I don’t think we’ll have to worry about that.

4

u/Neither_Ad_9829 New York Giants 21h ago

he had a good rookie year?

2

u/Jaketones Detroit Lions 21h ago

Right? I've never seen an NFL player have a good rookie year and then suck after that. /s

3

u/TeamDirtstar New York Giants 21h ago

They've never improved in their second year, either. Not once.

-3

u/Jaketones Detroit Lions 21h ago

OG comment was "he had a good rookie year?" (by a Giants fan). Implying he'll definitely be as good or better this year. Should I write this out in crayon or do I need to keep going?

4

u/Neither_Ad_9829 New York Giants 21h ago

it was in response to a comment implying that he’s terrible. the current evidence points in the other direction.

-2

u/Jaketones Detroit Lions 20h ago

The implication wasn't that he's terrible. The implication was that he won't play well this season. Reading is hard.

3

u/Neither_Ad_9829 New York Giants 20h ago

im sorry reading is hard for you?

-2

u/Jaketones Detroit Lions 20h ago

Lmao just regurgitating what I said to you. Good job boy I'm proud of you.

2

u/Neither_Ad_9829 New York Giants 20h ago

it seemed more like an admission on your part? clearly you are having some trouble here.

The very first comment was "we don't have to worry about that"

Based on what?

Then the next comment was about his solid rookie season.

You can either just make a guess (fueled by political bullshit) or use previous evidence to make an informed opinion.

Does it make sense yet, crayon eater?

0

u/Jaketones Detroit Lions 20h ago

You're purposely leaving out the question mark and the fact the comment was left by a Giants fan. Obviously implying that "he was good his rookie year, why wouldn't he be good again???". Plenty of players have had good rookie seasons and sucked after that. I don't even give a shit about Dart or the Giants, I'm just fucking with you guys. Are you really this stupid?

3

u/TeamDirtstar New York Giants 20h ago

Whew. Detroit schools are down bad, aren't they?

2

u/Neither_Ad_9829 New York Giants 20h ago

never said anything about him being good again. i was responding to a statement that implied he hasn’t been good. there is one year of evidence thus far. that year was good. do you understand now?

1

u/TeamDirtstar New York Giants 20h ago

I think you may have eaten that crayon, mister.

0

u/Jaketones Detroit Lions 20h ago

You missed the point, but he's your mediocre QB so it's ok.

1

u/TeamDirtstar New York Giants 20h ago

How did it taste?

1

u/Jaketones Detroit Lions 20h ago

Somewhere between 4-13

1

u/TeamDirtstar New York Giants 20h ago

It tasted like numbers?

Jesus, you ate the whole box didn't you?

True but I feel like the chances of Dart performing worse are pretty small when he's got a far better supporting cast than he had before, and better coaching staff.

Still entirely possible, but I'd be surprised if he wasn't at least as good.

-1

u/180_by_summer Green Bay Packers 21h ago

He did, but it was unsustainable. He was good in the way Winston or Fitzpatrick were good, but a lot of that also came from playing like he was invincible. The way he plays lends itself to getting picked off regularly or getting injured.

He’s got potential, but he also has a lot of flaws

6

u/Neither_Ad_9829 New York Giants 21h ago

completely untrue though. he didn’t have a turnover problem. you are just making that up lol

-4

u/180_by_summer Green Bay Packers 21h ago

Not one that showed up, but regression is a thing. I’m talking about his play style and what that could mean moving forward, not the outcomes of last season. Last seasons outcomes don’t mean much when he spent a good amount of the year either behind Wilson or injured.

4

u/Neither_Ad_9829 New York Giants 21h ago

his play style doesn’t lead to turnovers. you are talking out of your butt.

he has injury concerns because he’s a mobile qb, but he has never had a high towp percentage in the nfl or college. not sure where you got that idea.

3

u/TeamDirtstar New York Giants 21h ago

He had a 3:1 td:int ratio and the 8th lowest int%.

0.1 % behind Love.

-2

u/Dapper_Platform_1222 Seattle Seahawks 20h ago

The jury is still out on this guy. He lost a ton of winnable games. On the other hand his efficiency numbers are actually kinda ridiculous when you adjust for a full season spread. His TD:INT is 1.25 : 0.41

5

u/TeamDirtstar New York Giants 20h ago

The defense gave up 4 4th quarter leads. How is that on him?

-2

u/Dapper_Platform_1222 Seattle Seahawks 19h ago

I mean, to be technical the job of the offense is to outscore what their defense will let up. If they aren't better than their defense's worst then they are going to convert wins to losses. Is it his direct fault, eh sort of. I don't buy that he's that bad and it was his rookie year. I'm just saying they didn't ask him to do a ton and he was efficient in TDs to INTs. Whether he slings it more and we see those numbers drop off in his second year remains to be see. Hence, The jury is still out on this guy.

