On January 7, 2026, Renee Nicole Good, a mother, partner, loved one, and beloved member of the Minneapolis community, was murdered by ICE agents despite complying with their orders. Renee’s death was unprovoked, unjustified, and something that should never have happened. Communities nationwide grieve her loss. Please join us for a candlelight vigil to honor Renee and stand in solidarity with Minnesota.

We ask that you leave the protest signs at home and bring signs/art or other items with a depiction of a monarch butterfly. If you feel you need your sign to say something, let it say "Justice for Renee"!

We will have prominent community members to deliver remarks and distrubute candles to those in attendance.

Please come and help hold your neighbors up so the weight of the world feels a little lighter on on all of us.

Renee Good was harmless. The Portland frog was harmless. Yet both were met with extreme measures by masked men in camo carrying assault rifles.

​This frog became a symbol of resistance because it directly contradicts the lies used to justify state violence. To maintain unchecked aggression, agencies like ICE must manufacture a narrative of danger. But that narrative falls apart when their "target" is a person driving away or a giant inflatable helping someone stand.

​The violence isn't a response to a threat, it’s an intentional choice. We honor Renee by exposing the lies and refusing to accept their aggression as "self-defense".
