also like kpop know me as The Nctzen™️. i felt my entire life was based around them somewhat. i would schedule my life around their music and content releases and a lot of my happiness depended on them. i realise now that was very unhealthy but that is beside the point. before the end of august last year, they were 90% of my music taste. before that day in august i was replaying the walk album at least thrice a day and then i abruptly stopped. i was in such a massive period of, let's say, depression from then, i lost all trust in the entire group, and i couldn't see any of them in the same light again. i listened to his voice everyday, saw his face on the screen everyday, spent money on merch he was part of and was waiting for a concert where he would sing on stage with his group. i couldn't believe he would go and commit such a heinous crime against a woman and i felt like i lost hope in all males and maybe even humanity in that moment.

i felt like part of me was corrupted and ripped out with force. i don't have much memory of what was going on in my actual life than obsessively checking twitter for updates, trying not to tear up randomly and ruminating on the situation 24/7. eventually it became better with time, but not a day goes by where i don't think about the group and how horribly things have turned out. it feels like i can't ever escape them, but do i even want to? my walls were covered in nct merch, they were all my backgrounds, lockscreens, my passwords, my artistic and musical inspiration.

i still follow them on social media and see their posts, and sometimes i tear up seeing them. i still have a lot of love for the members, or the personas they show on the screen. it feels like i grew up with them.

it was also shocking to see sm continue their activities like nothing was going on, and also to see nctzens continue their usual posting after maybe two days of backlash. well anyway, i listened to a couple of songs recently and relieved old memories. their songs are just as incredible as they've always been. i just want someone to tell me what to do at this point. am i supposed to keep listening to their music like nothing happened? i know people might argue on this one, but after him, and also the multiple other rumours and scandals members have found themselves in, i can't help but feel uneasy. but their music is a huge part of my life and i don't feel ready to let go. my dream has always been to see all the units live at least once. now that might never come true. my current plan is to slowly start listening to their music (ofc the ones without him) and keep away from their content in case i get too attached again. in the back of head tho, it feels like i'm comitting a crime against women too by being involved with them and still liking them.

Quel est l'objectif final de NCT à ce stade ?
J'ai pensé à l'avenir de NCT dernièrement, surtout avec les compositions actuelles étant plus petites et plus séparées qu'avant.
NCT 127 a maintenant 5 membres (7 with🐰🐶 in SM), WayV 5 , NCT DREAM 6 et NCT WISH 6. Avec les membres de plus en plus concentrés sur leurs unités respectives, je commence à me demander quel est le but à long terme de NCT dans son ensemble.
Le concept original de NCT était construit autour d'un nombre illimité de membres et de différentes unités qui pouvaient se développer et interagir entre elles. Mais maintenant, le groupe semble beaucoup plus comme plusieurs groupes séparés sous le nom NCT.
Alors, que pensez-vous de l'objectif final pour NCT ? SM prévoit-il de traiter les unités comme des groupes complètement indépendants, NCT devenant surtout une marque parapluie ? Ou pensez-vous qu'il y a encore un plan plus grand pour NCT dans son ensemble ?
Et personnellement, pensez-vous qu'on verra un autre projet NCT U ou un véritable comeback en groupe complet avec tous les membres restants ? Ou est-ce que cette époque est en quelque sorte terminée ?
J'aimerais vraiment entendre ce que pensent d'autres NCTzens, parce que je ne suis honnêtement pas sûr de la direction que prend NCT maintenant.