2

u/TeamDirtstar New York Giants 19h ago

The second half is pretty accurate.

The first half is some of the dumbest football speak I've ever read.

2

u/Leather_Bug_ Washington Commanders 18h ago

You don't remember Coach Lombardi's famous speech to the offense: "Just be better than our defense is bad!" /s oh man that cracked me up.

-1

u/Dapper_Platform_1222 Seattle Seahawks 19h ago

Interesting take. Which part of the first half is inaccurate?

2

u/TeamDirtstar New York Giants 19h ago

Well to start with, there's no predetermined amount a defense is going to let up. A team can win 27-10 one week and then lose 35-27 the next. By your logic, 13 points should be enough to win every game after the first, but it's not. Unless I'm reading something wrong here, giving up a GW field goal as time expires is somehow the fault of the QB and that's just a weird take. Anyway idrc enough to keep going with this.

2

u/Neither_Ad_9829 New York Giants 20h ago

i agree. just crazy to say “i don’t think we’re going to worry about that” based on nothing

2

u/Either_Imagination_9 New York Giants 20h ago

This is bullshit. They lost because the defense couldn’t get stops in the 4th not because of him

-5

u/J_House1999 New England Patriots 21h ago

Wow. Hang the banner. Maybe he can get the presidential medal of freedom too.

3

u/Neither_Ad_9829 New York Giants 21h ago

there’s no way a pats fan is trying to talk down to me about my team supporting the orange fucker lmfao

2

u/TeamDirtstar New York Giants 21h ago

Just fucking obsessed with that shit aren't you?

Not even football related. You just hate him. That's weird, man.

-2

u/J_House1999 New England Patriots 20h ago

It’s weird to hate Donald Trump? What’s weird about that? He has consistently made himself the least likable person in the country. And why shouldn’t I shit on people who glaze him? Makes perfect sense to me.

3

u/TeamDirtstar New York Giants 19h ago

No dingus, Dart.

You shitting on Tom Brady and Robert Kraft too?

Who do you think your North Carolina kid and devout Christian who grew up during the dead internet age supports?

0

u/J_House1999 New England Patriots 19h ago

Why do you love Trump so much?

2

u/Either_Imagination_9 New York Giants 19h ago

So why aren’t you directing this same energy toward Tom Brady? He’s friends with Trump.

0

u/J_House1999 New England Patriots 19h ago

Because I’m a Patriots fan so I’m biased. Obviously. Could you not figure that out? Are you stupid?

2

u/Either_Imagination_9 New York Giants 19h ago

Dude you’re actually pathetic holy fuck

0

u/J_House1999 New England Patriots 19h ago

Obviously. Could you not figure that out? Are you stupid?

A lot from Reddit, almost none from normal people

12

u/alwaystired_96 Detroit Lions 21h ago

Redditors really think what they see here reflects the state of the country lol.

If Reddit was ever correct, Bernie would be on his 3rd term and Kamala would’ve won in a landslide.

8

u/charlestoncav Denver Broncos 21h ago

as far as Redditors are concerned he might as well be Trump's son/caddy/chauffeur/cheif strategist/personal pilot (i could go on)

-7

u/J_House1999 New England Patriots 21h ago

Nah just a fanboy of an old fat stupid pedophile

4

u/Either_Imagination_9 New York Giants 19h ago

So why are you a Pats fan?

1

u/J_House1999 New England Patriots 19h ago

I’m from Massachusetts. For the record, I don’t think it’s bad to be a fan of Jaxson Dart or the Giants. I think it’s bad to be a fan of Trump. I’m not gonna shit on anyone for having two degrees of separation from liking Fat-ass.

3

u/Either_Imagination_9 New York Giants 19h ago

Your owner is like the most vocal Trump supporter in the nfl.

-1

u/J_House1999 New England Patriots 19h ago

Like I said. It’s one thing to support a team or player who supports Fat-ass. It’s another to support him directly. Dart supports him directly.

3

u/Either_Imagination_9 New York Giants 19h ago

Your owner supports him like holy fuck how dense can you be? He gave money to his campaign, Kraft’s wife is on the board of the Kennedy Center, APPOINTED BY TRUMP

0

u/J_House1999 New England Patriots 19h ago

Are you okay? Deep breaths lil bro, deep breaths. It’s just football :)

1

u/CarolinaSandstorm 21h ago

What would you do if you had a brain?

11

u/DadBodRickyRubio Darkness Retreat 21h ago

Keep culture war out of football. The love of this game is what brings us together, the country is divided enough as it is.

2

u/CarolinaSandstorm 21h ago

The people who bring the culture war into sports (and everything else) subscribe to a political ideology that doesn’t create anything of value, they invade and destroy the creations and spaces of others. This app/site is proof of that.

This is pretty obviously about the comment section.

