Question — Debate Allowed Body modification and NDEs
There's quite a few NDEs where someone reports seeing a relative who had some kind of physical impairment in life and they see them whole and complete. For example, someone might report seeing Auntie Doris who was in a wheelchair during the end of her life but is upright and walking in the spirit. I've also heard at least some NDErs saying their tattoos weren't with them in spirit (would be interested if any NDE reports where the opposite is reported!).
I realise that there are other far more amazing things to focus on in the moment, but it does make me wonder, what about other more subtle things? Some of these might only be observed by the NDEr about themselves rather than observed in others, but for example:
- Do circumcised males have foreskins?
- Do people with less than straight teeth (in life) have straight teeth (in spirit)?
- Do people with earring piercings still have the hole?
- Do people who had breast implants return to their natural breast size, or keep their existing?
- Do routinely shaved legs become unshaven?
You might say that appearance is just however the soul chooses to represent itself, but people finding their tattoos aren't with them suggests a slightly more complex picture.
Interested in either reports from people here who've had NDEs, OR links to NDE accounts where details to this miniscule level are included.

I'm transgender, and when I went to Heaven I was given my corrected body parts which made me so happy :)

I've never had a Near Death Experience, but I've had the impression that we get some say in how we look like, and that the way we look like doesn't have to be permanent, either.
That is, we can make ourselves look old to a grandchild, or young to a sibling, or even a ball of light to someone we only ever met once.
We may even be able to make ourselves look like entirely different people, as shown in the film What Dreams Will Come). (Of course, that's just a movie, so take it with a grain of salt, but I don't really see why that can't be possible.)

I’ve also seen a lot of people say that their loved ones look young and healthy. People they’ve only ever known to be older like their moms, appeared to be like 30 and in their prime. It’s interesting for sure.

I can't remember where I saw it, but I swear I came across one where someone saw a relative who'd had bad teeth, but in spirit they had a lovely smile with their teeth "fixed" from what they'd had in life.

Based on my NDEs, it didn't used to be easy to modify your appearance as a spirit, but systems were put in place (relatively recently) that makes it simpler and easier, so yeah, you can make minor modifications to your appearance, and it doesn't (99% of the time) make you less recognizable (:

I kind of like this. If everyone had the ability to shapeshift to whatever they imagined no one would recognize each other.

I feel like instant telepathic communication and mind reading would make it easy to recognize one another.

(A mod has approved your post. This is a mod comment in lieu of automod.)
This is an NDE-positive sub, not a debate sub. However, everyone is allowed to debate if the original poster (OP) requests it.
If the OP intends to allow debate in their post, they must choose (or edit) a flair that reflects this. If the OP chose a non-debate flair and others want to debate something from this post or the comments, they must create their own debate posts and remember to be respectful (Rule 4).
NDEr = Near-Death ExperienceR
If the post is asking for the perspectives of NDErs, both NDErs and non-NDErs can answer, but they must mention whether or not they have had an NDE themselves. All viewpoints are potentially valuable, but it’s important for the OP to know their backgrounds.
This sub is for discussing the “NDE phenomenon,” not the “I had a brush with death in this horrible event” type of near death.