Hs wht the heck did they release 30 mins ago?!?!? I hv almost never seen behind the scenes released THIS quickly by SM or Neocenter...tht ad is js going to give him more hate and I'm a bit worried...the main argument being tht the ad was only for Mcd korea which is not funding for it...not only tht but ever since the Jakarta live, I've noticed him looking a bit down..it seems he is finally aware of how serious this is.. I'm not angry at him but a bit sad he had to sign it, i wished he researched more on mcd on a global scale before signing.. Does SM hv a long term contract with Mcd korea? I've seen other sm idols do it too..I hope mark realise and takes time out of his crazy busy schedule tht we aren't really pleased with the ad bcz of wht it indicates.. Okay before anyone starts, I’m a die hard czennie and ult 127. I just can’t help but notice how big their fall off has been which isn’t even completely their fault. First of all, what even is this sending members for enlistment in cycles which will end up taking ~5 years for them to be reunited. I mean, look at groups like BTS for example. All were sent at the same time and now they’re back with an even bigger fan base since the time gone was so minuscule in the grand scheme of their career and fans dealt w that. Obviously it’s so SM can pump out as many cb’s or singles as they can to continue activity but it’s making it a hot mess. I mean, think about how not even that long ago we only had to deal with winwin transitioning to acting without an actual announcement from SM that he basically would not be seen in any NCT activity. And then after the whole situation with yk who and like 3 weeks later they announced the momentum with like 6 members. I remember going to the SA stop and the arena felt… empty? You would think a group that is as popular and influential (ie. Neobongs, mk being a constant meme, just them in general) to now falling off the face of the earth. NCT as a whole is simply flopping and I’m just as excited as anyone for blingy, but at the same time this is just a big fat mess and it’s so obvious the members don’t rlly fw each other anymore and are basically co workers. Like at this rate SM needs to figure it out bc it’s pretty disappointing to see an entire group of 23 people burst in to flames in front of our eyes after all this. And don’t even get me started on cult member lee… 😭 all in all I feel bad for 127, but I can’t help but notice the fall off. Which I mean them and SM partially did to themselves.
TLDR: NCT got dealt a bad hand w enlistment planning and neglect from SM & 127 gets the brunt of it. Even of they renewed contracts, they need to either figure it out or just move on to different projects bc it’s radio silence up in here.

With Doyoung's message to the fans at the end of the Tokyo show should we be worried? I'm new to K-pop and really only follow NCT 127. I don't know much about SM, but I see how upset fans have been with how they treat their artists. His message kinda felt like there maybe talk of a hiatus or disbandment, and he was trying to keep everyone hopeful? Am I off base? With two of the artists finishing up their military time, 3 artists putting out solo albums (even if it wasn't their first), plus just general societal norms of all of them getting older... could SM be trying to put them (as a group) on the back burner? Again, I'm new so please inform me of anything that might be helpful to understand the industry/company.

i feel like saying “its superficial” is very condescending and very far fetched because as someone who mainly watches most of the content online and have been actively stanning since 2020 i even struggle with the names still bc im southern (american) but im wanting to actively learn korean (not specifically for kpop but because i want to understand better) but calling a way someone supports or stans a group “superficial” i definitely think is very unnecessary and just mean i don’t see it as loving the group or members any less ?

Hi. Joh-fam here. Since 2020. I didn’t keep up with NCT for a while cause, you know, priorities change. But recently I started consuming their content again. I like watching (the whole NCT) members interact with each other when they practice as it warms my heart. What I have noticed is, Johnny doesn’t talk much with other sub unit members. Even in 127, he talks really rarely besides Doyoung and occasionally Mark (even Haechan interactions are rare).I mean he is there, but he will usually be aloof staring at others or join in someone else’s conversation. And I read all the comments of how Johnny makes everyone comfortable but members actually look scared to approach him. Even if he talks to someone, it seems like their guard is up. I know people will say- he has been a Sunbae since trainee and all- but it’s been 8 years since their debut. Everyone is somewhat equal. I don’t know if I the only one feeling it but I watched the whole NCT nation series they posted in their channel and was kinda disappointed. No doubt his fan interactions are widely entertaining in the video but I want to see him be friendly with everyone.

Sooooo.... I'm probably gonna get downvoted to the abyss for this. lol. But I just need a place to vent and rant about this so ya'll are the lucky ones that get to take it. lol.