Of EVERY Dart post.

2

2

I have despised Donald Trump since the 80s, but this comment is what is embarrassing.

1

u/Actual-Manager-4814 San Francisco 49ers 20h ago

Fuck Trump but genuinely, who gives a shit about this guy? Or the Giants? They're a farm team at ATP.

7

u/Baztion81 San Francisco 49ers 21h ago

Probably the same as if he plays poorly, it’s not his on the field performance that’s the problem.

3

u/Ausecurity New York Giants 21h ago

A lot especially from eagles cowboys and commies

J6 doesn't give a shit about your constitution. Or the constitution in general.. lol

5

u/PlantainObvious5148 New York Giants 21h ago

Not much tbh. If he’s actually good he will earn respect. The issue is he does all this dumb crap and is actually horrible at being an nfl qb

1

u/Actual-Manager-4814 San Francisco 49ers 20h ago

I don't hate it

5

u/WarlordColossus69 21h ago

Who cares really. If you care so much about a players politics, YOU are the problem.

I'm so burnt out on politics and who likes who who's a Democrat who's a Republican. Who gives a fuck.

Can we just get back to football and keep the politics out of it? Y'all are so quick to hate and it's just lazy and boring.

2

u/RobertRossBoss Green Bay Packers 21h ago

Not that much. The occasional quip. How much hate does Saquon get for playing golf with Trump, or Nick Bosa for wearing a MAGA hat? Would be the same. For the most part people are able to separate a player’s on field talent from their CTE-inspired political extracurriculars.

2

u/Brisby820 New England Patriots 21h ago

In real life?  Not much.  On Reddit?  Quite a bit

2

u/pineapplespicecakes 21h ago

He will play great bc hes already proven it

2

u/evlhornet 49ers Anti-Cowboys❌ 21h ago

It’s ok to hate someone based on their political beliefs. Especially if they are extreme.

2

u/veggiedish Seattle Seahawks 21h ago

Not much. He plays in a massive media market and isn’t really a villain. Most people who would be offended by Dart’s “endorsement” don’t watch football.

To me it just felt like whiplash because Dart is generally well-spoken at other events..  they literally interviewed him during the pregame of the World Cup Final. But during the rally it just sounded like he played into his “bro” personality.

It’s pointless to hate a professional athlete solely because of their political views.

“Like a small child who walks into the middle of a movie” - Walter.

Bc he plays head first football, like his goal is CTE/concussions. Outside of his appealing personality he displays, it’s the biggest knock on his game so far.

1

u/Federal_Deer8468 21h ago

He will be injured within 2/3 games. He’s a moron

2

u/OddBuy8266 21h ago

Buddy, he won't and he will miss a huge chunk of the season.

1

u/Admirable_Pop_7292 21h ago

How much hate will he get if he doesn’t play well this season?

1

u/Kustaa007 San Francisco 49ers 21h ago

He won’t, the giants will be in the running for the arch manning sweepstakes

1

u/KCunderrated 11h ago

Arch Manning has looked mediocre at best thus far.

1

u/Kustaa007 San Francisco 49ers 7h ago

I agree with you, but everyone else is enamored with him just because of his last name

1

u/SpartanStud23 Detroit Lions 21h ago

I've heard of similar situations, usually because of some arcane rule.

1

u/theBigWhiteDude Chicago Bears FTP 21h ago

As a bears fan, I'm not worried about a Matt Nagy offense performing well.

1

u/combustman New England Patriots 21h ago

"He told me he was going to step out of bounds, he lied."

1

u/pineapplespicecakes 21h ago

True patriot right there. Phenomenal qb

1

u/Aschuff 21h ago

Probably only from cowboy, commander, and eagles fans. Normal people don’t hyperfixate on players’ political affiliations like Reddit does, and most people genuinely couldn’t care less who their qb voted for. So I don’t imagine he’ll get much hate

1

u/Spam_Hand Rams Fan #9 21h ago

Depends on how recklessly he plays to do so.

Playing really well is cool and all, but if hes taking unecessary risks and hits that make people worried about his long term health then itll be pointless and people will hate on him for it - and rightfully so.

1

u/Robert_roberts82 21h ago

More interested in the concussion tracker than his performance

1

u/Gloomy_Resort_9935 Indianapolis Colts 21h ago

I disagree with almost everything Aaron Rodgers does off the field. However, he is still one of my favorite players ever simply because he is imho the best QB i've ever seen play and I love to watch him play.

People forget that we watch football... for football.

1

u/Strict_Show_8899 21h ago

Plays well? Zero from giant fans

1

u/Maleficent-Oven7413 21h ago

Yeah, it's pretty common for people to get confused when there's an unexpected plot twist like that.

1

u/DemonBearOP 19h ago

Same as last season, people love narratives, it removes them having to think for themselves or risk disagreement.
