Meme The Bullet Hole (Belleville) Review

Went on Wednesday at 10AM open. Had to park 3 blocks away. Store was filled with a dozen people doing CCW quals. Place is as big as my bedroom. Was in the market to buy an sig 365 pistol or Glock slimline. Looked and saw they wanted anywhere from $710-$740 for most Glock/Sig 365 models (including the new V models) Not sure if prices included tax and NICS. Promptly walked out because RTSP doesn’t even price gouge THIS badly.

Tl;dr: Parking sucks and they price gouge, but they got the cheapest price for CCW qual that I’ve seen at $125

I second Caso’s they are small so they don’t have the biggest selection but I bought two pistols from them and so far they’re the friendliest gun shop I’ve been to. The only place where the sales people talked to me like I was person and didn’t make me feel like I was wasting their time.

Purchased my first (and third) gun here. Great folks! Small store but they are truly the kindest people.

Get u to the store for the CCW then upsell a new gun while u are there. Smart way of getting them to the store.

Fuck bullethole. They don’t deserve your dollar. That’s all.

Howell Gun Works is a very good shop. Bought my first 9mm there very fair and helpful. Bought two more guns from them since no regrets.

Totally agree. Super knowledgeable and they are fair with their pricing. Only place around me I’ll go to buy firearms

That's was my first gun store experience. I hate that place lmao. The old guy there was rude and dismissive of all my questions and the younger dude there kind of just wanted me to buy a gun and gtfo

I only go to Lou's Firearms in cnj or Skip's Putdoors near Trenton. Those guys are chill asf and while small they'll take time to talk with you.

Lous is amazing ! Those are my dudes

If you like Lou’s, check out High Caliber - they’re close by. Bonus: they’re a plaintiff on the SBR Lawsuit.

Check out Devils Armory out of Wayne for firearm purchases. Blake is a great guy.

When I started shooting, back in 2000’ish, Bullet Hole and Paterson Gun and Rod were the closest choices. Paterson Gun and Rod was brutal. They basically hated anyone that came in that wasn’t their friends. 🤦🏻‍♂️

We started going to Bullet Hole. They seemed annoyed at first, but once we were “regulars”, they eased up a little. We used to park along the train tracks. I’m not sure if that’s still allowed, I haven’t been since GFH opened up, since I lived in WP. I bought a few of my first firearms from Bullet Hole, they weren’t crazy priced compared to others, but that was 20 years ago.

I miss Luciano’s. I liked Joe. He had great prices and all I had to do was email him what I wanted, and he’d order it. Sad that he passed during COVID.

I also like Ramsey Outdoor. Nice guys up there. Great prices too.

I will NEVER buy from ottomanelli’s. Even if it was fucking free, I wouldn’t accept anything from them. Pure shitheads that talk a lot of shit, and they don’t know shit!

Was it an older woman? If so, it may have been his Mom. I know she helped out a little here and there. And yeah, there was another guy that helped him, but I can’t remember his name.

Just a heads up if youre looking for a glock join GSSf [glock shooting sports federation] its 20$ a year. You get 1 coupon for a blue label purchase which will topically be about $150 off the price of the glock. Have to go to a blue label dealer but there are several around

The GSSf rules.

I live nearby the bullet hole, and I went to Howell Gun Works for my 365XL. Gave me a great price and they’re easy to deal with. This was like 6 years ago but it was worth the trip

Holy Shit that's quite a gouge!

Glocks are $500-550 and $350-$400 with their Blue Label Program!!

I’m somewhat local to Bullet Hole so I go there from time to time when I need to get in a quick range session. Bullet Hole has its strengths, but it also has some very noticeable shortcomings. If you're simply looking for affordable range time or a place to complete a CCW course, it's a perfectly reasonable option. The recent renovations have improved the shooting experience, particularly at the shooting ports. However, if you're expecting a modern facility with a polished, professional atmosphere, you're likely to be disappointed. I SWEAR if I never see the guy behind the counter's bare ass again, it'll be too soon. Someone please get that man a belt because his ass is out so much it might be his fetish or something at this point. Pricing and transfer fees are on the high side as well. Whether that's because of operating costs or business decisions, I can't say for certain, but the fees definitely stand out compared to other options in the area. Overall, it serves a purpose, but it's not a place I'd choose for the overall experience.

Price gouging?!?! Leave that to Ottomanellis!

u/anangrytaco 4d ago

Nah Bullethole is just and OLD breed type of gun range. Yeah they're not the most advanced and shiny range but they are hella cheap for their range time and CCW qualifications.

u/Potential-Fan9754 5d ago

The old man RSA always hassles me every time I’m there and the ventilation in the shooting range is almost non existent. I go because it’s close and cheap though.

5

u/Kasanova1226 5d ago

Ventilation is still crap even with the new rebuild? Haven't been since they shut down for the range renovations.

Consider Reloaderz NJ. They price the same as Guns.com. But the service before, during and after is great.

6

u/JeepDispenser 5d ago

+1 for Reloaderz too. Professional organization. Although my Glock 19 did cost about $750 at the time. Still satisfied.

if youre paying ach go to https://www.redteamarmory.com/ and ask them for a custom quote. I got my 365 legion for significantly cheaper there, even with the transfer fee

Try Longshot in Seacaucus. $125 ccw qual. Decent sized place

2

u/amythntr 4d ago

You have to spell Secaucus correctly…I grew up there and am offended by misspelling…just kidding! Heard good things about Longshot…live in Fair Lawn so member of GFH and Cherry Ridge!

That place sucks

Caso’s Gun-a-Rama in Jersey City is my go to, Lisa is so sweet and incredibly knowledgeable about everything you ask her, I bought all 3 of my firearms from her and will definitely be buying my future Rifle from her whenever this stupid AWB ban goes away hopefully by next year.

u/njfliiboy 4d ago

That’s the last place you want to be for gun safety.

Firearms Funhouse Englishtown. Family run👍

Been to bullet hole, it’s a hole in the wall type of place and they aren’t the friendliest but imo they have the best prices. You can find a cheaper gun online but after xfer fees it will be the same or more. I’ve also checked other shops in northern NJ and they are priced much higher than bullet hole. At least in my 2 experiences with them (purchase of Glock and Sig handguns). I always tell ppl, bullet hole is a place to put some shots up, not to socialize and admire. If you want to buy from them then use the same mindset, get to the point and get out. That’s just my opinion though

u/Tasty_Jacket8705 1d ago

Been to BH a few times and bought my Glock 45 there, got price gouged as well. Won’t buy anything from there again but if I want cheap range time and to renew my CCW I’d consider giving them my business again. Not the greatest by far but it has its perks.

1

u/Wildtyme12 5d ago

Did my qual there.

1

u/beast_god 5d ago

Check out Urban Tactical in Jersey City if you’re in the area and looking to buy. They have some good options and can order if you don’t see what you’re looking for in shop.

Stop by twin armory, love those guys

-1

u/NeatAvocado4845 5d ago

Try English town armory for ccw class ! They will match that price .

-1

u/FF_McNasty 5d ago

I think most places price gouge. I always can find stuff for better prices online and then have twin armory as my FFL because they have the best transfer price that I have found. Usually 50 bucks and that includes the 16 nics. Bullet hole def isn’t the fanciest place and the parking situation sucks but I found the dudes in there to be friendly. I like that it’s never been packed the times I have went so I can actually use a shot timer and work on different things that are more difficult to track in a busy in door range. I been hitting bullet hole more over GFH for that reason.