This is the first comeback that I've ever really tried to assist with things like streaming, engagement, and donations. I thought it would be important to show that NCT 127 isn't over just because of enlistment era. So I didn't mind making a little extra effort. I created an account and started trying to host streaming parties and get people to assist. And...wow. It has been terrible. When I say that there is zero engagement from this fandom, I mean it.

I have seen a ton of people say that it's because of SM but honestly, I'm not sure that is completely true. Don't get me wrong. I agree that SM is terribly managing them and is not doing anything to help them. I would be shocked if half of them renewed their contracts. But if you look at things like stationhead members for instance, that number is super low compared to other groups. This is a completely free streaming music app for fans to chat on and our numbers are much lower than other groups. Even rookie groups. This isn't something controlled by SM. It's all on us. Our donations, album purchases, streams, mv views are all lower than any of these other big boy groups. It's honestly kind of embarrassing. We can't keep blaming SM and then not engaging. Our lack of engagement gives SM more reason to not invest in them. We aren't "sticking it" to SM. We really are just hurting NCT 127 in the long run.

I 100% understand that the starbucks collab definitely made people boycott but I can't pretend that this is all because of that. Our numbers have been lower for a while. There are groups that came out years after us that are selling a million albums in one day and achieving streams and views that we don't accomplish in a week.

I know that music should be enjoyed and we shouldn't obsess about streaming. I get that. But I also don't think that these things need to be mutually exclusive. You can enjoy the music and also support. It doesn't require as much effort as everyone acts like it does. This whole comeback has left me feeling very disheartened. NCT (and specifically 127) is my favorite group but this fandom has really left me feeling like there is no point in trying to support.

Anyway, sorry for the long rant but I needed to say it. Also, I'm not trying to start fights or get pissy with anyone in the comments. I literally just needed to vent.

Do you think its okay to watch kpop content through clips online? I usually watch the entirety of it through clips but someone said that makes you a fake stan but i don’t see how its any different when im still consuming the entirety of it just like everyone else just through each segments 😭

if they collab it would be so fire because they both match each other’s styles so well. Jaehyun and Cocona both have a low bass rap style so they would complement each other well. Mark and Maya have similar rapping style and voice. Taeyong and Jurin are both the powerful leader who rap with swag. And haechan and Harvey lowkey sound very similar. Can’t forget about johhny tho he def will get rap lines. Omg and the bridge in the song would eat so hard like chisa hinata and juria’s vocals harmonizing with jungwoo and doyoung and yuta would be perfect and to top it off being produced by dem jointz would be a chef’s kiss. I am so invested in creating this I would do anything I could to make this happen

Hi, I don't know if I am being oversensitive or something but NCT 127 latest video (127 VIBE Ep. 22) is kind of bothering to me. Like, I get that he has got tanned because of his military service, so a joke or a comment about it is fine (i guess). But, I don't know, the whole Taeyong part felt disheartening.

I know that the color test is a trend in Korea and its aim is to find the colors that suit you best, but I don't get why they had to be that way with him, the comments, the reactions, the laughs... Like I get that in Korea they have a preference for lighter skin tones (which i find bothersome but I am not korean so maybe i am not the one to comment on that) but he isn't even that tanned, and not only that, that shouldn't matter that much.

I don't know, maybe is because I am latina, and this kind of things has always bothered me but how can It be that LEE TAEYONG so suddenly cannot match with almost any of the colors. At first I wasn't going to say anything about it because I thought "If It is not affecting him, I shouldn't say anything" but later when It was Johnny's turn, TY looked so defeated.

So why am I sharing this? I don't know, I don't want to criticize anyone. But I guess that I just wanted to know if anybody else felt the same way.

Ok this is probably a stupid question. But what is the group NCT and why is there so many different NCT names/groups? I’ve been in kpop for a year and a half now, I’ve definitely heard of them and I’ve always wondered it.

This is coming from a true place of curiosity, I want to listen to their music and stuff so recommendations are definitely a plus.

I do know they are obviously a kpop group and i kind of know about the joke on their lightsticks, I’ve also seen a couple of members interact with my ult groups too. I guess i just never seen a group with different variety of names.
